Still not native. It's not just about the games, it's about lot of other application. I just used LFS as in more of a joke. Hence the smiley.
No matter how you turn it, or how you praise it, it's still overpriced.
Yes the price contains the price of the OSX. But so do other computer contain the price of Windoze. So for me a weak argument.
And even if OSX is more expensive, you're actually paying more for and OS that can actually do less? I mean, if I'll have to run some Bootcamp or a VM for every other application I want to run, I don't want to pay for such OS. It's like if you bought a super cool car and you'd need a tow truck every time you want to go with it to the store i.e.
I've used Macs before as well, they never impressed me so much that I would actually buy it, because I still see them as pointless toys for people who need something to show to the others how much money they have so they can afford the largest, the best and the most expensive Mac there is on the market atm.
And the argument how you can change internal components in a moment without touching any wires. Really? So now we're buying computers for changing stuff all the time, or using them?
I've never actually opened up a Mac laptop, but I must admit, some HP notebooks are complete and utter crap when it comes to design. Basically because you have to disassemble the whole damn thing before you even get to see the heat sink.
And don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan in M$ or any of their crap either. i just use Windoze for LFS and work, basically because we're developing in .NET.
I'm also not an Apple hatter, it's just my personal view on their computers.
I've been now using and abusing Linux and *BSD for about 10+ years. Usually I just sit back and watch these Winblows/MacOSX fights.
so yeah, I've tried to make me a decent helmet skin but I keep failing. So if any of you guys want to give it a shot, I'd like something like Simon Pagenauds helmet, but it doesn't have to be exactly like it. Simon Pagenaud helmet Google Images
They are now. Some time ago, Macs ran on their own architecture called PowerPC or PPC for short, developed by Apple, IBM and Motorola.
Now they run on standard PC architectures and CPUs. So basically now you're buying a standard computer hardware, stashed into a little bit "prettier" casing, at a much higher price. It's like if Ferrari would have started installing engines from Prius into their cars and charge the same as before or even more.
But wait, there's more, you can't even play LFS on it.
Get your facts straight.
Macs base is based on unix, it's not made in unix.
Linux has nothing to do with unix except that it's similar to it. RMS has rewritten every bit of code and named it GNU. Linus has rewritten the whole kernel and called it Linux. He did get inspiration and help from Minix, a version of unix.
Apple stole the UI from xerox, not xenox. M$ stole from Apple. So what? They're both bad boys in the end.
Oh LFS can be easily creted in iOS? I'd die to see you try!
iOS is a spoiled little brath, when it comes to developing software for it. I've tried porting some of my own software, which was written in a cross-platform framework called QT. Developed on linux, packaged for Windows no problems, but spent a few days trying to get it even packaged for Mac, and then there was the problem of running it properly. And those were only simple applications, I can imagine how "easy" it would be to port LFS to Mac.
Such "stupid" corner cutting is available on more tracks and cars than just FBM@BL1.
I.e. that last chicane in AS3(or any other track combo using that chicane) people are jumping over those curbs so hard that it would kill you not just destroy your suspenssion in most cases.
Or maybe the infamous FE chicane. Or the Kyoto entry to oval....
If LFS got a better damage model on suspension and also tyres, and everything else, then people would stop cutting corners over these curbs so hard as well, and you don't need any layout objects then.
Putting more obstacles on track than needed is just a hazard, and a mistake by one racer in such situation can cause problems for more than just him self.
Or better yet, make the current GTR class the GT2 class, as the specs are much more closer to last years GT2 class cars and make a new GT1 class with ~600BHP.
And ofc, LMP-class cars and a nice long, with insanely long straights track to resemble the Circuit de la Sarthe.
So yeah, devs would have to pay for the use of MP3.
But I really can't find a use for MP3s in a racing simulator. So it would basically be for cruisers..again. Haven't we have enough "goodies" for the cruisers already?
And besides. OGG and MP3 are pretty much the same when it comes to quality. Very similar formats, and by your statement, that what the younger generation has grown up with. Well, OGG is "younger" than MP3, and no one actually grown up with it. Plus further more, it is an open format, so basically free.
Just grab a converter of google, there's tons of them, and convert your MP3 files.
The software they are making is bringing them in money.
Many users of the software don't have high-end computer systems.
So if they "pimp" up the graphics engine and all that sensless crap, they lose quite alot of users and also quite alot of income. So why do something that will bring you less money?
I use a single core CPU. Does that make me less human or something? Nah. Just means that I have a smaller e-peen. And I'm ok with that.
Why buy a lorry if the only trip you are making is from the house to the grocery store and back?
So basically, a tank bunker entrance on the hood, rear fenders from a tractor, a snow plow for the bumper and a wing from the boeing 747.
Not everything is big on a GTR car.
Have a look at the current ones.
Hood intakes, normal size if any. Fenders, slightly wider, so the wider wheels fit, bumpers not really big. And wings aren't also "big ass".
Besides, why butcher it?
Either power up the current GTR class, so it's in the range of GT1 cars, or make the GTR class the GT2 class, and bring in new cars for the GT1 class.
Hello,
my guess is that LRA can't yet analyse laps that are on 0.6B open config track right?
Or is there another cause for this error, when I load a .raf from an open track config: Error loading "filename": File format error (block count = 0)
And from the file list, the .raf files that were recorded on open configs are grayed out.
Is it alot of work for you to implement open configurations in LRA?
