@Scawen would you be so kind as to provide some layout imagery as you did when I requested it for South City please? (https://www.lfs.net/forum/post/2013046#post2013046)
Daytona Road Course came immediately to my mind with the possibility of oval section being slower by use of chicanes.
Eric, please tell me that if there actually will be an alternative configuration, where that oval section uses those chalk curves as chicanes to slow down drivers, you will give that track configuration a following name:
I've added 2 more configs (Sportscar and Endurance) which are based on the layouts used on the RTFR event series. Extra configs are easy-ish to add. I've also added a North Circuit based on a layout file that TFalke used for events, which is a blast to drive in most cars!
Nearer release, I aim get in contact with the original layout creators for their input.
I did take a closer look at each of those tracks in those images and can assume that the normal grid sizes for those track configurations are following (these can still change):
- Kyoto Oval/National: 48 at least in one of them, possibly in both
- Kyoto GP Long: 48
- Kyoto North: 40
- Kyoto Oval Chicanes: Possibly 32 or 40, when you zoom in picture 18, you can see those chalks overlapping KY1R/KY2R starting grid positions 33->.
- Kyoto Endurance: 48 highly likely
- Kyoto Sportscar: 48 highly likely
- Karting Track: No idea yet
- Car Parks (if Eric adds them as selectable track configurations) and Open Configurations: 48
And for people wondering, wait, 48 drivers on track? Well, you can see on those images that there are 48 start grid positions and we already have translation strings for positions 41st-48th, even though "only" 40 people can race at the moment. So, it's not that unexpected.
