To me, i agree with what you say just then about karting, but i rate alot more forms more than karting. ive sat in nearly any form except f1 and cars that havent been in australia and been taken for a drive in certain sedan cars. A v8 supercar is unbelievable for example. Edit i thought id add.. when A1gp first came to aussie, i walked around the pits and got the chance to sit in an a1gp car, not a copy or nothing, fully finished a1gp car, and when i sat in there i thought i was sitting on a kings chair in a castle . I sit in a go kart, i dont feel that!

Just being seated behind the wheel of a race car and knowing that you can control such madness, built so precise and taking a race car to the limit with 20 guys behind you, thats abit more special. Id choose TC's ride over karting any day! I dont care about physical demand, or the roughest competition out (as you do find in karting), or names or international bla bla.. just being in control of a race car is more special than anything.. Ill envy TC's carrer than any world champion karter anyday, and thats comming from a serious karter who wants nothing but kart championships in this current moment.

I love karting and close to everything about it. I dont care about apaearence or how things may sound not 1% but at the same time, and while thats on topic, id rather say to someone i race cars than go karts.. i have to explain for 20 mins to people what karting is like because when they say what sport to you play, i will say "i race karts".. (mind you, without a care in the world, dont get me wrong).. and their reply.. "is that even a sport with karts..?"

or sometimes ill say "i do motor racing".. and their reply is.. "oh wow thats awesome, what CAR do you race?"
me- "no i race karts"
them -"go karts? ......ohh ok........... ............... ................................ ......................... ........................... i best be off now, bye "

Not saying i care, or that it bugs me or anything. Hell, i just came off the track today got in just under 200 laps and the only reason why i left tonight is because i was the last and only one out on the track and they had to close...

Couldnt help but butt in guys.. i check the forums here and there and any racing topic i see TC talking bout how karting isnt the only form of motor racing and how you put karting up on the pedistool!

Karting is intense, VERY hard and absolutely on the edge. I love it and im addicted more now that i got my new CRG. Theres 1000 things i could pro on racing. But karting is nothing compared to whats out there.. Ill back you up to whoever thinks karting is bullshit or easy or not as hard than cars. IMO, karting is alot more demanding then alot of levels... but karting isnt the only form, and theres some that are on the same level, if not, even better!

why be sadly alone? This year was my first year single after 4 years on valentines and i loved it. i spent the day with 2 mates and had a good time..

last year dont get me wrong was good with the mrs at the time, but i over did it and spent well over $1000aud.. sure she loved it, sure it was a great time, but f*ck a waste of money...

Mate, if i was 14 i would be cheering.

Ive been driving all sorts of karts and cars for years now, but only until now, and infact, just yesterday i bought my kart to race competition. Im 19, and yes certian levels are out of the question, its not too late for a 19 year old to get atleast somewhere.

Theres always a way around everything!

For a beginner or starter to karting where you have perhaps never been in a proper non hire kart, maybe budget is the best way to go. I went for a little more money and got the CRG Dark Knight just yesterday. Ill be running it in tomorrow so i still cant give you any feedback on the kart. The CRG KT1 is a very good kart and ive driven the Italkarts before too, and i liked them. Once again, they are all no cheaper than $8,000 AUD (chassis and rotax engine).

My opinion, and if you have the money to do so, dont go over $6,000, but at the same time, dont do whatever to cut costs. As a starter, you can though because you need to get experience etc, but at the same time, if you want to win, you have to throw money into a black hole .

My suit costed me $600AUD but my previous basic suit was about $250AUD. My helmet costed me $850AUD where my previous was about $300AUD.

Your going to need (from the top of my head)..

-Suit/gloves/helmet/shoes
-tools
-kart trolley
-kart
-engine
-licence
-fuel
-tyres
-spare parts
-tacho

Anything else you need to know, as im a starter too with the experience of being around the karting world since i was a kid, just ask . Im sure there are many other karters that are on these forums too.

PS: you need to think about what engine you want to race. Theres a range of them to race.

About 2 years ago i started racing a "J" 100cc engine. They are push start and in Aus (im not sure what its like overseas) your put into "national" class. I stopped that very quickly because it was not fast enough for my likings. It may be good for you because it really teaches you how to drive smooth. Im now running a rotax max engine. They are great fun and really fast as well as demanding too physically IMO. You need to be smooth aswell with the throttle and brakes and that also teaches you alot.

I got him the licence and yes I was delayed. I hope he is enjoying lfs as it was well deserved for him. Would like to appoligize to him for the delay. Having a real hard time with personal matters at the moment in my life and I had no time to send it over. And to be honest, not sure if I have the time to build the cockpit, let alone play sims for a very long time.. I got a wheel comming in soon that I am waiting to get the invoice and I still won't be able to use it much..

When its in my hands ill make a review .

I understand what people are saying where tonix's desingn was just a copy etc but afew things I can point out.

One, I stated that the hyper was exactly what I wanted but they closed down. Plus they couldn't fit a shifter so it was useless for me.

You all need to understand that it wasn't just copy and paste. Yes his design is based on thr hyper, but so is B's. Me and tonic spoke here and there and he went through the design from start to finish. It's completely re worked and made from scratch. I can explain this soon when I'm at home but tonix's design is almost completely different, but from a preview, it looks the same.

Also at the end of the day it's what I was after. Was hard to choose still.

I hope people understand that it wasn't just copy and paste. The inside has been completely changed. I've used a hyper before and seen it in detail, I can tell you, it's not identical.
