Yeah that looks better to me, but hey, the devs might just take that first scribble of yours.

Quote from PMD9409 :Nice 2 minute scribble in Paint. Plus I want more rallycross.

Woah, that's interesting, maybe a bit too much for me, but i'm sure others will like it. Nice flow to it I guess. That rallycross extension is pretty good too.

Quote from Ball Bearing Turbo :Just thought I'd say, I tried to imagine what that would be like to drive and I think you would have a winner there. The flow would feel very nice IMO. Would love to try that someday - maybe someone could mod it into RF2 (hint hint)

Thanks man, I kinda got inspiration for it from watching the GT1 world championship and some of the circuits they race on.

^ Yeah I was thinking of something Around the back straight as well.

Quote from stan.distortion :Alternative blackwood layouts would be very nice, would like alternative westhill layouts more but blackwood would be better for new players.

Yeah Westhill does need something new, maybe not with the layout itself but things like the environment. Adding a bigger grandstand on the main straight and few smaller ones around the back would be good too.

But as I said, the thought crossed my mind and yeah, quickly whipped something up. I think just adding these extensions and other small things would improve LFS better than having these massive packages. The last one was great (0.6B), don't get me wrong, but I think it's time now were we want to see more smaller patches coming out.

Thanks for the feedback as well guys, much appreciated.
Possible Extension for Blackwood

Hey everyone,

I'm not sure if it's been discussed before but i'm sure it has. Could Blackwood possibly receive an extension? I was driving the FZR recently at about 1:12:5 each lap roughly, and a thought crossed into my mind when I was approaching the hairpin at turn 1. Maybe there's potential for an extension here.

I just whipped up a quick design on paint. Basically, it continues past the hairpin for a good 200 -300m and then a sort of double apex right hander. Then as you exit there's and immediate tight left hander slightly going down hill into another right hand corner, as you hit the apex here there's a slight incline out of it and then a wide left hand sweep back to the chicane.

This new extension also keeps the original GP layout. Tell me what you think of it. I'm not pushing for it to be developed just wanted to see what you guys thought.

Thanks Guys

Another thing too is (it may have been mentioned in previous posts, I only quickly scanned them), when i'm racing with just the FXR against other FXR's, is that they all change gear at the exact same time, try it.

Just make it an AI only race, and just off the start you can tell that they are all changing from 1st to 2nd at the exact same time. This doesn't happen in real life surely. But this could also be an AI issue as well.

Oh yeah, +1 too.

Carrera Cup Car Skin

Hey Guys,

There's a Carrera Cup Car that I would like someone to create for me with the FZR. I haven't got any good software for skinning (only paint) and I was wondering if someone could create it for me.

Thanks Guys.

Yeah, that's fair enough.

sinanju,

could the Blackwood car park be a better option for the layout?

It just seems like that section of the autocross area makes it pretty small. It may not be to scale, but the layout on the car park might be bigger perhaps.

it looks like a good layout, i might give it a go for you

Quote from [Audi TT] :No it does not, because. FZR specially set H-pattern gerabox for balancing forces in GTR class.

OK, thanks for that man, hadn't seen that before. That sort of makes it reasonable.

Quote from TypeRacing :Ofcourse new cars in LFS would be accepted by any racer. But I don't think devs should waste time on them. Either Scirocco. Tire physics is probably biggest step to realististic racing simulator. If LFS manages to reach that title somehow, then people would buy it. Not becose it has shitload of fictional cars and stuff.

If talking about FZR, then drivers most of the time flatshifts it, which is really unrealistic. At the moment LFS can simulate only transmission with syncronisators, which is known and used on most of street cars. LFS would be perfect, if it could simulate transmission which has dogbox(unsyncronised gearshifts) which is more realistic for racing cars.

The Tyre physics isn't the best and I think that's what lets the sim down.

With a new car without a hbox, they're wont be any flatshifting, even then, they could change the FZR to a Sequential gearbox

Quote from TypeRacing :ALL of the serious racing cars has sequential gearbox. UFR and FZR are very silly cars, especially FZR for having that H-shifer in GT car.

But all of this discussion is pointless if we still have this agricultural tire physics...

I'm guessing by your user name you compete in a lot of leagues and stuff, so adding another car might make the big racing leagues more exciting.

The FZR isn't really a good car with that Hbox. And I don't know what it is with the tyre physics, but everytime I exit corner with the FZR, when I gently put the power down, the rear end steps out. Surely, it's not like that in the real world?

Quote from TehPaws3D :Whats the point of having a amazingly powerful V8 engine if you limit it to sequential? Takes all the fun out of the car. We need more non sequential box GTR cars. The only cars that aren't sequential are UFR and the FZR. (XFR/FXR/XRR) are sequential, If anything, We need more hbox cars. (since running FZR with the games sequential is good enough, I like the fact that it's H-pattern/gatedshifter.

If you have it, Drive the FZ50 with the G27's shifter, then drive it with the paddles, You may be faster with paddles, But shifting is so much more fun.

Most modern GT cars these days have sequential gearboxes. I don't find anything wrong with the hbox, it's just that nearly very GT has a sequential gearbox.

What Airio's GT2 and GT3 cars??

I agree with everything you said. The new car once a year seems like s a good suggestion for the devs. And the RB4 GTR car that was linked before could be another great addition to the field, and the RAC GT car would be cool as well.

What I'm mainly trying to say is we need another GT car to spice up the field.

Yeah, I was reading that not so long ago. That's kind of what I'm saying. Make another GT car that has no turbo and a sequential gearbox. I like his idea and I hope the devs see it.

Quote from rageshgr : Also we don't have a mid engined car in GTR class, so an RAC GTR will be unique. I would really love to have something that resembles a 430 Scuderia

Yeah, this is what I'm talking about. Just adding another generic GT car to the class. Most major championships around the world have more than three types of car, so it would be nice to add a fourth.

Yeah true, I understand a new physics system would be needed for a new car, but i'm talking about just making another generic car for the class, that way, they wont need licences, it will only be taking ideas from cars in the real world and compiling them together, as I said in my first post.

I'm not worried about the handling of the cars, I think there needs to be something new, something that has a V8 engine, RWD, sequential gearbox and no turbo, just as an idea.

One or two more cars to fill each category would be nice, and a LMP car would be great as well.

New GT Class Cars

The FXR, XRR and the FZR are nice GT style cars and I can see what they are meant to resemble in the real world. This is how I think of them:

FXR: Audi R8 LMS / Honda NSX (Super GT) / Ford or Holden V8 Supercar
XRR: Corvette Z06/ZR1 GT1 / Dodge Viper GTS-R
FZR: Porsche Carrera Cup/ Nissan GT-R (Super GT) / Aston Martin DB9RS

There probably more cars with the same looks and performance around the world so why doesn't LFS have more of these cars. As I said, the FXR. XRR and FZR are still good cars to drive, but eventually after a while, they get a bit boring. So, can the devs make more GT class cars??

Even if its just 1 car, it's still better than nothing.
