@Scawen - after installing W54 something weird started to happen with shaders - LFS looks for Car3 and World2 shaders, instead of Car2 and World so that the game is unplayable. Do you have any ideas?
Hmmmm, this sounds like it makes me want to pull steering wheel out of the closet...
By the way, does this graphical update refer only to tracks environment and shading, or the vehicle models too? Honestly I'm quite not up to date with latest updates info so apologies if this was said before.
The only thing i miss is BL1 (the config) and sc1' chicane. All the servers now use this noobish BL2 with one sector-one corner thing and where races look more like drag competition...
The engine sound is like some kind of a screaming of weird animal
Isn't it that with current tyre physics the car has too much grip during tyre slide (or rather during transition between grip and slide) and there's no good feeling of when the tyre starts sliding? I think with new physics it will be even more noticeable.
Maybe there's something changed already to prepare is for the new physics blast
All I can notice with new patch is that for some reason I take corners faster on BL2 than on BL1... It's strange
When it comes to modding VOBs, LOD2 is responsible for collision model. Only if you make changes to LOD2 model it will affect car's collision. Any change of shape of main model (LOD0) won't do any change in terms of collisions.
At least that's how unofficial and illegal modding tools work.
Texturable windows need change in VOB to make new mesh for this texture - original windows use simple transparent texture that's stretched to all windows.
Nacim, is it possible to make brightness/contrast editable in some... bigger aspects? I think the S-curve really does the job when it comes to immersion and everything but I feel that the darkest and brightest parts of image are jsut too flat and there is no way of changing it without having some serious artifacts I tried freaking lots of combinations but it all ended up badly.
Is there anyway to make it something like a tiny add of contrast to original LFS colors? (Or to imagine it better to make tyres have shades again and bring clouds "depth" back as they are just white spots on the sky).
Thanks for any help!
Made it looking like this but it's still not satisfying me:
Yea they consider it's better to donate them every month to keep cracked servers running for a month instead of making a once-paid donation to the developers to keep official servers running forever.
I don't know what others would say about that, but I think that the grass next to curbs at last corner's exit should be made a bit uhmm... shabby/battered as it get's mowed by spinning wheels very often At least from my point of view as what I can see when driving with others. Most of racers get behind these curbs there.
Scawen, the Q13 patch made me wanna drive on curbs again! It feels just great. And doesn't kill my wheel anymore All bumps are perfectly projected by FFB, still feel bumpy but don't make that harsh, clunky effects in addition to "blow my car away" attempts
One thing more from me about new curbs (not even sausages) - With current tyre physics (at least I think so) they can spin the car out even when driving straight... Or is it only something wrong with me?
Scroll the replay to 5:15 - first corner in sc3 and see what happens on turn's exit.
It looks kinda funny that everyone complains when Scawen's not writing anything about development (game is dead, they don't care about us anymore, blah blah blah), and then complains that he's writing something about development (we're working on new content etc etc)
Test patches are the proof that it's still alive and well.
Keep it up Scavier, I still have hopes that one day I'll drive Bathurst, Nordschleife and Laguna Seca (and so on!) in this outstanding simulator
Uhmmm... MicroSpecV, what's the tyre tread textures you are using?
By the way - Even though I'm liced I actually spend most of the time on one demo server - as johneysvk said, racing there is pretty decent, there are many good players and we can make some reeeealy tight races there!
