Total hero right now!
Yea just drag the rear end into the asphalt, nice little guttering now for all the jet fuel/water mix they got goin there..
Quote from Cornys :Asphalt melts at 1000 degrees F.
Jet fuel burns at 600 degrees F

Track should be fine

But it can break up due to the big temperature differences.

Yep, and it looks like it has, but they ruined it with the groove they made in it now from dragging the rear of the jet drier rig.
Sry cornys but that looks pretty melted

Old track was alot worse so 1 little scrape that can
Probably patches as said shouldnt be too bad
A scratch that deep at 200mph is gonna rupture tyres or even cause suspension failures.
It would take hours to patch this, temperature and moisture will all play a role - it chucked rain all day yesterday, it's 93% humidity, they'll never get it to set in any decent time if the track is damaged.

If that track has an unsafe gouge or damage to the asphalt, it's over.
The fact the drivers are all out of the cars says all you need to know.

Yes true but it doesnt have to be patched tonight its nore rhan raceable from what we can see
Daytona (from personally being there in 2008 on an off weekend), was full of gouges from cars coming on and off of the track around the 31 degree banking prior to the repaving.

Track seems fine as I said it would be and hopefully they'll get back to racing before 11:30 hopefully.

PS: Remember that bad feeling that I had Friday night / Saturday morning about this race?
official word is hopefully 30 minutes
It's starting to look OK but I guess there's a difference between OK on tv and OK at 200 mph.
That groove that the jet drier made seems to have disappeared, must of been just an area that wasn't covered in shiney fluid
I saw some rain :s
That mark you guys seen was actually debris from the Jet dryer. The other little bits just got fixed with the bond.

Yea most probably. They should get spectators to clear up the track with 6 wide traffic XD
What are the odds a car hits the jet dryer?

A million to Juan.

That's so bad it's good...

Eitherway how many times is Larry gonna say drivers don't care about temp gauge 2 laps to go...
