You're not supposed to blip the throttle when you down shift if you're not using the clutch pedal.

It might be your setup that causes you this problem. Post a replay.

Oh, and when i said it runs at 85 fps stable, i meant that the fps is always at 85 except for those 0.5s stutters that i have once every few random seconds.

10 to 100 seconds, not frames per second. What i meant is that the time between each stutter is absolutely random.

I'm still posting from the phone so it's often hard to type and make sense. I should af home in two days to try the suggested ideas.

I'm still not home, so i still can't test anything. I'll check that url you posted soon.

The harddrive is a generic 200gb sata2 hdd running at 7200rpm. The game runs at 85fps stable because that's what my screen's refresh rate locks it at, due to using vertical synchronization.

I'll make sure to update my sound card drivers, as well as disabling vertical synchronization (i think i first noticed the problem when i installed the version that allowed using aa and af from ingame, that's when i stopped using nvidia's nhancer and used lfs's ingame settings to enable vertical sync).

It's a matter of time, like everything else in life.

It'll take a few months to learn.

A 4 years old machine with 2x512 400mhz ram, a geforce 6800gt 256mb pci-e and an amd 3200+ @ 2ghz 939 pin venice core.

It was the top of the notch machine when i assembled it 4 years ago.

It runs stable at around 50 degrees (celcius)

My pc has no crap in the background. Nothing that is not needed is in the startup. I also tried turning off all the working applications in the background, including the antivirus.

I tried using a fresh version of lfs because i thought all the high resolution textures might cause my ram to work faster than it can. Didn't solve the problem.

I'll try that headphones trick when i'm freed home from the army, hopefully on thursday.

Playing lfs without a wheel is like going to war without an army.
Stutter problem every few seconds
BullHorn
S2 licensed
Every few seconds (Ranges from 10 easily to 100, feels random) my FPS jumps to 0 for less than a second and you can hear the engine sound stutter too.

It happens in both single and multi playing, it happens when I view replays, disconnecting the wheel doesn't help, turning the antivirus off doesn't help, I also defragmented, scanned for viruses and used anti-spyware applications but the PC was clean.

I'm running out of ideas. :/

2 weeks before I was enlisted to the army, I was really bored. I started playing Drift City and my goal was to reach level 71+. I reached level 74, were filthy rich and had everything UBER.

Then I quit and went to the army.

I did that trick with the helmet before I asked in the thread, but it came out as a huge black blob.

Don't have one yet, never needed one.

I'm 19 years old and plan on getting a license soon because I hear next year, they are going to double the minimum-lessons requirement, the price will be insane. I hope to start learning next week.

I'm looking for some skins. A black helmet, black pair of gloves and black overalls.

If one exists, let me know. If not, help me make some, please.

I liked it for PC because on PC, you can mod it. The vanilla game isn't too good.

It has a little option that makes the game harder as you grow in levels, which is kind of horrible. You can easily finish the game as a level 2 character, while as a level 40, it'll be near impossible to finish.

I would'nt get it for XBox 360. A PC version on the other hand, is pretty awesome and I've spent days playing it over and over again, trying different combinations of character builds and combat tactics.

This is a must. It's already there, we just need to get it to run.

It's a broken one, I'm afraid. Suggestion about braking: If your wheels lock up on full-brake, lower the brake power in the car setup screen. A perfect brake power is around having the wheels almost lock when you apply full brake. I have a DFP and I enjoy every aspect of it. If you can wait for a G25, do it as it is brilliant.

Many of the best racers have made their WRs with a mouse or a keyboard. Moving to a wheel will be a hard change. The main advantages of the wheel are the forcefeedback and the enhanced realism. It's just makes it a hundred times more fun.

I remember saying that LFS needs more bumps on the roads, but after playing on Aston with a real force-feedback wheel, I changed my mind.

Wonder what made me think that 4.60 was still popular. ;/
Logitech Profiler versions
BullHorn
S2 licensed
I've figured there are two prominent versions of the Logitech Profiler, 4.60 and 5.02. Both versions are used by all Logitech wheel owners. but I would like to know which version is used more for statistical reasons.

To me, 5.02 feels as if it has some smoothing option on, making the steering feel weird (Weird to me because I'm used to 4.60).

What version do you use and have you used the other version? Why do you prefer one over the other? Which one works better with LFS?

I'm posting this thread here and not in another section because I'm interested in the direct effect of the software on LFS.

I've randomly picked my name around a decade ago, before I knew English and what a bullhorn is.

To me, it was a combination of a bull and horns and it sounded cool. I was 8 or 9 years old.
