Track: Blackwood GP Clear Day
Date: Thursday 4th March
Time: 18:00 GMT
Format: 30 minutes qualifying followed by a 20 minute break and 2 hour race.
As with last year, we will not only be looking at your pace over the race distance but your commitment coming into the race and your ability to show that you can handle the car safely.
The rules will be the same as the current IGTC rules however i will be imposing a minimum of 2 driver changes and a minimum stint length of 25 minutes. If your team has 3 or more drivers i would like to see at least 3 on track. If your team consists of only 2 drivers you still have to make the 2 driver changes but obviously you will have to change back to the driver that started the race.
The teams that will have to participate in the test race will be announced after the application deadline. However if you have never participated in an IGTC, GTAL or MoE race you will most likely be asked to participate in the test race.
There are 4 spots up for grabs in the full IGTC season, however some teams may be added to the waiting list also.
Teams entered for the test race
You will find attached a copy of the rules. They are very much the same as last season however there are some key points that have been changed.
A 2.2: The break between qualifying and the race has been set to 20 minutes
B 1.2: The maximum a driver is allowed to drive is 70% of the race
G 3: C2 penalty can be applied for spinning a car under safety car conditions
H 8.1: Drivers must come to a gentle stop at the first corner of the track after the race has finished.
J 1: only 3 driver changes may be made in the 4 hour races, 6 changes are allowed in the 8 hour race.
G2:Changed so the green flag is used to show the SC is in pit lane and restarts are determined by the lead car. No overtaking before the start finish line which will be denoted by the green posts in the layout
Quite true but the flat surface on the top and sides goes against the thinking of basically the rest of the grid. Now i dunno about you but the guy in the corduroys doesn't usually get as many girls as the guy in the jeans
The test race will be on the saturday after deadline. I will try to choose as many teams as possible from the applications based on experience in IGTC and other leagues and then any remaining spots will go to whoever finishes the test race in the best position and/or shows me they have a suitable level of maturity for IGTC.
Updated the OP slightly. Expect the rules to come within the next week, I'm currently having PC problems so i can't edit them right now, same goes for the skin kit.
The International Grand Touring Championship is proud to announce the 2010 season schedule!
Due to streaming complications the events will not be run monthly but i have tried to get as even a spread as possible. All events will be four hours in length, except the final round, which will be double-length (at eight hours) and double-points.
All race weekends except the final round will begin with 30 minutes of "hardcore" qualifying at 18:00 UTC and have a 15 minute break from 18:30 to 18:45 UTC. Races will begin at 18:45 UTC. The final round will begin 4 hours earlier, at 14:00 UTC, and follow the same pattern.
IGTC 2010 Season Schedule:
6th March, Blackwood GP, Clear, No Wind
3rd April, Kyoto National, Cloudy, No Wind
15th May, Aston North, Clear, Low Wind

Okay, so a bit late for the Dubai and Daytona 24hr but who cares
The serious stuff is underway now. The Le Mans series entries have been confirmed. LMP1 is looking interesting with 2 audi's, but no factory Pugs and a lone Aston driven by two people i've enver heard of. LMP2 is LMP2 in LMS, nobody really stands out which can provide good racing. GT1... yeah... and GT2 looks really good, three entries from AF corse, including one with fishysmella, and some good drivers in the porches. Also theres the BMW with Jörg Müller and Dirk Werner.
Looks like it's gonna be fairly interesting in LMP1 and definatly interesting in GT2 with some really strong line ups. I look forward to seeing how AF Corse handle their 3 driver line ups, their all VERY strong.
At the end of the day it still takes a degree of understanding the racing line and how to go faster, also determination is one of the biggest things when it comes to being a racing driver.
@Tristan: Thats what i mean, the air will probably already have been angled on the underside of the car to blend with the air on the top. Aerodynamics isn't just limited to the outside of the car. The only problem would be dealing with convection.
