Well because it could be better with a different engine. Not really a hard concept to understand, people have done engine swaps in cars before.
You wouldn't have to chop up the bodywork at all, you have to remember here I actually know what I'm talking about so making passing comments like that isn't really going to lead anywhere. That said I know people who have chopped them up (and other other Fiesta's) and fitted Cossie engines and running gear etc. Again this isn't unheard of in the car modifying/building world.
I seem to remember a few posts back you saying you were more passionate about cars due to your likes/dislikes. I think we've shown in this thread you don't really know a lot about them, which is fine, but doesn't really give you a leg to stand on when it comes to valued opinions.
edit: Yes the 16v Zetec is bigger than the engines available in the MK1, but to be pedantic the 2.0 and 1.6 are exactly the same physically outside.
