Looking at that the seating position on thesv650s is indeed far to extreme for me.
What I do see however is that on allot of bikes I would barely be able to get my toes to touch the ground when standing still.
Not that I use 2 legs allot when standing still, but still could get quite scary when moments of instability occur.
I'm also quite vertically challenged at 5,7 feet same height as you although my legs are what makes me short.
My upper body is normal while my legs are quite short.
Already tried a ZZR600 without a super-bike handlebar kit and it wasn't that bad, certainly miles better then the stock clip-ons on the GPX600.
I am fairly knowledgeable when it comes to bikes.
Know all the things you posted, but the problem with the SV650s is the rather extreme seating position.
Dam that's a dam side better than what I ride.
I ride an old 80's pile of crap known as GPX600R
My plan is to actually upgrade to a newer 90's early 2000's bike somewhere near July in time for summer holidays.
I'm leaning strongly towards a Fazer600 or a Bandit 600. It will be one of those or a ZZR600 with a super-bike handlebar kit.

Whatever you do don't go down south, that my 2 cents.
I was chased by a bunch of weird hill-billy's, they asked me if I had time for Jesus.
I said no, after which they probably chased me trough half of the state of Missouri.
On my commute today the wind was blowing me from one side of the road to the other at one point.
But then again I was riding along a road on top of a dam, in the middle of a lake.
To anyone who is doubting about buying gt6, please don't.
It is a huge step forward, and you al know me not easy to please overly critical, which is an understatement.
But the way it feels trough the wheel is just so much better.
I can finally feel the weird of the car. And the best thing is that whatever I do to the car that feeling does not go away.
