Man I still like this mod so much. It looks so good, and even better after the update with the window tint.
Would you be able to add another configuration?
Maybe one with window tint also on the front side windows, so it's not just the rear windows, but also next to the driver and front passenger windows. This would make the car look even better in my opinion Big grin

Man this mod is sooo great! It's such a pleasure to reenact those old Taxi movies from my youth Big grin
I also really like the way you added the transformation parts, very well done!

-----------

I just have a few suggestions to turn this epic mod into an even better mod.

When I get inside the first time, I notice that my default seating position is very high. Also when you look from the outside, the driver sits fairly high inside the car. Could you maybe lower the driver position, so his head is like halfway at the window, instead of all the way at the top? I understand that this may cost some work, but I think it is worth it.

And another, more easy suggestion is this: I noticed the reverse gear is veeeeeery long. Like with the default gearing it goes over 140 kmh in reverse. It's an easy way to burn your clutch Frown
For comparison, the 3rd gear also goes to around 140 kmh. Personally I would to suggest to have the Reverse gear ratio somewhere between 1st and 2nd.

And another suggestion is to add an inside rear view mirror, because it's missing Shrug

And another few small suggestions, but these is more optional, if you feel like modding some more Smile
-Could you maybe give players the option of having rear seat passengers?

-Could you maybe add a little window tint? Not too much tho, not full black like limo, but just a little.

-The rear licenseplate seems somewhat bend (not straight), is it possible to make this straight?

Again, these last 3 suggestions are just small, you dont need to do them. I would prefer to see the first 3 suggestions done: The driver position, the reverse gear, and the rearview mirror. Thumbs up

Nevertheless, its already an EPIC mod! 5 stars! Big grin

How is LFS developments going?

Hello devs and other members of the LFS community.

As we can see from the youtube channel from LFS (https://www.youtube.com/@liveforspeed/videos), it has been quite a while since the video's of the day/night cycle and updated South City came out. Now as far as I know there isn't currently any minor test updates thing going on. I was wondering how it's going with these bigger updates.

Also, is it more of a money issue or a time/effort problem that the update still isn't out yet? I mean, I can understand if there is a money issue, since a large update doesn't immediately translate into more income from the whole LFS project. I mean we all have bills to be paid right?
Or is it more of a problem where the devs simply don't have time anymore, due to other obligations/relations/family expansion/etc. I would be happy to get clarification on how it's going with the LFS development.

Thanks in advance for you answer.
New command: /mute <username>

It may be worth considering to add a simple /mute command to the game. This way admins have the option to mute a certain person who is speaking inappropriately/annoyingly in the chat. It's a nice alternative to simply kick or ban a player.

For example, say a player's username is Fastest123.

Now commands that could be used could the the following:

/mute Fastest123
This command will mute the player for an indefinite period.

/unmute Fastest123
This command will unmute the player.

/mute Fastest123 180
This command will mute the player for 180 minutes. After this time, he/she is automaticly unmuted.

Having a mute command could be abit nicer and less radical than immediately kicking or banning a person.

(Ps, sorry if your username is actually Fastest123. I don't mean any harm.)

Adding roadsign objects
Marty_Deslions
S3 licensed
Small suggestion, since currently the LFS team seems to be working on the small test patch update things.

What if you would add a few roadsigns that can be placed as objects, just like other objects like barriers and chalk?

This can help improve the experience on cruise servers.

Like signs that indicate a direction traffic needs to go like a one-way road or something.

Man this mod looks so nice, inside as well as outside. Job well done!

I just have one small request. It seems the driver sits abit high in the car, is it possible you lower the model abit?

ps. also the front foglights dont seem to work?
Controller/gamepad Throttle/Brake separation
Marty_Deslions

I am using a xbox 360 controller for years now. I have my throttle and brake combined, because lfs recognizes the two shoulder triggers (LT and RT) as one single axle, rather than two. Now I know that there are additional program(s) you can download to fix that issue and to separate the axles, so you are able to give throttle as well as brake. (for doing a burnout, or for pro driving or whatever)

But I don't think it doesn't have to be so cumbersome. If a small program can fix this problem, why not include in within LFS? If other games like BeamNG and what else dont have this problem, why does LFS?

So my suggestion is to make LFS see the LT and LR as seperate axles so throttle and brake don't have to be combined.

Would you be able to add a configuration with window tint?
Inspiration for an updated Fern Bay
Marty_Deslions
S3 licensed
So back in the day I used to play NFS Hot Pursuit 2 for pc. I had good memories of it. I recently started playing it again, man what a good vibes that classic game has. The cars, the music, and the maps. But let's talk about the latter, more specificly the tropical island map. Man that island has such good vibes. It reminded me of Fern Bay, which made me make this suggestion.

So I was thinking, what if the LFS devs took some inspiration from this map in NFSHP2? I mean, it has such nice vibes to it. A tropical island, abit Hawaii like, with nice flowing/smooth roads, the sun that is setting, and palm trees that hang over the road. You drive through a nice American-styled city called "Palm City", or go through the outskirts, or through a tunnel, or past a waterfall or through some small hut village. It really has nice vibes to it, and I think the devs could consider getting some inspiration from this map for a future update of Fern Bay. Maybe make it abit less racetack-like and more openroad like? Maybe add some buildings/style element like the ones from Palm City?

