I just finished Hajime No Ippo (Fighting Spirit) a week or two ago. And I should be getting the sequel (Champion Road) through Netflix this week. Ippo is totally the boxing version of Initial D. It was pretty cool.

Dude, we could totally make a game out of this!

Someone comes up with a phrase. First person to name all the songs used for that phrase wins!!!

I also did the Hard Drivin' thing back when I was a kid at the local bowling alley. That game taught me how to drive a stick at the age of 9!

Indy 500 was the first PC racing game I really played. Followed by Indycar Racing (I still have the game/box)!

Let's see if anyone can remember this. I can't for the life of me, remember the name of it. It wasn't really a game, as we're talking about. I remember a toy/game, it came with a steering wheel, an attachment for your TV that had a small car on it facing the TV that moved left and right with the steering wheel at the bottom of the screen. Your suppoed to throw in a VHS, and drive the car on the road on the tape which is in 1st person view. Your supposed to reset the counter on the wheel before you start, and it makes a god awful buzzing noise when your off the road, and the counter drops. It read where the road is by a sensor on the car. At the bottom of the screen on the tape, there was a black spot where the road was, and on off the road, it was white. So when the sensor saw white, it penalized you. OMG, so many memories!!! Someone has to help me remember this one!!!!!!

OMG, I tried the Dirt demo the other day. I played it on XBox at my friend's house and thought it was mediocre. I did enjoy the different styles of racing. So I tried the demo, hoping it was better. OMG, w/ a dual core processor, 4 GB ram, and 8800Ultras SLi, I could barely run it with the damn graphics set to medium. What the hell?!?!?

1nsane does work with a wheel and pedal combo. I don't think it has FFB support, though. You can find it cheap online if you look around.

Leadfoot is a pretty good stadium off road racing game by Ratbag. No freeroaming, though.

SODA was good, but old. Last time I tried, I wasn't able to get it to work on my system. Also not really a free roaming game.

Screamer 4x4 was also a pretty good game. Lots of freeroaming, good variation of vehicles.

I'm waiting for Grand Raid Offroad to come out. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it's made any progress in the last year and a half or so.

This is extremely sad. I still remember very well when Richard Burns died, and now this.

Quote from Crashgate3 :I rememeber *exactly* these comments when people moved from DOS to Windows 3.1, then to 95, then 98, etc...

Give it 5 years or so and it will start all over again.

"This new OS sucks and is totally unneccesary - I'm going to carry on using Vista forever"

Totally. I upgraded to Vista. People asked me why, and I said "Because, eventually we're all going to be using Vista". And they reply with "I will never upgrade to Vista". And I just think to myself, "yeah right".

I decided to upgrade to Vista for a couple reasons. I was doing an overhaul of my comp. I was buying DX10 cards. I had 4 GB of ram to use, and my 32-bit XP didn't support more than 3 GB. So far, to me, it actually seems to be alot less buggy than when XP first came out. Once I had it setup properly, it's actually going pretty smoothly. But it's true, it eats up alot of my ram just sitting there, idling. But I haven't had any capatability issues, except for McAfee not being supported.

That is awesome. But I think it would probably make me sick in less than a minute. Especially with a VR helmet on.

I never let CS piss me off. And I played it alot. It's especially fun when your playing with people you know well. I've been in the same clan for about 4 years now. The clan itself has been around for almost 10 years. We rarely recruit or see people away, so most of us have become very close and very good friends. It's mainly fun since we pretty much always BS with eachother on Ventrillo while we play (no we don't ghost). So we've learned not to take the game seriously, and therefore, we can enjoy it no matter what our score was.

As far as which is better, I really enjoyed 1.6, but OMG, it's old and so hard to look at. Source is far better, and I think implements some better gameplay aspects (e.g. shadows, debris). But the Condition Zero by far takes the cake. The hostages are just awesome! I really wish Valve would implement all the things that made CZ great into Source.

I watch anime, ALOT! My Netflix queue is over 99% anime. For those of you that diss anime, I don't think you've actually watched a good anime. There are some amazing shows out there. My favorites would probably be: Trigun, Fullmetal Alchemist, Berserk, Cowboy Bebop, Basilisk, Last Exile, Samurai X (OVA), Twelve Kingdoms, and Cromartie High School.

