could you recommend a model? remember £350 max. needs 3+GB of ram and hard drive space is a must.

sorry for the uberbump but i didn't want to make a new thread and my question is relevant. I'm in the market for a laptop. it will be used as part of my DJ setup. so it will only have music on it and Traktor (virtual DJ software). so for me, i need plenty of ram and good hdd space.
i don't want to break the bank on this little sucker so my budget is £350. it won't be playing the latest games (my desktop does that ) and it won't be doing anything much more cpu intensive as maybe playing 4 tunes at the same time. it doesn't even need a good soundcard as the controller i'll be using has a built in soundcard.

I'm currently looking at this little steal: Acer Aspire 5336
i can get it for ~£230 here: PC-Titan
any/all help input is welcomed.

sure. i have some trance stuff i've not taken for a spin yet. i'll get on it now in fact lol. same bpm as that bass-oon entry? 80 minutes (cd) or 2 hours(mp3 player)?

that bass-oon mix took about 1 hour finding the tunes and 12 practice mixes. but i had it tight after about 3. i wanted to be sure i could mix it in the dark and on gear i wasn't familiar with.

Don't forget to tune into Innervisions ERadio tonight. it's my first proper exploration into techno. house first, but then techno. we'll finish on progressive. so nobody will every know we were gone. shhhhh tell nobody. well, tell everybody but erm aye. you know what i mean. i think.

So, RAID-5 or 6 would be the best choice. how much pain is involved in making the switch. i'm assuming i'd lose all data on my current drives as they will be used in raid (backup data i know).

it's a tidy system. i'm a bit of a raid noob. would you recommend switching to a raid setup? and if so, what would it entail? i know i could read up on it over on google. but i find it much easier to just ask someone who is using something i might be interested in.

bring back the good old fashioned restart the level/race. flashback and this shift are the new tarred run off areas in the game world. even though it's just a game, these things take away so much of the risk element in a game. now you don't need to worry about wrecking your race/level because you no longer need to redo the whole level again.
part of the fun about a game was talking about how many tries it took to to complete a certain aspect. this doesn't happen any more.

i agree. it seems that game designers feel that you need to add a gimik to a game to give it the edge over their competition. but what they're actually doing is dumbing down their content so that the game becomes easier. flashback anyone?
