can i play lfs on ps3?

If you get a Linux running on it and then install Wine... maybe.

I said this without being really sure, but makes sense.
then i have no idea why auto companies would give free licencing to GT since they are so good and would be equivalent to free advertising.

PS. the posts about my posting is not relevant to the PS3 conversation. thus off topic. it doesn't matter if i start a thread that you guys so passionately hate(which i now discover). but i am just not giving up hope on the gt5 yet, and just wondering what you guys think of the next installment of GT.

and BTW, i am not talking about gt because of it's [gorgeous]graphics. it's because of it's [supposedly] coveted physics
it might have weird physics in the previous games but it's still hard to drive and, by definition, NOT an arcade game.

arcade type game- easy to play but amusing.
ie-Forza, where every car has massively unlimited grip.
Well you have to talk about the pretty graphics, because it is all the game has going for it. We are judging GT5 on videos we have seen, you know the ones where cars brake and turn like F1 cars and never produce any oversteer. If you want you can ignore the posts and just look at the poll, you are the only one who voted PS3...perhaps trying to justify you decision to spend way too much money for something so crap.
well, i just thought the cars where going slow, or they have good tires...

and i have not voted yet, the one ps3 vote was a mistake from someone else, they said "whoops, ment pc"

I played the one track demo that came out some time ago in a friend's house, and I can say it's an improvement over GT4, I nearly was able to make a donut with the 599 Fiorano (or was it a Scaglietti?)... it was very close LOL.

Better than GT4, but still GT.
Can't even call GT a sim 3 was rubbish and so was 4, the best game for consoles what comes near to a sim is forza motorsport 2, it is a very good game and puts the GT series to shame IMO.

To the guy who said forza gives you loads of grip, turn the driving aids off then race, thats where you are going wrong, I cant keep my S class 1990 RX7 straight all the time going through corners, back end always comes out.
#58 - wien

Nope. Wine doesn't emulate the x86 processor, just the WIN32 API (and cousins). Wine won't work on systems with a non-x86 processor (Like Cell). Doesn't really matter though. It wouldn't be able to run LFS with reasonable FPS anyway.

From 200 km/h to 50 km/h in few meters, pretty good tyres. And brakes too.
You know, its quite stupid to make a topic asking a question like that on a PC Race Simulation forum.

Well yes, but its even more stupid asking the question in the first place.
Anyone who knows anything about sim racing knows that consoles just don't do sims.

I have nothing against consoles. If there was a top quality sim on a console I'd buy one straight away.

only problem with that game is the console its on.
(only reason i say this is i despise the controller)

GT has being around for years they are experienced in making the game forza has had how long so don't contest,

to finalise the damage system for GT how many cars are there? how many tracks, if thinking about the physics in a crash and just driving on the road and the graphics it will be a few more years before the technology can handle this sort if thing. i couldn't imagine the difficulties in doing this and fitting it all on one disc fat chance lol

rumors have being going around for years about damage to be done in GT but its just the same as DNF not going to happen nice to dream about it but still not happening,

what do you see more of in a house cockpits made for game consoles or pc?

only console ive bought lately was a wii who needs good graphics when even ur gf can play with you and not wine about it being boring because she cant figure out the controls all tho it does gather dust.

FPS mouse only cant play it otherwise. keep consoles to what they are ment for street fighter and so on thats how it used to be or the older mario bros.

but hey thats my oppinion everyone is diff!

if u cant understand it read it twice im dyslexic(soon enough people will know and i can just stop writing this i am still trying to improve my spelling and so on to help u guys understand me apologies again)

The cell processor is PPC (I think) architecture rather than X86, so WINE will not compile/run/work.

That's why I spoke, but I didn't vote in this poll
hey, yall, i just tested GT5 prologue demo at my friend's house yesterday...

it had the same GT feel, with new graphics.

turning- It was kinda heavy and easily skidding, but on the other hand you ARE going 170mph around a corner, whadoya expect? and no flippage of cars.

brakes- moderating on the brakes did not help me, i had to lock the brakes to prevent shooting off the edge of the asphalt. shows that locking brakes help the braking distance

accelerating- no sense of agony for faster speeds like you get in the older GT games. Very responsive accelerating.

damage- no brake fades, tire damage, or damage to speak of, a head on collision at 200mph doesn't look or feel as frightening as a head on in LFS at 70mph. You CAN, though, warm up your tires, but it never overheats. and for the matter, you can "slingshot" off of other players and foul them without serious consequences which makes it amazingly annoying since you will be off the road every other turn, because people use u as a brake...

Clutch- What Clutch? although Polyphony digital is promising a clutch with damage in the full GT release.

TCS- WTF??? i thought those where illegal in sanctioned races??? but you CAN turn them off, it won't help you much anyways. the difference is that you can corner about 35mph faster in a sweeper if you have everything turned on to full traction control system.

Graphics- no those things you see on the internet are not "bullshot" they are genuinly realstic graphics.

Conclusion- IDK, there was no real cars or cars i can get my hands on to compare performance modeling, although i think they nailed the fact that the GTR is heavy
So your telling us what 99% of us knew would happen with GT5 then.

Fancy graphics, same old shite game underneath.

What a surprise
sorry about wasting ur time guys...

but just to make sure, LFS has the best traction modeling right?

or is that NC2003?
