I love the changes to the actual track, looks more realistic curb and layout wise and there's some fun new corners. Those new graphics are beautiful.
Fantastic update guys, looking extremely promising!

@Scawen would you be so kind as to provide some layout imagery as you did when I requested it for South City please? (https://www.lfs.net/forum/post/2013046#post2013046)
Quote from tankslacno :I'm also curious about the purpose of those chalk curves you can see on Oval when looking at oval turns 1 and 2. You can clearly see them when zooming picture #18 Smile

I think it's chicanes which may be used in some new alternate configs Uhmm
Damn. Na-na
really great job, cant w8 for some testing Na-naNa-naNa-na

Daytona Road Course came immediately to my mind with the possibility of oval section being slower by use of chicanes.

Eric, please tell me that if there actually will be an alternative configuration, where that oval section uses those chalk curves as chicanes to slow down drivers, you will give that track configuration a following name:

Kyotona.

Sorry...
We waited for the New Year's gift to try the new version, but the screenshot will satisfy us, thank you developers.
Liked this idea of "retro" version! hope sooner than later Smile thx!
Quote from Degats :

Well that has just upped my appetite.
Hope it's out in a reasonable timeframe! Smile

Also F1 Indy, a chicane a bit like that was one of the proposals to stop Michelin tyres falling apart, though it's in the wrong place

Yes, there's an Oval Chicanes configuration. It's fun when driving alone but can be a potential nightmare in a race.

Basically, it needs testing and feedback in the upcoming Beta test stage. Smile

Quote from tankslacno :When looking at the progress report and those images, I think at least following...

I've added 2 more configs (Sportscar and Endurance) which are based on the layouts used on the RTFR event series. Extra configs are easy-ish to add. I've also added a North Circuit based on a layout file that TFalke used for events, which is a blast to drive in most cars!

Nearer release, I aim get in contact with the original layout creators for their input.

Sounds wonderful! Thank you! Smile

I'm just curious, what is the main purpose for those two curves between pitlane and oval start/finish line that resemble a mini oval?

I guess, if anyone wants to add a mini oval in open configuration, they can use that area. Smile

Do I assume correctly the endurance configuration consists of the KY3 with KY2R infield in-between?

I hope it's OK to post these route images, with the disclaimer that any configuration could be be revised or removed.

I did take a closer look at each of those tracks in those images and can assume that the normal grid sizes for those track configurations are following (these can still change):

- Kyoto Oval/National: 48 at least in one of them, possibly in both
- Kyoto GP Long: 48
- Kyoto North: 40
- Kyoto Oval Chicanes: Possibly 32 or 40, when you zoom in picture 18, you can see those chalks overlapping KY1R/KY2R starting grid positions 33->.

- Kyoto Endurance: 48 highly likely
- Kyoto Sportscar: 48 highly likely
- Karting Track: No idea yet
- Car Parks (if Eric adds them as selectable track configurations) and Open Configurations: 48

And for people wondering, wait, 48 drivers on track? Well, you can see on those images that there are 48 start grid positions and we already have translation strings for positions 41st-48th, even though "only" 40 people can race at the moment. So, it's not that unexpected.
this update will blow everything out
so much new things to discover and enjoy

But I truly hope this is the last progress report before it Big grin
enough screenshots, let's roll ! Do it !

Best wishes u both Smile