I have a profile at Anime News Network to keep track of what I'm watching, what I've watched and what I want to watch. So far, I've seen 149 different films and series, and I'm currently in the middle of 7 of them.

Actually, the graphics on Mobil1 RC, I think for it's time, were awesome! But the games is what now, 8 years old?

RBR is definately the most realistic (as far as physics) and the best looking (except maybe Dirt).

One game I thought really captured the sport of rally really well was Mobil 1 Rally Championship. Day stages! Night stages! Rain, Sun, Snow! And the best part, LOOOOOOOONG STAGES!!!!!!!! And more of them! Also, they had excellent pace notes, better than RBR, IMO. Unfortunately, it's old, and I don't know if it'll even play on new systems, and the handling physics are virtually non-exsistant.

Quote from Madman_CZ :I second that! An old game now but still very playable and quite challenging. Definitely worth a play! It has been one of my longest installed computer games.

Oh yeah, Screamers 4x4. I have that game. I haven't played that in a long time. But it's a very good 4x4 game.

Speaking of off-road games, I'm waiting for this to come out:

I agree. I thought about mounting it on the inside against the windshield or the back window after I watched the vids for the first time. It wasn't my camara, so I didn't make the videos. I no longer have programs to edit the videos to compress them. Otherwise, I know exactly what your saying.
Just a couple autox vids of mine

I just thought I'd share a couple autocross videos of mine from a couple months ago. I've been busy working on my Fiero, so I've been racing the Syclone this year in it's place.

Anyway, for some reason the videos don't buffer, so you'll have to wait to download them completely before it starts playing. Their kinda big too (almost 200 mb each). I'd suggest either downloading them to your HD, or just click on one, and continue doing something else, and it should play shortly.

If any of you watched the show Setup on Speed Channel, you might recognize the person at the end of the second video, or the voice of the person announcing in both videos.

Enjoy!

I'm kinda a simulator freak. For racing sims, I'm into LFS, GTR2, GTL, GPL, RBR.

For Trains, I have MS Train Sim and Trainz 2006. Trainz looks better and has alittle more features (e.g. engine control and a few other things), but MS Train Sim has actual routes. And the routes are longer and more involved. Plus I think MS Train Sim has a better selection of engines.

For Flight, I was a huge FS9 fan. So it's expected that I bought FSX (Deluxe Edition, of course). And now I'm finding myself dumping gobs and gobs of all my money into my computer just to get the damn thing to run it smoothly with sliders right (I've got a couple 8800Ultras to throw in when I get around to it)! I've also slowly am trying to get into Lock On. It's a cool game, once you get used to it and the controls. I got it with a three pack which included it, IL2, and Pacific Fighters. I have yet to play those, I guess I should. I also have MS Combat FS3, which I wasn't able to get to work when I bought it, so it's been collecting dust.

For War sims, I was a huge Operation Flashpoint fan. So of course, I had to get Armed Assault. But I've been having problems with it crashing, so I haven't been playing that much.

I also for some reason have Ship Simulator. Though it kinda sucks since you can't really do anything in it. I bought this because, like I said, I'm kinda a sucker for simulators.

Quote from 96 GTS :Is that the Typhoon you're running in that video? Looked like a lot of fun to me. I really need to get into autocross, I finally have the car for it, ditched the boat I used to drive.

If by Typhoon, you actually mean Syclone, then yes it is! My real autocrossing car currently has the Engine/Trans/Subframe scattered in the garage.

I missed the first episode, so I'm not really sure what happened then. But I wish they would show more about how they're setting up the cars for each race. I also wished they had the other members of the teams more involved, instead of focusing it mainly on the drivers. I also can't stand the damn camera views. You can't tell what the hell is even going on. But still, with having people on it that I know is making up for it.

Oh, and I thought I'd share this with you guys. Here's an autocrossing vid from this weekend. At the end, you'll see me about run over Ron from Team Bridgestone.
