Quote from wE1l :Majority? Do u even know how many LFSers are there?

I believe around 25,000 licensed players?
I don't know what track is the closest to the North Circuit in terms of narrowness and difficulty? But there you can see track usage.
http://www.lfsworld.net/?win=s ... s&whichTab=trackusage

This will give an idea what majority prefers.

Quote from Vain :You're completely illepall .

Vain

The track may be good for hotlapping or just driving. LFS is mainly online sim. It is too difficult and narrow for online racing in LFS. The track could possibly be popular among the most serious lfs racers and long endurance races. Something not for majority of LFS-ers. It would also be expensive to license and model. Well, I'm not against if those of you who really want it come up with a little fund-rase and fund it yourself

Hmm, am I really completely, you mean totally illepall ?

We've been over all this in the other threads many times. Nordschleife is not such a great race track, it is narrow and very long. I would rather like Nürburgring or Imola or something.

Edit:
By Nürburgring I meant nowaday's F1 configuration.

Quote from NotAnIllusion :I didn't quite understand from the site.. What exactly is the Intel Racing Tour?

It doesn't tell. It says drive F1 BMW on a virtual course. Not much info other than that, and it will start on 22th.

Quote from sinbad :Running the existing demo cars in a free contest is a whole lot different to running the "best" car in the game for free. How are the LFS devs going to pursuade more of the perpetual demo-drivers to buy a license if they give them the Formula One car for free?

Maybe it won't be available for download, maybe they will send few copies to intel for their intel racing tour.

Quote from dreamcastninja :I am debating on purchasing live for speed tonight at midnight when I get paid. Please give me several reasons why I should purchase.

The flag tells me you are from US. Also the mention about getting paid says you can afford LFS. Now, it costs about 43 bucks. Think of what you usually get for 43 bucks. Now think of many hunders hours you most likely will spend with LFS.

The sim has great price/quality ratio, and it is very very rare someone with S2 license regrets the purchase.

Quote from Hyperactive :Having a deal with the BMW F1 team (if they do) is different thing than having a deal with BMW directly.

Yes, I just want some real production cars (not single seaters), I don't like very fast cars in LFS (more crashes, less close races), but F1 car is a very good addition to the game indeed.

Now, as it looks like LFS has a deal with BMW, wouldn't it be nice to have M3 or M5 in LFS some day?

Quote from Christian Seidel :Are you OK with that? At least I am...

Sure , I don't believe the devs deliberately postpone the release of finished and tested patch just to tease us, their customers, for more than a week

Quote from Christian Seidel :Sorry, but there is not a single proof - only assumptions.

What? One is taken from liveforspeed.net itself (While we finish the patch), and the other told by a beta-tester? Or maybe you mean the devs are not telling the truth (which is actually lying) ?

While we finish the patch, we will post some info and a picture or two about a new feature or update, each day.

Quote from Huru-aito :What comes to my thoughts about patch completion and release, I'll say there's no point holding a finished patch and not releasing it. And like we can see, the patch isn't out yet. My racername could give you a hint for why I might know things.

Nice, the claims about the patch being finished before releasing updates have been proved wrong.

Human's mind is an interesting thing, most you have waited since last summer for a physics update without going crazy, and now when it is certain the patch will come within two weeks, now some start to go crazy? Take it easy people

And you can only be 100% sure about that if the patch is already finished and tested.

Just my 2 cents...

No, did you read Scawen's post on 5th of april? So you claim that they finished the patch and also tested it in just few days? Personally I believe the patch is tested at this moment, and the release date will depend on the results of testing.

Quote from ajp71 :The patch will have been finished and tested before any of the updates even began the devs are just trying to create intrest in the patch,

will have been finished? Do you mean that patch was finished and tested before before 11th of april, which is the day of the first update?

Scawen:
Eric and I are working full time on the patch and we're still not finished.

The date is 5th of april.

although I think they've got to release it today or they'll start loosing intrest.

No, even if some feel bored and/or start to lose interest, they will be back the moment they know the patch is out.

Quote from ajp71 :TBH this is not the same, BMW Sauber will have given the devs very little data about their 2006 F1 car. It will just be a 2.5 litre single seater revving to 20000 rpm and won't have every last subtletey about it like the nK data allows. Anyway who really cares when you've got a F1 car?

Quote from ATC Quicksilver :say the devs make 2p per message, 6000 registered users give or take...each send 1 message and thats enough to cover the cost easily, then say on average each person sends 8 a day....then you have yourself a new porsche in a matter of months

I just hope they use the money to get in more people to work on the game, so they can get it out of Alpha stage and into a final release.

On the other hand its great that they are fixing the grip levels and aerodynamics

Few wrong facts, and many wrong assumptions.

I would love to see a more "primitive" track, for ex. a autocross (tarmac only) type of
