The reason for my speculation is first hand experience. I am running lfsnorway.net and I asked the producer of the norwegian version of Top Gear if he would be interested in inviting Tommy Rustad (tester in the norwegian "Top Gear"/rally cross driver/STCC driver), but the answer was that if we could do the thing on Rudskogen (norwegian track) it would be interesting. The concept was to invite some talented Norwegian sim drivers and test them in LFS and in real life against Tommy Rustad. But I guess it's all about how you sell the thing... real life tracks and cars could be important if we are talking sponsorship??? But only time will tell...

It would be cool if you get a deal with a tv station I think its the future. In 10 years from now it will be fairly common (I hope).

Will the fact that LFS has no real tracks be a problem when trying to get STCC in live TV broadcasts?? My guess is that TV stations would like to see real tracks??? But of curse this is just pure speculations...

Seriously, I can only download 12gb's a month, I don't want it to waste away because everytime I join a server a new carset must be downloaded.

Do you think a group like that will certify 10 tracks pr month ? My guess is that we maybe will see 5 tracks pr month in the first few months... And of course just one version pr real track will exists.... not 2 or 3 Monacos... We are talking about just letting really good quality tracks pass certification...

That is why all mods must be certified by a small "mod-certification group". And all mods !must! be released as part of LFS, maybe downloadable from lfsworld or directly in the game. But as you say, for offline play people can run non certified mods..

I would like to see the ELO ranking system implemented. This could coexists with the license system you have today.
The ELO system is good because you lose or win points based how good the people you race against are. If you race bad you will lose points, and you will lose more if the players you race against have lower ranking than you.

Is it somehow unpopular to have a different opinion than the developers ?? Maybe if the developers had said that modding would be available after release of S2 it would not be so unpopular to say they are pro modding ??

I am all in for modding But...

There should be some sort of certification. You have to pass this certification to be allowed to mod. All new content should be tested and accepted by a small group before it was released for LFS. But if this is realistic before we have a final release of S2 (or S3) is a different story.

The competition LFS has from other sims today is tough but I believe it will be even more competition 1 or 2 years from now. Allowing modding will be important in the future. Even getting real tracks will be important in future.

I guess there are tons of people that are willing to work for free to make LFS even better... so why not let them do it ??

I just got kicked for not being active, but I was racing. I had raced maybe 4-5 races Bug ?? And I was winning
And I only have 3 race finishes. I have finished way more that 3 times

In Norway we don't really care about some bad language. We never "pip" swearing from tv interviews etc. Its funny to see official rally broadcasts when Petter Solbergs English swearing words get "pip"ed but not his Norwegians swearing words... And he has plenty
