So You propably have huge problems with the drivers or directX,(as You have reinstalled it already, then... ->) try reinstalling graphic card drivers. Btw. Most of the people here are from Europe, and it's night here so don't expect to many responses . Be patient, in 12 hour there will be propably a lot more advices. It's midnight here so gtg to bed. Goodnight and goodluck.
In main folder of LFS there is cfg.txt. You can found all options of LFS there.
Paste this to Your cfg.txt - "Screen Info 0 0 800 600" (without " of course , or if You have such a line in Your cfg.txt, then simply overwrite it, 800 600 is the resolution, like 800x600). Maybe it will help
Btw. Can You play any other games? Do You only have problems with LFS? What's Your PC configuration?
Nah... I can refresh and I see servers... ok.. i'll try to describe it again ^^. I go to multiplayer... it automaticly refreshes the list, everything ok. Then... when I click on the server and for example it is full I am back to server list... then in that screen when I click refresh I get all servers with "no response". I have to go further back(to the screen where You schose skins resolution etc) and then go to server list screen again(it refreshes automaticly) and then everything is ok again. I can click refresh in that screen also without a problem UNTIL i don't try to join a full(for example) server.
Oh... and i've got another problem.
I've got this replay from DD server, in the beginning where is this huge pile up my LFS just simply freezes... here is a this replay(try focusing camera on middle section of the race):
Ok... guys got a strange bug. I'm in servers list screen, when i click on the servers and for example it is full, and then I return to servers list screen and click refresh... my lfs gets "no response" from EVERY server, i have to click "back" from the server list, and go to it again to be able to refresh... servers list... hope You get it .
LFS teaches basics of car behaviour and what You should do in certain conditions, that's all. In RL there are other factors which are quiet important(the element of suprise, fear, emotions, g'forces and much much more[oh... and tyre physics are better in RL] ). Playing LFS is much much better that reading a book on how to behave in certain conditions, but still it is far away from RL.
Have to agree! I had two major events including oversteer and I managed to save myself from it. I'm not sure, but propably without LFS and G25 I propably wouldn't know what the hell should I do, and I would slam the brakes. One was in the snow at 50... damn... triple oversteer from one side to another and back . Jakg is right in some way... if You are one of the people who panic and simply freeze... then "experience" won't help You... but if You are one of those who act, then You might be able to catch the slide(because some experience(at least thx to LFS we know the physics of the car ) is better that none).
Strange... every Scawen's post puts smile on my face . He seems... so... human... he is honest(not like those pr guys from most of the companies) and realy... umm... he's nice :razzseems so at least ). Go go Scavier team!
When You are in Your car, go to chase camera, then esc and go to options -> view. There is something like smoothing, try 0.5sec. I hope that You're talking about this . There is also "fixed to forward axis" try this on/off.
To soft rear arb will make rear behave like more pendulum I suppose. It will create bigger forces acting on the wheels for a moment. There is propably a "border" between too soft and soft arbs. Hell... I don't know anything about setups... but I think it MIGHT be true .
