The online racing simulator
The replays stops being recording if you change your control options, or do a few things like that.
You are not allowed to change most controls settings as well (for example brake help on/off, or from keyboard to wheel).
This is maybe the only way to avoid the usage of different settings as an advantage, and the only way to have consistant stats on lfs world.

suggestion: put a big and red "replay is not being recorded" in the top right corner of the screen, where the hlvc messages are.

[EDIT]
moo tristan :P
moo maybe, but your suggestion is a cracker!
not sure if its U20, but i seem to be getting a lot more "Could not initialise graphics" than i used to, however i am starting to put my pc in standby more, could this be the problem?
csurdongulos: Yeah i never pit while hotlapping, so that isnt the issue.
tristancliffe: Control Options... This might be the case. I sometimes change "Throttle cut on upshift" to No (depending on the car/track combo). I'll give this ago tomorrow.

Cheers guys, I'll report back once ive done some more hotlapping.

If you do that, then that is definitely the cause. You must always press SHIFT+R after changing control settings.

I've made a note about informing the user that the replay is not being recorded.

[ EDIT : I've now made it so that if you are set to record replays, but the current recording has been stopped, by changing controls or whatever, it now displays "Replay is not being recorded" at the top of the screen where it normally displays the frame rate or skin downloading message. ]
Is it not possible to record a new replay? I sometimes find it annoying that i cant record something because the replay has stopped being recorded for whatever reason.
yea a "start recording" hotkey would be nice sometimes
NO suggestions on this thread please!

Specially suggestions that have nothing to do with the test patch!

How many times will I need to ask the same thing? How many bright green announcements will we need to make at the top of the forum?

And if you would just think for 2 seconds, you would realise that is so blindingly obvious, if it was easy to do that, it would have been done long ago!

To start a replay from any arbitrary point is long requested but extremely difficult, requiring a store of every single variable of the game state, including the temperature and thickness of every part of a tyre, engine damage, speed, wind speed, wind direction, and *thousands* of variables, to avoid instant replay OOS.

duh, sorry didnt mean to overtake the thread
was just a sidenote.
Does anyone else have their LFS crash with or without the Patch at all? I seem to be having that problem lately.
No. Looked very stable. No change there. Didn't read any indications of a change in this thread or elsewhere.
Perhaps a ventilation problem in the case? Sometimes the airflow of fans decreases with time due to dust. If the problem persists, create a thread in the technical assistance-forum.

Vain
too much technical stuff here lol..

i just have read the first page. and i downloaded another test patch some time ago but after 2-3 days of use, the LFS gone wrong, i couldnt see any online servers and i had to re-download the previous lfs from the website. are there any known issues with this patch, or can i feel free to download this
U20 works very well, you should read the last page instead of the first since if U20 was completely broken, there'd probably be quite a few posts on it back here.

U20 is the best yet, so feel free to get it. Versions before U19 don't work online any more due to the updated cheat protection.
Hi!
I noticed a bug:
Sometimes there are no MPRs listed when "list all replays" is selected. This happened after saving a replay ingame and after opening an MPR from Windows (not the exact procedure to reproduce, just to let you know how the MPRs were saved).
Yes - that's already reported by a few people. There are no MPRs visible in "ALL" view if you don't have one SPR in the SPR folder. That's already fixed in my version.
Four players from my team has been testing this:

When doing ALT+TAB to go back to windows while running LFS, LFS randomly freezes. You have to do it 5-10 times, but then all the suddan you have a nice freeze, requiring you to hard reset the computer. I guess we all have nvidia cards, ranging from 6600LE to 6800GT. We believe this phenomen was introduced in patch U20. Can you please have a look and verify that there is a problem?

Thank you.

Jesper

Scawen recomends NOT doing this to ANY game, except if its in windowed mode, as alt + tab has a habit of breaking stuff, so shift + F4 first
......

Hopefully, I'm not wasting anyones time

I was wasting your time, sorry!
Quote from CharlieP :In previous U test patches I found that sometimes when setting fuel for a race that it would put less than requested in the tank......

This appeared to have dissapeared with U20, but last night I did a race with a pitstop and had 11% fuel to start and the 11% for the pit.

At half distance I had used just over 9% so was confident that being refuelled to 11% would suffice for the rest of the race.

I was surprised to run out of fuel 1 lap before the end, so I think I only got 9% instead of 11% at the pitstop.

I hope I didn't miss another entry for this problem as I have searched for it but couldn't find it.

Hopefully, I'm not wasting anyones time

At the pitstop, it fills the tank to x% of fuel - it doesn't add x% of fuel. Are you taking that into account?
I found another glitch/bug or maybe its not something like that but when i press the "pit in" button and hit esc right after that i am in twilight zone lol i mean im not spectator, on track or in the pits.

Another bug is at bl autox when starting from the pits, the last spawn point is somehow inside a fence or wall and the lucky one with this pit gets allways crashed right after pitout.

It is like Axus said. The setting "fuel at pitstop" does NOT mean you will get that amount ADDED, but only filled UP to that value. This is intentional, and no bug.

For example, fuel at pitstop set to 25%

You come into the pits with 6% => 19% added, result: 25%
You come into the pits with 22% => 3% added, result: 25%
You come into the pits with 32% => nothing done, result 32%

Ok, and besides that, after pit out, theres allready a number of fuel inside the engine right? If so, is that the same value for every car or does every car needs different fuel?
