I was a bit intimidated by the workings of insim before, dealing with packets etc. - but this has been a great tool to work from to understand how things work.
Try useing a key binder (dont think that is their name but i dont know it)
They allow you to bind a key to another key on your keyboard, so when you press your numpad key then it is actually pressing your F-key
My sietek wheel program allows me to bind any keyboard key to my wheel button :\
Nah, i dont think this would be good as then you couldnt have races longer than 30 mins max in the FOX and besides it is a made up car kinda, is there a car called a "FOX" in real life? it may look like another car but nothing says it is...
I HAVE THaT WHEEL!!!!! MENTAL
ANyway you configuire it as a "2 axis 4 button joystick" then when you go to settings calibrate it by full throttel and turning it right and then let go of that and press brake full and turn it left so i goes round in circles do that about 5 times, then the rest of the instalation is pretty straight forward!
Good luck
