Thanks for honesty . I undestand and good luck with the house . Well, pity that Scirocco will not be soon, but i bet You're also not happy about that . Ohh... we all love LFS, that's why there are so many people moaning , it's all about love . Take care :drink:
Well.. umm... i haven't . They were all just guess(even gear ratios are difficult to find). I've simply read some reviews and tried to do setup that handles nicely and realisticly(using Bob's VHPA of course ). Thanks for positive reactions... i never though that it would be so nicely welcomed. Of course I doubt that it handles like Astra exacly... but at least it's........ umm.... nice

"Currently i'm able to create two kinds of suspension and animate them in 3d (but i can't drive yet, there's a way to go before i can do that). The movement is visible in a 2-dimensional diagram which is useful as a debugging tool and something similar will probably be available in the setup screen, with certain components being adjustable while others are not."
If I understand correctly, suspension in LFS is simulated in 3d environment .
Double wishbones in LFS are working in 3d environment, Scawen said so long time ago(when introducing progress to S2), they are only shown in 2d to make it more... umm... clear for a simple user .
Really? Hmmm.. i've done this setup quiet some time ago, and i had a habit of doing rather accurate gearboxes... got to check it
Edit. Checked... yeah the final drive is different, couse FXO has different power/torque curve and different redline, i tried to match optimal gear change moments(by speed) to the original ones(using Bob's VHPA) by changing final drive ratio. It supposed to be ok ... post that modification later
Hi! Here I am presenting You Opel Astra 2.0T setup(the old Astra[which looks like FXO]), it's not perfect(as i've not been driving Opel Astra myself, and i've just used some data from the sites, watched some movies and that's all), but I hope You will enjoy it for cruising.
(It has 200kg balast btw 83% on the front, 16% intake restriction).
The porsche is rather tooooooo oversteery... propably... i was just playing today . Gearbox "should" be rather accurate.
Scawen said in December that VWC had dual wishbones in the back(in LFS, not in RL :razz, and that he would like to work on more types of suspensions in the future. So maybe we will get multilink... but only maybe ^^.
Hmm.... i have a strange feeling that i offended someone and this thread is going in strange direction . S14 DRIFT gratz, good luck . Ok, but seriously, I, and only I would not buy a console just to play one game and then leave the console behind(especially when it is a console of "dying" generation), rather than that, I would try to play with emulators on pc. I was just(not only of course) curious if anybody tried to emulate GT4. If anybody want to buy a console to play a specific game from his "memories" then buy it , I don't have enough money to spend it so "easly".
If I would be rich enough to spend 34 pounds on everything I want then yeah... mate, i'm not so desperate to play just that game to pay 34 pounds :razzbut thx for advice ). I'll better install 64bit system(couse propably it is the problem, as PS2 has a 64bit processor), already downloading Win7 64bit beta and see if that helps. Oh... and i've read that PAL version works better... gotta get it. (and i'm saving money for other game that comes to pc in few months ... but i wont say which one). And that GT4 is not fully playable... well it depends. Fully playable are those titles who run without any problems. GT4 runs(if runs!) with small artifacts but it is playable on some pcs(as seen in the video). I've started mine GT4, the amount of cars is truly great(although lack of Ferrari, Lamborghini etc is kinda... suprising)... but when in the race, i hear the sound, i can even steer, accelerate... the only problems are low fps(30'ish) and screen full of artifacts.
<--- then You should try .Unfortunately, Mine don't work like that one . I hope that they will release GT5 on PC... damn... i would definitly buy it... but propably i wish for too much :/
Hi there guys! Anybody tried to emulate GT4 on PC? What is Your experience? I have fail with it. Tried the new PCSX2 0.9.5 version, and it works fine in the menu but when i'm entering the race the screen is full of .. well... one huge artifact(like squares all over the screen).
I've got C2D 3,6Ghz, 4GB Ram and Radeon HD4870 yet it slow downs to 30 when looking at cars... and although i cant see anything when in the race(bloody artifacts) the fps are around 20.
Do You think that using DX10 64Bit system(i'm using WinXp32bit) will be a huge improvement? Any advices or ideas?
Interesting idea... but majority propably will not like it . Training lessons are not too difficult, and if You cant pass them then... well... You are not suited for the track .Yeah... I know FF in LFS is pretty good, but... yeah... most affortable wheels have too slow ff so the wheel doesn't counter quickly enough, and fighting it is also kinda... dull. Iracing offers quiet "action-packed" ff, it feels great and sooooo alive. In my opinion the best thing in IRacing(tracks are the second best thing).
Thought I will say sth. There were concept cars using joystics! (some of them were able to drive!) You can drive with anything You want... the only problem is the practicality of certain mechanisms. Wheen is the most comfortable and offers the best feedback, mouse is the quickiest, keyboard... well... You know ^^. I bet You could drive real car with a keyboard... for me it would be really difficult in high speeds but on low it would be rather... umm... safe...
Maybe simply they are so cheap because they are TVs... that's all. You pay so much for some 26", 24"(and 30" especially) monitors because they are considered "luxury" in pc world by their producers, yet TV's cost so little beacuse today who would buy 32" tv for 2000euro or more? Here I can see how cheap LCD could be(and they can propably be even cheaper). 26" LCD Monitor should cost 300euro with a good non-TN screen! If I can buy much bigger TV for similar prize with better screen... then there is something wrong with prizes?
There was something like this possible... but when... in S1? You could try to download LFS from here http://www.chudy2001.yoyo.pl/
Scawen could implement this feature in the future :/... it was usefull for some.
But it is quite suprising for me. There are even 32"(FULL HD) tv's for the prize of 26"(TN!) monitors. Usually TV's(I suppose so) are using rather good screens so You could watch from more extreme angles than TN monitors, so why they are so cheap? You get more for the same? I don't get it(forget about the fact how far away would You like to sit), just pure facts. Why? Yeah... tv has a little smaller resolution but still, it's a bigger screen so it should cost more?(yet it costs the same, and offers better angles propably?)
