Well i think you'r asking about how much it stutters..It stutters a lot you can't even use the wacom to draw or paint something. It doesn't (or i can't see) stutter in other software like 3dmax or flash8 and sketchbook...But stutters alot in PS and Corel Painter. Maybe it is not because of the mainboard..Might be Vista drivers, etc.. I didn't have time to test enough after installing the new drivers.
My mouse cursor stutters in most of the gfx programs. It starts stuttering after a few painting clicks.i thought it would be about history settings and turned it off (in PS) but didn't help.It also stutters in some other gfx software.I'm using vista on a quite powerful computer...Have you any idea??
Can't i make it clear enough Jakq??
The test is very simple to understand. Mental ray *rendering a scene in both cpu's. And the result 2.4GHZ C2D = 2.34GHZ AMDx2.I did this test.
*rendering a scene is highly cpu-intensive job.So there's no doubt that it is using full cpu power.
I prepared a scene in 3dmax with gi and things on. Rendered it home on 2ghz AMD2x and note down the time it took to render.Saved the file and rendered it at work on 2,4ghz c2d.The difference was exactly %17. Intel cpu's are not as fast as they declare.
According to this test, Intel 2.4ghz C2D works like a 2.34ghz AMDx2
I'd vote for the AMD. I use dual AMD at home and core2duo at work. Amd is 2.0 ghz and core2duo is 2.4 ghz.So there should be a performance difference of min.%20 percent. And maybe even more because the Core2Duo is a newer computer which means better ram speed and better harddisks and better mainboard and vista... But the real speed difference is %17(for cpu-intensive rendering process). This makes me think of AMD is still the better price-performance cpu in the market. I'd go for an AMD instead of Core2Duo.
Thanks for your answers!
But i'm dissapointed about the ram and linux multi-core issues. i'm not sure about buying it. I don't play much games other than LFS so i was thinking of using it as a mini render server..But seems not possible for now.
Hi guys!
I'm thinking of getting a ps3 these days but it is bloody expensive in my country.(nearly double the U.S. price) Will it be running full functionally if i buy it in U.S. and bring here? (i mean the electric cables and area code or things like that) And will i be able to connect to ps3 network..?And can i use my momo on ps3? And is it possible to upgrade it's ram with external memory cards? And is it really a super-fast computer under linux?
The idea is good but the problem is it won't work with lfs because ground is not flat.It has height too.So the shadow plane would not exactly fit on gruond plane... unless a projection is made.
This is a very annoying thing happened tonite which made me start to think about the lfs community..
I decided to do some racing on lfs today and started checking for servers. After refreshing the list i realised that there are no racers online doing proper racing.. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE...(ı got the screenshots of all the list so don't start "-oh yes we did good races you didn't see them...")
The city driving or cops&robbers servers are full, which is another thing i can't understand...This should be a racing simulator, not a f**king hangin'-around simulator.
The only server was a mexican server i managed to do a 5 lap race and there were 10 ppl on the server but they didn't restart the race. They just go to pits and come back, try to do idiot crashes, change skins...But no restart.. there were only 2 of us dying for a restart but nothing happened.
I disconnected from that and checked the list again..Oh yes there was another server with 3 ppl racing but they banned me when i just got connected...
Now i am connected to the redline racing server and will be racing on fox-as combo again.(till i get sick)
looks like we have to sign up for leagues to make proper races..
no, and no. gazelle is not injured and cheetah won't be friends. In fact i'd expect more clever questions like,"-which track?" or " how many laps?" or "-what about pitstops?"...
