Back to LFS after a year or two, small issue!

Hi all,

This is probably something stupid but why is it that when you crash now the car dies? Is there a way to start it again? I.e an ignition button?

When I want to much around or drift its a bit annoying having to restart all the time!

Cheers.

Quote from dropin_biking :My friend just bought an '84 RX-7 actually. The rear rotor is gone, but he sent the whole engine out for a rebuild and bridgeporting So that will be fun as a bat out of hell when it gets back. The interior and body is in flawless condition. As for old PC's. I have a shitty 5 year old Celeron backed by 16MB intergrated graphics, I know how you feel If my gay-ass parents didn't have me paying rent I might be able to build up a decent Core 2. But congrats on the build, and good luck with that 7, looks like a beauty.

P.S props to your friend for going the bridgy.

They are appealing to a niche market here guys. Nothing wrong with that.

And I daresay they will get buyers through this website because in the LFS community there are some hardcore sim players always on the look out for an extra gadget to add to the realism of a game.

It's a good idea but i'd prefer to just go for a drive in rl.

Nvidia's actual videoboards Both 8800gts and gtx have problems with texture aliasing.

Older Ati graphics like the x1900xtx have better overall image quality and blending, wich "should" mean that newer ati boards should be better ingame but with faster fps.

i agree with Jakg... Ati drivers suck... and i hate ati boards, but in the end i found myself "not so satisfied" with the dual 8800gts sli upgrade that recieved one of my computers.. and i had two side to side to compare and to confirm that something was wrong with the nvidias.

It happens even with the 8800gtx at 1680x1050 at the highest quality configuration.

hey mate, i have an SLi setup with 2 8800gts 640M and havent had any issues yet. what problems did you have?

The 8800GTS is fricken huge, I laughed when I first saw one.
Having an 8800gts 640 myself i would say go for that, my previous cards were ATi and i always had issues.

having said that maybe do a lot of research on the ati card that jakg suggested versus the 8800gts 320/640. if its only for LFS maybe go for the cheaper one.

I like the bump and jump track in blackwood. the car park one i have to say i hate however.

Unfortunetely the majority of the time I am the only one in the server. I must be awake when most of you are asleep lol. (Australia).

Wow, I've only been playing LFS for the past month or so and I think I've seen about 10 of these threads haha.

Maybe Demo users should have theire own special F&F forums done in f&f livery.

Couldnt find anything but I will live in hope that an adaptor will be made for xbox and xbxo 360.

Oh woops, I meant to say i've been using all your FOX sets on all the different tracks.

I particularly like the feel of the Aston Historic setup!

Hey mate,
I've been using your FOX setup on a majority of tracks and found it to be the best so far. I have changed it very very slightly but its great.

Quote from Big Daddy :Hi Riders Motion,

yes you are defenately right, this is unresponsible, thats why I also thought to make courses then rent a car over and over again.

The problem on track days is that insurance won t cover accidents, so I would have to pay them myself, the controverse is that in open roads I will have insurance, even if one crashes with much more higher speed then allowed.

Oh yes, I believe that those car are defenately better then the Merc for drifting, they have a natural feeling, no electronics, less weight. In the Drift course I would like to take part they have Mitsubishi Lancer !!

The people who run the drift course use a front wheel drive car? Or is it an evo (AWD) converted to RWD?

Driftland was fun.

Good practicing linking up drifts and general circle work.

To be fair when I was playing demo version there were heaps of people willing to help me out with setups and questions etc.

There are always going to be annoying people though, whether it be demo or S1/S2.

From what I have seen on the forums, It is because a lot of demo users appear to crack the game and then come on here with the status of demo user in there avatar to request skins and mods that clearly a demo user cannot use.

Sorry for the stupidly long sentence.

*shoves the cookie into French's mouth*

haha noo i kid.

but seriously, most people in America refer to them as shifter boots..

Oh and Mr Rotary.. when I first saw your icon I thought it was a real-life XR. Hah.

That is understandable, someone else once said the same thing. It's actually my rl car (and baby) a s2 rx7. I think the XR is more similar to the later series rx7's (4 and 5) personally but it is hard to tell with my small avatar pic.

Sorry to go OT.