If you want to see for yourself, please watch/scroll through these vids:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1f1qRYb5xa0

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mprVsKj0oEs

Please take note of the different elements on the map. The shape of the roads, the number of palm trees, etc.

lol, it would actually be funny if they could just swap the whole tropical map from NFSHP2 into LFS. But thats probably not as easy as it sounds...

Quote from Degats :Does /shift 3 show the message?
If it does, that's an alternative to /light head next if you want the message

that works! tslm

for my x360 controller i had first this /press 3 command, and i wanted to turn it into the shift+3 command, but /press shift+3 doesnt work :/

But /shift 3 works! gg

Hey Scawen, could you also add to the interface the "Lights: off/side/low/high" message when the player does the /light head next command? Now it appears when you manually press SHIFT+3, but not when you run the /light head next command.

good patch tho, gg

Its nice to drive a more premiumlike electric vehicle like this. gg

Could you update the interior? The dashboard is ok i guess, but when you look to your sides, the door and seats look abit outdated and low quality. It would be nice to see them getting more HQ textures
Marty_Deslions

They could even simplify it by just defining difference between the transmission type. Since when a vehicle is electric, the transmission type is "electric".

So maybe just a filter with
Transmission:
- H Pattern
- Sequential
- Motorbike
- Flappypaddle
- Electric

This way they don't have to add a value to all the mods, they can just keep them as they are, and only have to add a filter option.
Aditional search filter for modlist (ingame)
Marty_Deslions
S3 licensed
So as you may know, when you open the modlist in game, you can narrow your modsearch with filters like Class and Show, or even by typing the modname out.

However, in my opinion this can be improved. There could/should be another filter for the propulsion type (or fuel type maybe). This way players can let only electric vehicles show, for instance. Or maybe only combustion engine vehicles. Or maybe even pedal vehicles (like bicycles). However, this last one doesn't really have to be added.

To make things easier, maybe make it just 2 categories:
- gasoline/gas/diesel/ICE
- electric/pedalpowered

I would appreciate it if this minor improvement could be incorporated into the game.

Quote from Scawen :With such a report, it is better if you can tell me a specific bike and roughly what speed and what you were trying to do. Otherwise I really have no idea where to start.

The Trex bicycle. But maybe dont change it just for me if the bike pros think its better this way. It just takes some getting used to, for me i guess

Quote from GT4_PL :Can you please add a feature in terms of replays?
"Save last 5 minut clip"
Save the last 5 minutes of a replay instead of the whole replay because it’s so annoying with long replays and the time to load it
last paragraph sucks remove.

good suggestion, would be a nice feature to have with the next (minor/test) update.

Quote from LFS NISSAN :A fixed flag? It looks stiff. I won't consider it.

Allright, but what about a configuration with only the tint but without the warning lights?
Marty_Deslions

This car with tint looks good, could you make a configuration with the tint, but without the red/blue lights up front?

Also, but this may be a more complicated idea, how about a configuration with 1 or 2 small flags at the front of the car? These flags can be colored in the garage.

Suggestion: Vehicle Exiting and Walking Feature

Dear LFS community,

I'd like to propose an idea that I believe could further enhance the immersion and experience of our beloved game, especially for cruise servers.

The idea I'd like to discuss revolves around introducing a new feature: the ability to exit your vehicle and take a stroll on foot. I envision this as an optional feature, primarily aimed at the vibrant cruise servers where we engage in city driving. While racing will always be the core of LFS, I believe that adding the option to step out of your vehicle could introduce a new dimension to our gameplay.

Key features of this concept would include:

Optional Functionality: This feature would be entirely optional and could be enabled or disabled by server administrators/hosts. This way, players on cruise servers could enjoy the added function and exit/enter their vehicle, while pure racing servers can maintain their focus on the thrill of the race, and force the driver to stay in their car.

Safety First: To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all players, an unsolid body mechanic could be implemented when the player has left his/her vehicle. This would prevent exited players from being affected by collisions with vehicles, much like the approach seen in games like GTA.

Personal Vehicle Interaction: Players would only be able to exit and re-enter their own vehicles, adding an element of realism and preventing any potential griefing scenarios.

I believe that implementing such a feature could open up a world of new possibilities for our community. Imagine meeting fellow players on the virtual streets, engaging in impromptu interactions, and adding an extra layer of realism to the city driving experience we all enjoy.

I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback on this idea. Let's discuss the potential benefits, concerns, and ways to make this feature blend seamlessly into the world of Live For Speed. Together, we can contribute to the evolution of LFS.

ChatGPT seems to have abit more tact than I do on this subject, so I'll leave this to them.

Hello fellow LFS enthusiasts,

I hope you're all doing well. I wanted to take a moment to discuss our shared passion for Live for Speed. It's a fantastic racing sim that has brought us many enjoyable moments over the years.

As you might know, it has been quite some time since the 20th-anniversary article teased new content and updates for the game. While I understand that the development team consists of a small number of individuals, I must admit that the prolonged silence has left me a bit concerned.

I want to express my appreciation for the work they have put into LFS thus far, and I'm genuinely excited about the potential updates mentioned in the anniversary article. However, it would be great to receive a status update on the progress of these promised features. Transparency is crucial in maintaining a strong and supportive community.

I also encourage everyone to share their ideas and suggestions on how we can improve LFS further. Let's collaborate and support the developers in any way we can. If any members of our community possess skills or knowledge that could benefit the development process, don't hesitate to step forward and offer your assistance.

Let's keep this discussion positive and constructive, as I believe that together, we can help shape the future of LFS. Thank you all for being part of this fantastic community.

Best regards,
