1. New tracks must be approved by a "track board"/lfs team
2. Make them downloadable through LFS so that the user always will have the latest version
The board will make sure that we only get quality tracks. They can/will also integrate them in LFS World. It take time to make quality tracks and approve them so there will not be pouring in tracks. My guess is that there will be a healthy growth of new tracks. I think this will be good for LFS!!
An Idea could be to have a Global Crash! If an server have a Global Crash for lets say 10 minutes then you can't race for 10 minutes no matter which server you race on. Both the option for Global Crash and the time it will take to repair the car should be configurable. If you have a so called Major amount of damage you will have to wait. Small amount of damage will be repaired between races.
It should also be possible for an admin to clear damage for a driver. This is important if you crash because of lag or some idiot taking people out on purpose. But the good thing is that the idiot probably want be able to race on any servers in the specified Global repair time.
When you join a server with Global repair time you will be warned of this. This will hopefully keep some of the idiots away from the server.
IRL you have mechanical failure and problems
btw, damage should be able to configure from the server, so that you can have leagues that run with full damage with no repair in pit and others that run with repair and maybe half damage.
I totally agree with you that the tracks in LFS are not boring, but other maybe think so ??. But I think that not having RL tracks keeps some people away from LFS. We all know that track modding is not coming anytime soon, but as long as its not possible to mod people will complain
That should be a good enough evidence that LFS need new content. And I think that the philosophy that no real tracks are needed is a problem for LFS in the long run! LFS will lose ground to rFactor, iRacing, etc... I know so many people that say they do not race LFS because the lack of real tracks I don't mind not racing real tracks but some people do
What is waste of time is everyone keeping threads alive pointing out that it is a waste of time not to search and saying it has been posted before(taking a breath). Some people do not live on these forums, they actually have houses
Well.. I have driven them in leagues...
If you make 1 long track you could probably have 2-5 small configurations. And the good part is that you can reuse what you have done on the long track. So it make sense to make 1 long track with configurations rather than making 2-5 small tracks where you have to graphically design everything for each track without reusing stuff...
I kind of agree, but a short track that is difficult is not a good pickup track. Most people (even fast drivers) make mistakes if its to difficult. So short easy (or even long) gives close races.
I hope they will make some new long tracks and provide them with short configurations. Then we get both short and long tracks. I guess that will also save development time.
But I still want to see more tracks before AI
btw, I don't want any AI at all.... but that is of curse my personal opinion... I will never use it anyways.... Online racing is what this sim is all about...
I have not tested replays, but its when I am racing or watching others. The mirrors in other cars even blink when I am sitting in my car. In short every mirror blink, not just in my car.
The blinking is blue and showing normal behavior. The mirrors are not all blue but a pattern.. blocks and thick lines... So I will always see some of the mirror but often blue blocks and thick horizontal lines.
Driving a car i netkar and lfs gives me the same feeling... rfactor is a different story... netKar is going to be a god racing sim!! The flatspot shaking is extremely breathtaking. btw its not there in v1.0.2 but will be back in v1.0.3 (due in September) Hope LFS will get flatspot FF...
I have been testing more...
I have no blinking mirrors in window mode. And if I am in full screen mode and press esc the blinking goes away. But I want to drive in full screen and with the menu off
Real, virtual and All has no effect on blinking ....
