This is shocking and sad.
In the first few days of racing online with LFS (2003), Fordman took me 'under his wing' and gave me tuition to improve. At that point I was a stranger to him, but he did this to others as well. Ended up being in a few teams with him and he was always the ideas man, pushing the boundries.
Met up a few times for very enjoyable events. Pity that real life has meant we have drifted apart in the last decade.
Rest in peace.

The Top Gear track was in Gran Turismo 5 on the Playstation 3.

I heard that Pirelli had no information to go on for the track surface, so assumed similar to Austin. They then got caught out by it being smoother/less wear

Exhaust Gas Recirculation
Takes a little from the exhaust and puts it through the engine intake again. A second chance to burn particulates/gases and improve emissions.
Lots of diesels have them, and lots of owners take them off when they regularly get sooted up.

For a time I set up a recorder using my mobile phone, following the wife's battle with a 'story changer'
I used the free version of DailyRoads Voyager on Android, used to fit the phone to the passenger headrest so it wasn't obvious and had a decent field of view. It records your speed as well.
Can't use the phone's sat-nav or music streaming when strapped to the headrest though.

I've only just got a PS3 and GT5 in November (waited for GT6 for Xmas )
The physics are not great compared to PC sims, but that is not the reason for me. For petrol heads who like cars, it's great to look through all the available exotica (or cars you've owned) and plan your next purchase.
And it looks great! The progression through the levels is enjoyable enough, I haven't played online yet.
I got my PS3 second hand from CEX (in UK), it's kept me entertained while we wait for the next LFS update.
Just don't expect to be blown away by the physics

One of my earliest memories in LFS (prob 2003) was racing regularly on a server where there was one racer mostly winning all the time. Then one day after they left, someone said their username was Russian for Little Girl! She showed me up, can't remember the name though
