Quote from jtr99 :Hmm. So is that why I can't seem to break 1:03 on AS club in the FOX? My nose is not pointing up in the air? (Of course, it may simply be that I am crap.)

I don't know much about the new tracks in S2, but I would imagine that on a "regular" track the aerodynamical benefit would be negated by the worse handling characteristics caused by the rised front end.

If you really want to know, download a fast replay and see if the front is jacked up.

Quote from Hyperactive :Yes the car is perfect but it gets very loose above 160kph. When the rear steps out even a bit it is question of pure luck to get it back

Driving it so that the rear doesn't step out is a question of pure skill though

Quote from tristancliffe :Yuo could argue that S2 is finished now

Actually, I do not think you could argue that an alpha version is the finished product.

I thought there would be more than 975 licensees in Finland, actually.

I stopped "selling" licenses a year go, and I got up to £1404, which makes 117 x £12, so probably around a hundred separate people considering there weren't that many S2 licensees back then.

So I'm sorry if there are too many finns, you can blame me for around 10% of them

Actually, there are subforums for renders and screenshots (of which the latter has a thread for edited pics).

No problem as long as you have separate LFS folders.

First thing that came to mind when I saw the topic:

"If I had a server, ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum"

I would appreciate it if you would take that back. I've played LFS for nearly three years, and for more than two years it was my most played PC game.

Quote from deggis :Why don't you play then?

At the moment there's nothing in LFS to keep me interested. Mostly I'm playing GTA:SA and NFS:MW now.

I would drive the LX cars, if I still played LFS

...on stuff that wouldn't really make a difference to you, that is.

I don't shift, I let LFS do it for me.

This would be somewhat complex and would add server load, but if the server "watermarked" one of the files in the ZIP to include information about who downloaded it, the devs could track down who originally downloaded the version that ended up in the P2P networks and suspend his/her account.

Quote from Goldfingiz :I read in a LFS FAQ about 2x textures but don't see the option anywhere in S2. I have all the settings at max with 6xAA and 16xAF but the game still doesn't look as good as it does in some screens I see. I'm using a X800 Pro which isn't too great anymore but I believe LFS should look as good as it does in the screens I see. Any ideas?

The 2X textures option has been removed from S2, apparently it's now always on. You'll need to show us a screenshot and tell us why exactly do you think it doesn't look as good as it should.

Quote from STROBE :I thought the "p" in the server description indicated that a pit-stop is compulsory.

I believe you're right - you can see whether the host is private or public elsewhere. And even then, "P" wouldn't make much sense, since it could mean either of those

Yay, I'm one of the oldies as well

I probably found out about LFS in December 2002, as I registered at RSC the day before christamas eve

If the day will come when CRC will be useful at all, I think it should be enough to get into CRC once. The basic principle didn't change with the "new" CRC and neither did the persons who were previously accepted.

You can check my profile if you want to know how old I am. I don't really understand the purpose of this thread anyway - a poll might make some sense.

And it still should be in the off topic forum...

Quote from Nick_ll :I was making reference to the front ride height bug.....

I believe the bug you're talking about has nothing to do with ground effect, which is NOT simulated in LFS.

In LFS, if the car is tilted backwards, downforce pushes the car slightly forwards instead of directly downwads like it should. At least that's the explanation I've heard on the forums.
