I'm really sorry to hear that, if it happened to me i'd die on the spot. Most insurance companies are actually reasonably fast at paying out, the bit they suck at is giving you the real value of your equipment. I expect you will have the cheque within a fortnight, if you contest it like I had too when my car got writen off, it could be 3-4 months.

False alarm!! I spent more time looking at it and got it up and running, I thought it was toast the way it was acting but the HHD's just needed some TLC after being hard shutdown so many times =/ Computer is working now. There is some talk in Muroc of someone replacing me as a driver though. I am running DTM and thats taking up more of my time than I thought.

If you do drop I will give the space to the next driver on the waiting list, not a team mate - sorry - but it's not an exclusive club with black balls, it's an oversubscribed racing league .

The website server is down again and it's totally curry puckered this time, it might take a bit to get back up and running.

I'd like to thank various people for the offers of hosting, i'm affriad I have to turn them all down. Here's the full story.

I have multiple websites shifting several hundred gigabytes a month, sometimes into the terrabytes, and I cannot possibly afford conventional hosting for all of the data I shift. To get around this problem I have a friend who happens to own several internet hosting companies. My sites are hosted on one of his machines, in fact they take up an entire 200gb hard disk all too themselves.

Unfortunately the machine I am on has had several problems recently, first a Trojan infection and now something else has gone wrong.

Sadly these problems have co-incided with my friend suffering two quite major personal trajedies in a row and currently he is in a state of grief and really doesn't need to be worrying about my website right now - so i'm not pushing the point, and am waiting for normal service to resume.

If I was a regular customer things would be a little different and certainly i'd be voting with my cheque book or insisting I be moved to another machine, it is hugely frustrating and a royal pain in the neck, but i'd rather my friend sorts himself out than the web site right now.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience this is causing for STCC drivers, for people wanting to download my mods, and for traffic i'm loosing on my other web sites (which are all not for profit).

The server is now back up and running and should be ok now. It has been a case of unfortunate timing but, touch wood, provided there's no more problems in the immediate future whilst things are in the air all should now be fine.

Yes the server has gone again and I can't get hold of my friend at all at the minute.

EDIT: The server is currently up, but I cannot make any guarantees as to it staying up until after the funerals.

The STCC site is being migrated to a new server. Service interruptions are likely to occur over the next few days.

I really wish I could race, this league sounds like a lot of fun, but my computer is toast and I am moving it's just not possible to race this weekend, sorry =( I will be back next race though, least I better be =P

Website is behaving very strangely

Some of it works most of it does not.

Is this a result of you moving the website?

Yes, some of the pages are cached by servers between you and the STCC site. The site itself is down atm.

The main website should be back permanently now, YAY! It's just the forums to migrate. Some users in far off countries may not yet be able to access the site whilst the DNS records are updated. My email is still down too, i'll do that after.

still not working, links @ top bring up error messages (except regs)

That's a DNS issue, it will resolve over the next few days. I've got outbound email, the @banshee domain is taking me longer to move which effects my inbound email and the forums.

I think the forums might take me until next week, i've requested the DNS move but it's tied to an email address I use at work and I cannot collect/send from outside of the office network, so if they have any questions before they make the change I cannot answer them until i'm back in on Monday.

I think/suspect 57.7 is reasonable but not staggering for XRT, but league races are more about consistency and race craft than lap times anyway so if you have that you could do well regardless.

I'm having a small chicken and egg problem with the DNS registrar. I solved the problem of my work email address with a VPN connection (techy stuff) so i've tried again... We shall see!

i will be there (A. Hepp) i must be there but my teammate can't make it this time. they are furbishing their house so his computer surely will be in parts for over a week and he also had no time to practice. but he's already putting on the warpaint spiritually for round 2.
