I'm running...

two 9800gt's in sli
Phenom x4 at 2.3ghz
Asrock 780sliX3 mobo
4gb ram
1.5tb HDD
750w psu.
22" monitor at 1650x1080 (I'm going to be running two pretty soon)

And windows xp 32bit.

I'm running full on graphics on LFS with 8x AA and 16x AF E: I guess I should also mention I'm running patch Z Have not upgraded to Z9 yet.

I just ran a full AI GTR race about 7 of each car. I have about 15fps when the light turns green. and it averages out to about 20 hitting highs of 60 and lows of 8 at a few spots during the lap.

It just seems a bit low to me. It might not be but since this is my first decent computer build I'm not sure what I should expect.

While playing online I get anywhere from 60-170 fps depending on the amount of connections.

I think it's the default helmet skin. I'm using it and I didnt even notice until today

What?! That is a horrible comparison.

You can't compare a full throttle pass down a drag strip in a 6000hp car and someone driving an F1 car around a track at a slow to moderate pace at best...

For some reason I seem to ski better when using the helmet cam.

You can play qualify against other people's ghosts, maybe that helps to see where the speed comes from.

My settings are 34 19 47 or similar to that. And +1 to the helmet cam It helps for me

I think I might just buy those pedals and keep my dfp wheel. I dont think the fanatec wheel has enough buttons :P my dfp doesnt even have enough unfortunately

Yea I know the monitors are soaking up a lot of the funds but well :P

Thanks Wraak, everything in your build looks great for what I'm looking for Building a PC is no problem I've just been out of the loop for a bit before LFS that last time I was semi serious into computers it was 2002 and that barebones kit looked decent for the price.

I think I'm going to hold off placing the order for a week or so and see If I can find some better deals or save up a bit more to spend on some better components.

Hey all, I'm looking to build a semi cheap AMD based gaming computer that can run dual monitors and will be fairly easy to upgrade. I'm not looking for a top of the line machine right now just something that will run better than my laptop and will hold me over untill I have some extra cash to throw into a computer.

Which has two DVI out's on seperate cards. I would assume I could use each for one Monitor with no Ill effects?

I'm going to be using two Acer 22" monitors for now.


That's the total cost before ~$50 in rebates.

Opinions? I'll only be using it for gaming Most graphics intense game I would be playing is Cod4 or GTR-2

I started making one I just took a couple of the things he does and put them in random places so far it looks pretty good despite my very bad layout skills :S

One bad part is that at least one tire is popped by the time you cross the finish line

Other than reinstalling it no but it has never worked on my computer but it should perfectly fine.

I don't see any scratchs on it cause it works on my dads computer but i don't want to use my dads comp for certain reasons.

Are you running vista? I also noticed people had problems running it with X64 I'm not sure though what the fix is for that.
