The guys from AC have been posting pics of tracks and cars on facebook before every patch and as far as I know, all of them made their way into the next patch.
What I don't like about the AI is the feeling they're not on the same physics engine like you.
They only need to tap you the slightest at your rear quarter panel and you lose it.
If you on the other hand tap them on the rear quarter panel nothing happens, it's more likely that you end up spinning. Even if you dive bomb them on their rear end they correct it like it's just a little bump. You end up nowhere in the middle of the gravel.
Gives me that kind of train like "the AI is driving on rails"-feeling you know from games like the Gran Turismo series.
As the Ferrari isn't suited for that track due to the limited ride height, I'm not suprised by that. It just bounces around the track like a lowrider. Great fun never the less.
Did a clean 6:19 on my 6th try. I guess a good driver will find another 20 seconds on that track.
Well, guess what: 99% availability would be an improvement for steam. And we're talking about millions of dollars. For a company which profit relies on the the availability of their services, it should be money well spent.
It's ridiculous that a company which is estimated to have more than a billion dollars on their side can't afford a server architecture which will not break down, just because there is an free game.
It's basically what sinbad said. Even though I limit my frames to 57, as 60 creates much more tearing. But I'll try 91 fps and see if it makes any difference.
I'll try forced V-Sync in the drivers later on, to see if that creates a similar lag to the V-Sync in game. I guess it will, but it's worth a shot anyway.
On the other side, does anyone here want my BMW E30 M3 Gr.A. Jägermeister Skin, which is (more or less) a replica of Armin Hahnes ca from 1992?
I'm down to 2:03ish times in Imola with the 90s Road tires.
But I guess that could be improved by another second.
I'll do some more tests tomorrow, because I've tinkered a bit with .ini files and the graphic settings and now have the feeling I've got rid of a small steering lag, which I haven't really noticed until now.
Before that, countersteering small slides in the F40 had send me into the opposite direction and were more luck than skill to catch. Now I can even provoke the back end to step out and hold the slide like a charm. Gives you much more confidence into the car, so I guess it wasn't all placebo what I've changed.
If I have the same feeling tomorrow, I'll let you know what I've changed.
On my AMD 6850 it is an noticable drop in smoothness and frames. I could play it with HDR on, but it just feels smoother and nicer with HDR off. So I guess it depends on your hardware what kind of fps drop you'll notice.
It's a shame I'm missing quite a bit eye-candy with HDR off.
