Quote from OmniMoAK :Oh, I have read those suggestions on to make it better, but I am proposing what I think is a quick fix.
Most damage improvements suggestion are "just make it better"

I am saying:
XRT no damage model = current wing setting
XRT body deformation model 1 = +2 degrees of wing angle.

Problem is, there are no predefined crash models of the car. All crashs are calculated.

Quote from pacesetter :+1, like an M3 for instance.. (not flawed)

That's what I was thinking about

THIS would be a double soft-spot. Doesn't look, doesn't perform. But some just like them for other reasons. A Trabant

I guess some of you don't really understand the thread. It's meant to show what are your soft spots car-wise. So that means cars that are flawed by looks or by performance. At least that's how I understand it.

There is nothing wrong with some of the cars posted here.

Richard Burns Rally is the best Rally game physics wise as far as I know, so there isn't really any other game you could try.

Quote from Dac :The FBM is real

I honestly think once we have some real tracks there'l be a lot more people join just to race on it, and *hopefully* it will encourage the development team to go for more real tracks

+BF1
+MRT
+RAC

They are also real cars

Put in some extra ballast. Other than that, you could do nothing about LFS limits of intake restriction.

Last time I was racing online, I had some of the most fun on XF-GTi Demo servers on Blackwood

Demo racing isn't as bad as it used to be. As long as you prepare yourself to be crashed without your fault every 3 or 4 races. But I don't really mind that As long as I'm in a grid where I can keep up with the mid pack.

Quote from Bandit77 :"When to shift" is a topic where the majority has an opinion that's a mix of factoids - "you can shift by ear" being one of them.

The way the LFS shiftlight worked and interacted with the gear-ratios illustrated nicely which factors determine the ideal shiftpoint.

The truth is what does not contradict facts that are acknowledged as true.

The factoid of finding the ideal shiftpoint by ear can be disproved with one simple example - provided the audience understands the logic behind it (or simple logic at all) and knows a bit about powercurves and stuff.

... which is not the case. I may sound like an arrogant prick (which doesn't bother me at the end of the day), but there really is no point in explaining things to people who don't even read the posts.

Why not just explain it?

Maybe those who don't understand your posts will understand them afterwards.

Sorry to brust your bubble, but in most of the newer PC games, the CPU makes little to no difference. And I'll doubt you will get an performance boost worth the money.

Overclocking my Core2 Duo from 2,33 to 3,33 Ghz gave me an astonishing boost of 5 fps in Borderlands. Woooooooow.

Quote from lizardfolk :I only see a reason to remove it if we get stock cars

The faster class bypassing the chicane while slower class using chicane racing at the same time is an interesting idea...has this been done before in real life?

No, and with a good reason.

If the faster class wouldn't need to take the chicane, they would me much faster than the slower cars coming out of the chicane.

It would not be the matter if, but when an accident will happen.

LFS still does. So now please stop your pointless trolling.

And, like Scawen or Victor once said, you could still unzip the installer with 7zip.

Quote from DevilDare :Just to add to the whole "1.3l engine" thing.

Mazda RX8 has a 1.3l engine and is pulling out 228bhp.

Fail!

The RX8 is a Wankel engine. It doesn't have any pistons at all.

Edit: Woops, didn't see page 2

Quote from anttt69 :ive just noticed something about the LX4 engine specs.

Engine:
1.3 litre inline 4
Power:
105 kW (140bhp) @ 8212 rpm
Torque:
131 Nm (97 lbft) @ 6917 rpm

A 1.3 car engine with 140bhp?? Even a well tuned Suzuki swift engine would struggle to achieve 140bhp.

In the german hillclimb championship a 1.3 litre 16v inline 4 with less than 140 hp is regarded as underpowered.

They achieve up to 200 hp from an 1.3 carburetor engine.
