Well, After school today I'm going to pick it up, If it gives me crappy FPS, I'll just take it back for a store discount, hopefully it does work, becuase I need something to use my G25 to its absolute fullest, becuase LFS I'm too competitive to use H-Gate and stuff.
Quote from MAGGOT :Something to keep in mind, the PSP and PS2 versions are made by a different developer. Same cars/location, though. Apparently that developer has since been dropped by Atari, in favour of 'Eden Games' who is producing the 360 and PC versions. It sounds like the other developer (Madison House or something?) is better than Eden, though, despite being dropped.

Either way, I'm pretty disgusted with Atari right now. The whole online release thing was completely botched. I'm thinking I might pay for the download version, then download a DVD image from a torrent site and unlock it with my bought key; at least the DVD image version works.

Seems no one has had the downloaded version working yet.

I tryed last night to get a *coughpiratedcough* version working, but whatever I did, refused to work. Bloody SecuROM. I wish they used a copy protection that was much more friendly, like SafeDisk...

Sounds like you need an updated version of Daemon Tools

Stu... You clever bugger.
So, how's about creating a "Live for Speed" TDU Club?+

In Game, my name is ColeusRattus (surprisingly)
Well gumball rally can be done really well in this game.
Quote from Sketchyrollin564 :Hm.... so i read in a thread in here that the PS2 version will be out soon, but the physics are going to be more arcade-ey? Is this true? I dont get why they would make the physics more arcade-ish, just for a different.

If this is the case, i guess ill just get the PC version, but id really not want to take up 7.5 gigs on my computer just for the game.

Anyone?

Anyways, i might just get the PC version anyways, if you guys play that game online a lot.
How the hell do you get a wheel working with this game? Is a wheel any good? I've just been playing for 3 hours with the arrow keys trying to finally unlock the bike stores but the popo keep busting me and throwing me in jail. Driving around to unlock stuff has me cursing since it's like NFS, the physcics are just like NFS as well, even in Hypersport or whatever the most realistic mode is.

Graphics are superb though, HDR is gorgeous and not really over the top with bloom effect. I wish LFS had the same collisions
In the control options in the beta you had to tick a box on the last tab to enable the wheel, I had the same problem lol. Not sure about the retail version but it can't be that much difference.
what an amazing game so far its only crashed about 10 times (twice of which completely killed my pc)
you can really tell the hell knights did an amazing job betatesting this piece of sheer magic
the beta testers reported tons of bugs, and they released the game anyways with many of the same bugs. i know cus i was one of the betatesters.

and people still continue to go out and buy the game...

I did warn here how it is going to be released buggy and still they buy it, it seems to be that quite little amount of reported bugs were fixed and as long as they get money they don't need to fix it, I really don't believe they care even a little from customers, based to what I have seen and heard now.

I was one of testers too.
I haven't come across any bugs yet. Although I am on a very fresh windows install. Oh for soem reason I can't get my wheel working hehe that might be a bug.
I got it to run now, well... run... no matter what I do I can't get more than 40fps.. That is 640x480 low detail for ya... its about 28 at 1024 high detail, when I'm about to leave my 'crib' (uhh).. But that still reminds me of my Geforce 2 as far as smudged gfx go..

It is really too slow. It would always be a big big pain to get 'points' or whatever that is to unlock the hardcore mode, but at these framerates its even worse. There is about 0.5 seconds input lag as well! LOL Press gas.. wait.. VROOM.. ah..

My sempron 64 at 2.5ghz (athlon64 with a bit less cache) scores at least equal to a 'normal' AMD64 3800+, often faster.. A 6800GT card isn't anything special but it should not have to struggle to get 35fps at 640x480 :O

I don't know.. What is the worse type of piracey. Try before buy or game companies releasing unoptimized crap?

A quick LFS comparison, I think I had my CPU at 900mhz and a half grid of AI before I got sub 20fps at 1600x1200 8xaf 8xaa.. I can barely reach 20fps in TDU at 1600x1200, no aa no af and 1600mhz more
Your lucky. I get somewhere in the region of 0.1 FPS. I guess we're really talking Frames Per MINUTE here.
*Waits for patch*
Does nobody want to answer my question?

LOL...FPM...
thats a great way to put it
I get a playable FPS with my Sempron 2600+, 1.5 GB RAM, Nvidia 6600GT (128 MB RAM) on 1024 with medium settings, and I'd run at 800X600 if my monitor didn't like die when I put it at that resolution.
3800+ X2 @ 2.5ghz, 7900GS and plays fine at 1280x720 full detail with HDR enabled but I've sacrificed AA. Don't really need it since the graphics are pretty damn sharp anyway.

imo its mostly down to the cpu.
ive got an athlon xp 2600+ at 1.9 ghz and an 7600 GS (well, played the demo with my old radeon 9600 pro, but they are both about the same).
could set a higher res, more details or reversed, didnt make a difference at all.
just like in ArmA (Armed Assault) where my cpu stops me too
I haven't encountered any serious bugs, except that it crashes to desktop when I have to game devices (wheel + gamepad) plugged in. Until that issue is resolved, it seems I have to drive the bikes with the wheel, which feels very awkward.

But hey, to those who have it already, post your cars!

Here are mine:

Nobody knows really, they are more simple for sure as PS2 is too weak. Look how in this thread people are having problem running game with good hardware on PC, PS2 is quite weak system already so they must make it really simplified.

It did not have any change no matter how I did changed detail settings too, A64 3200+ cpu. It has some serious issues with how it is coded or something.

Some are lucky that it works in their systems, but seem to be that there are awful lot of people having really big problems. They knew it when making game and still they did released it, guess they have no intention to fix it.

well we will see about a "fix".
i still wanna get, right away with a newer cpu (which wont be much faster guessing something around the 100€ mark, so it wont be too big).
as far as ive read they fixed the stuttering issue? that was the most annoying thing.
i could deal with low fps that aint a biggie.
it still stutters for alot of people
