Hi meanie,

We had contact about this before, so I hope you read this. We decided to open signup for Div A to anyone who can set a decent time, so if you go to www.owrl.de you can now find the event signup for our Div A races.

See you there

I posted that I was interested as well. As for location and budget I do not really mind, go with what suits most people.

Quote from Darkone55 :Well, Overijssel is not really located very central or anything. And harder to get with public transport or anything. Around Utrecht sounds ok. The Driebergen one sounds cool.

BTW, Krutch where's the big news about NL winning the LFS World Series on simracing.nl? :P

Good idea! You or anyone else willing to write this news item? I'd move it in the right section

I'd be interested as well so you can put me down on the list.

You guys certainly want to post this on www.simracing.nl as well as that is were the Dutch league is hosted. Also, there is a meeting of that community in SimWorld in Haarlem this month. There are only a few places left and up to now, not many 'LFS'ers' have signed up. Simworld only has rFactor (except for the Force Dynamics 301 of course!) but sim racing with 30 at the same location is great fun regardless of the sim.

And don't forget to sign up for the dutch league starting on 11th September here.

For this meeting, the location of the track ist mir egal.

Dutch drivers race for Malawi

Calling all Dutchies!

Update: There is still room left on our server tonight, so we'll open up participation for anyone. If you want to participate just for the fun of it, just leave a message here or pm me. I will then send you the server info for the races tonight. It is also possible to participate in only the first or the second hour.

Races and timing (CEST):
20:00-20:10 - Q race 1
20:15-20:30 - Race 1 (FWD GTR @ FE3) - 11 laps
20:35-20:50 - Race 2 (FWD GTR @ FE3) - 11 laps
21:00-21:15 - Q race 3(FBMW @ AS2)
21:20-21:55 - Race 3 (FBMW @ AS2) - 38 laps

For the first time this year we have a race in our beloved dutch community, Simracing.NL. Go here for all details.

This race was set up because we had no LFS races so far this year on Simracing.NL and as a fundraiser for a project in Malawi, one of the poorest countries in Africa. Participants are asked to make a donation for this project which involves, among others, oprhan care.

SimWorld, the Dutch Simracing centre, decided to sponsor this event with two sessions in their G-Driver Experience (with the Force Dynamics 301) as prizes!

With this event being on July 1st in under a week from the LFS World Series race, one of the races involve the FBM @ Aston Club. The Dutch drivers will be better prepared than anyone else trying to make up a two points deficit to the Germans for the lead in the championship!

I maybe would join if I can combine it with a visit to some friends in southern Germany. So yes I'm interested, but I can't say for sure if I will attend yet. Keep me informed!

How about time? The DP01 was designed with the distinct possibility that it could race on ovals, but as Champ Car no longer does it wasn't really the first priority to test it and develop it to the point where you could enter it in a race.

The IRL season is only a month away from its first race, so no way they can do it until then. Officials first need to get everything working for this season, so it is too early for discussing what will happen in the longer future.

The second issue at the moment is that there are more Dallara's around than Panoz.

But the main reason for going with the Dallara is that's the indycar and this isn't a merger. The Champ Car owners just gave up.

Quote :and why Surfers Paradise has to be a non-championship event in 2008~?

The race in Chicagoland on 7 September has a contract that says its the final race in the championship. But they are probably negotiating to chance that. We'll hear more in the upcoming week.

That's because this is not a merger. Champ Car ceases to exist and the IRL continues with most of the Champ Car teams and a few of its venues. They'll even be racing with the IRL's Dallara's instead of the much better looking Panoz DP01...

I'm sad the better one of the two had to go. Hopefully something can be build up from here. For now I have to see if I really can be interested in following a serie led by Tony George.

For anyone that does like the FBM (and has a valid S2 license), the Open Wheel Racing League starts a season with the car on February 9th. More info can be found in our league subsection on this forum and on our website: www.owrl.de

Thanks to the devs for adding another great open wheel car

As I said this is an old thread, so they raced their last season.

The chicane was left as it is. On friday several drivers where struggling to find a good line and one or two spinned their, but no incident happened in the race.

The best story of the weekend was the USA national anthem. Turned out that the guy who was supposed to sing the American and Dutch anthem only thought he had to sing the Dutch one. He didn't even knew the words for the American anthem. So the circuit announcer had a go at it:

Quote from joshdifabio :Does this idea genuinely appeal to people, and would you be willing to parse replays and upload the results files to the website?

From a user viewpoint, I'd find this interesting but as with most of such things, I'll probably would not make use of it very much. Maybe when I find a friendly driver online and would like to know what kind of experience he has.

If you are going to make this I'll add the OWRL results and replays.

Champ Car is my favourite racing series. As you can see in my signature, I write for a CC-news site. Have a lot of contacts with fellow Champ Car-fans and look really forward to the Euro tour CC is going to make this year.

Grats to Husky! Enjoy your ride!

I guess we also have to say thank you to Intel for organizing this and promoting LFS

The only problem I have with this is that Husky is now didn't had the time to train for the OWRL F1 event tonight! Now Stoddart is in Champ Car maybe we can offer a Minardi F1 two-seater ride to motivate the OWRL F1 drivers better

Champ Car needs him to promote the race in China and that's the only reason he drives in the Atlantics now. I expect as much from him as those two or three 40+ years old that sitll compete in the Atlantics, which is otherwise a very interesting series!

A better story about the Atlantics is that from Alan Sciuto. Last weekend, he heard his team (Gelles Racing) was not going to race in the Atlantics this year. So what did Sciuto? He managed to start up his own team, get an engineer and other personnel, a car and register himself officially in two days. He'll be on the grid next sunday in Las Vegas. Respect!

CHAMP CAR WORLD SERIES ANNOUNCES THE ADDITION OF TWO EUROPEAN EVENTS TO THE 2007 CALENDAR

The Champ Car World Series today announced that it will return to Europe for the first time since 2003 with inaugural races in Holland and Belgium. Events added to the Champ Car World Series calendar will take place September 2 at the TT Circuit in Assen, Holland and September 9 at the Zolder circuit in Belgium. It will be the first time that Champ Car has raced in either of the two European nations.

Even though it was already clear Champ Car was working on a return to Europe, it's great to see it officialy confirmed. This year's calendar now features 17 races, the new car is looking great. Can't wait for the season to start in Las Vegas.

For Assen & Zolder, I'll be at both. I live almost exactly in between both circuits

it's from the same company that first was supposed to do a ChampCar game - never heard of that one since October 2005. Not sure if anything will come from them.
