Studies for the only sports that are positively effected by alcohol (Not in mass quantities mind you) that the few sports such as hunting (which I find odd and dangerous) and golf. There was one other, but I forgot. Basically my logic tells me the alcohol relaxes the body which is important for these so called sports. Race car driving you need fast reflexes and they have to be precise.
In other words, don't drink for fast times, cause every little bit depresses your system that much more!

Don't hurt your brain mate. The UFR is based off the UF1000, the XRR is based off the XRT, FZR based off the FZ50... seriously though, they are what they are. Made up cars, I don't pretend what they are or what wonder what they are based off of. There isn't much you can do with the knowledge of knowing what they are based off of unless you want to do a skin of a real car.

Sounds like German technology at its finest clashing with England's finest programming
But seriously, probably should post up his specs and a picture or video of what he is experiencing.
Maybe he just needs to a reinstall of LFS?

I want smoke like this : A REAL CAR

Smoke like this in game would require probably the top end machines tho and that is not LFS motto at all.

Or just trek across the Australian outback from somewhere like Brisbane to Perth
No need to worry about terrorist there, but the most abundant poisonous reptiles are found there. Although, even last time I was there, the Muslim population had increased through the roof in Sydney.

After reading this pointless back and forth argument... Why is it to me, that JeffR appears to have something viciously jammed up his rump? Yes, you maker valid points, but why? You aren't getting anything done, and not convincing anyone. Finally you got my attention to speak, but I think whatever the Scavier team decides is best I go with it. It's good how it is, I don't look at :lfs: and compare it to real life when I'm racing, or to Rfactor! Yes, I believe it is a simulator. It is very convincing to me that the cars act pretty close to what they would or should in real life. Granted, I'll probably never drive a BMW F1 car, or a Caterham, but I'm convinced thats how it would be, so I'm happy. Why can't people be happy around here for what we got? That's the issue, parts of the community are tight asses, when really they just need to get out there and provide good clean racing and stop complaining about how it should or could be!

Yea I agree, I never have problems and when I spin I automatically clutch in. I've never spun a car and tried to feather a clutch while in 4th or so gear in real life so I couldn't tell you how close to real it is.

I think it is safe to say that for now it is a deterrent for those who shift improperly. Until the devs model tranny and driveshaft damage the clutch is the easiest to punish bad driving. The only time I've ever driven a car with a slipping bad clutch was a early 90's corrola and the clutch was the original and I was driving it pretty hard. Granted, I've smelt burning clutch when learning long ago, but it didn't effect anything but my passenger's noses.

I mainly only race the XRR when I'm in a GTR class mood. I noticed that it seems turbo lag actually effects my driving! If I come out of a turn slow and my gear set up isn't right and I'm slightly bogged, man is it hard to get that turbo spooled. I am learning to get on the gas wee bit earlier now to spool the turbo up, maybe blip the clutch. I like it, so much more to racing, it's addicting to master such a steep learning curve. Stamp of Approval

I need to add my 2 cents as well. I was surprised to see all the disappointment throughout the community! I downloaded the first test patch and I thought, why hell, why wasn't this implemented ages ago? I drive the same way I did in the last patch in clutch terms. I always drove the XRR, so lifting and blipping was a must for the endurance circuits. Only time I've overheated the clutch was messing around, when I spin I have my instincts from Richard Burns Rally to mash the clutch in so I don't stall. I'm absolutely satisfied with the new patch and I'm bouncing off the walls waiting for more updates! GTR interiors anyone?

Personally, I like the new Chicane coarse and that's all that Red Line is running so yea, I've been able to touch 1:06 but there are people in the 1:05 and maybe faster. Tough car to drive fast.

I nominate Lucas.
He seems to be a good candidate that would be helpful to the community and it gets him one step closer to S2. I think S1 is a great gift to anyone, it doesn't fully spoil them. They will see S1 and want S2 which in turn motivates them the partial upgrade fee for S2.

Plus he is an Aussie and I just plain love their rally stages and the country in general (half the fam is from there)

Well depending on gearing, the UF probably doesn't even hit top speed on the drag strip. Would be nice to have a mock salt flats, but then again, I'd much rather have Spa or some uphill stage...

Try using an awd car first. You can make perfect circles in awd. Then move up to rwd, and also a set would probably help to. Default won't get ya anywhere.

I was interested in the boosted cars. Is it true to real life that turbo cars get better gas mileage? I would of figured they would guzzle gas because of the higher air ratios. I have done intake to my car and fuel millage has increased. Is it because it can breath more? Is a turbo more like this? Just some food for thought.

I competed the vote ban . The racing passed me, so then I spectated. Saw the accident, had my lil laugh. Then seriously, couple minutes later, y'all were still bitch'n and whining about it. I was tired of the arguing and progression. Why care so much anyhow ? This video won't make you famous, and there was more fun to be had on the other servers IMO.

Just Saturday, my buddy who owns a hayabusa, slightly modded. Stretched and lowered, unsure of the other things besides exhaust, asked me if I wanted to go for a ride. I trusted him quite a bit considering he does a lot of racing so I hopped on back. On a empty part of the freeway we got up to 160mph in a very, very short distance. He said he was only in 3rd gear, we were still accelerating hard, but his good judgment, he decided to slow it back down. Best fun I've had in a while.
Here's the bike:

At Least I have proof =

While I was in Germany my host took his Dad's brand new bmw up to 260kmph on the autobahn (video). Yes I know the music is not the most hardcore, but I needed to be calmed down in a situation with a nooby at the wheel. He was 18, but there he just got his license, I'm 18 and I've been driving 3 years back in the states... quite odd. In an 07' g35x with me driving I took it up to 125mph with it still accelerating hard, but I was way to scared to continue on. Too illegal here to do that
