I guess replays do work similarily to LFS, you just put replay file to replay folder?

Well anyway I attach my rally school replay from 2004 when I drove more of this, not very clean driving, but my excuse is that I raced with my brother trying to beat him, well couldn't do as that was my best try and he did even faster

Might help to see how agressive you have to be.

Quote from Shotglass :youre obviously cheating ... being finnish and all that

Well see replay above, certainly cheating as I cut corner there, but then again I saw today some rally stage from older rally this year where they did cut as badly also
Quote from The Moose :RBR Audio http://www.bhmotorsports.com/download/8479

That's old, haven't tested but 2re has released a newer sound pack and it's probably better: http://www.bhmotorsports.com/download/15626

Nope... it's actually quite retarted, you have to have exactly same physics and car model in the particular "car slot" than the replay has. Otherwise no go.
Does any1 know hot could i play in 1680x1050 resolution? Becoz i must have everything in this res, otherwise it looks...
Please help
edit the .ini
but than the textures will be still in 800x600 or w/e ? well ill try,thx
Quote from Shotglass :edit the .ini

Yer that works fine.

As for RSRBR, a while ago I had nearly all of the torrent apart from the last part which was like 10mb, no one ever seeded it though so I never got it in the end Would still like to try it.
Just done a 1:17.42 on the rally school, I can probably go a little bit faster but the ghost car is a pain in the arse and gets in the way when you drop just a few tenths. Its those damn Fords that really get in the way, and I've never stayed on the track on the last turn.

(sorry for double post but I think we need a good RBR thread)
Rallying's not really my thing, but i'm really enjoying RSRBR in the 1600's at the moment. Much slower, more forgiving, and easier to keep on track for a Noob like me (cockpit views are much better than the standard RBR ones to)

Tried the WRC's on the Japanese Rally but spent most of the time driving through six foot high grass looking for a tree to hit, i thought i had better start with something a little bit easier

Steep learning curve, can be frustrating, but fun non-the-less !
Haha.. I've been on holiday for about a week (and so without my PC) and it took me a good few minutes hurriedly searching thorugh the thread before I found out that 'RBR' was Richard Burns' Rally and not some souped up WRC version of the RB4 and a LFS game-mode to go with it that had been added while I was away...

go to Richard Burns Rally\Cars folder, open GhostCarSettings.ini and change MaxOpacity to 0.0... ghostcar is gone
Just managed a 1.19.x on the first time I got through the stage, which I have to admit was after 8 or so restarts. I don't remember the FF to be this laggy respectively the setup to be this crappy, then again this was the first time I played RBR since I got my G25 and I never liked the Subaru much to begin with. Unfortunately the menu still crashes randomly, even with the RenderQuality fix applied.

I play in window and haven't got menu crash problem at all now, don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.
I found the game at 4€ this afternoon. I can't wait to try it

Might just be the best 4€ you've spent.

Quote from wheel4hummer :I am a terrible driver in RBR, I know that. My problem definitely is speed. I actually have noticed some improvement in my driving. I don't flip the car (As much) like I did when I first played.

Since I don't have my wheel here I went on RallySchoolStage with my keyboard. The result was 1:17.93 which would be better with my wheel. Problem you have is that you don't slide - you simply can't drive like that on loose surface. Go to rally school, practice the techniques to get the car sideways and keep it right to the end of the corner. When I get my wheel I'll upload Pirka and Falstone for you

Congrats! Remember to get 1.20 patch, link was somewhere in this thread.

I did test bit of Lada mod car and it is really nice, not for beginners for sure, but very enjoyable to drive, also very difficult to drive, 4 minutes at Harwood Forest and lot of errors, look here is video from it

Edit:
One thing to remember is also that don't concentrate too much to next corner, but corner after that, you just need to keep car and momentum of the car to direction you like to go, hard to explain, but you need to think lot more ahead than on track, car is not meant to grip and you have to manipulate slides so that you are moving correct direction for next corner, while carrying as much speed as possible trough corners. Steering is used just to keep angle from changing too quickly and it is pretty much throttle and brakes that is used to turn car together with momentum. Something like that...

The game keeps crashing in the menu!

I haven't even been able to complete the control setting once. it always crashes at some point. At the very beginning I saw in a bracket "No SSE" which could explain the problem since my CPU is too old to know those instructions. Well I guess I'll have to wait for a new computer. Maybe in november!

Edit: The game was updated to v1.02

Then make sure you edit the ini, I posted settings earlier to this topic, I run SSE exe but no SSE exe does work well too, but it is important to edit ini to have those certain parameters correct, for some reason it does not work otherwise.

Where did you get RSRBR from? Is there a new link on Blackhole?

edit@ nvm I've got it: http://files.filefront.com/RSR ... /;8188864;;/fileinfo.html

It worked!

Thanks a lot

The car's not easy to control and the gear box is really short but this game is a blast
