Its difficult to explain what Ive done with showing screenies, but here u go.
note: I have NOT made photoshop polishing of the screenies.
- they are raw. - just cropd.

If you dl the pack, then first thing to do is watch a replay from wheels view, in South City. Looks faaaaaab....

Quote from Tweaker :I don't notice quality difference either. I'd much rather see BETTER textures, rather than just a resolution change to be honest. Besides, the resolution change looks to be upscaling a bitmap, so you really have no quality change AT ALL. If you had a higher resolution texture, it needs to be 'higher resolution' with finer details and less blurring.

agree.
- you dont get better quality just by making resolution changes or by
upscaling.

...its like burning your old videotapes onto dvd and expecting dvd quality.

- please be carefull and dont change dds files with alpha channels (trees, steelframes etc),
because u can end up with screwed mapping and black parts in texture ingame.

u have to try diff settings for diff textures,
because too much unsharp mask brightens up the texture or parts of it.

but I mostly use around:

amount 30%
radius 3.2 pixels
threshold 3 levels

looong way... I reach file H

Quote from felplacerad :i think it looks good bo, maybe you should work on it further?

Ive been testing variuos sharp and unsharp edits on all A and B files so far,
and it looks so great. walls etc really looks great with some gentle sharpen.
- only one thing... DONT do it on the tree dds files.
u will mess up the alpha/mapping thingie.
..or maybe its just me who have wrong "save dds" settings.

I did some test in photoshop with unsharp mask on a roadtexture, just to see what happent.

unsharp mask:
amount 50%
radius 3.2 pixels
threshold 0 levels

what u think?

edit... maybe I overdid it
I notice that theres a slightly purple tone in the original texturefile.

That was great.
Managed to stay out of trouble and didnt make any serious mistakes.
-my 2th pistop was nervewreching because the cars behind me was
closing in pretty fast, while I was going 80km/h towards the pitexit.

Quote from Vain :Will it be allowed to ignore all chat messages during the race?
If not, will chatting during the race be penalized? Actually if we can't ignore messages, everything should be penalized that causes a message. Chatting, pitting, setting a pb, setting a fastest lap, disconnecting, etc.

Vain

Well... some of it are actually usefull information..
...like if the car in front of you - a half lap ahead - goes into pit,
then you can floor it and maybe overtake while hes in da pits.

Good tip for you if you are annoyed with "pooong" and "schhhh" sounds:
- delete sys and message files in snd folder.

Quote from sgt.flippy :Why do you guys keep moaning about the buttons? And having to search for them. When you assigned all of the buttons to your wheel, you had to memorize them too. Now you just have to memorize the buttons again in an other position. When I'm turning, I'm not pressing any button on my wheel... So I don't need my two hands on the wheel, so when I need to press a button, I can easily put my hand on the shifter, and I know what button I need to press, blindely. It'll just need some practice, getting used to.

...I just label my buttons untill I memorized what they do,
and after some time I dont need to look on the wheel when using buttons.

...and the G25's missing buttons is the ONLY reason why I might not buy it...
