Well, the point is being made that the fact of owning, and subsequently being able to shove a shotgun into someones face is deterent enough.

Spoken like a true American

Surely having being able to have a gun to protect your house in the US would lead to lower crime figures?, which is obviously doesn't as the US has some on the highest murder and crime rates in the world, pretty much like corporal punishment not actually being a deterent against crime.

A few premium silvias, but they won't be the ones in the used dealership, as those are all standards

Don't know if its been mentioned before, but it appears that premium cars are locked and tied into you driver level (XP).

In this video you can clearly see that you have to be a certain driver level to "unlock" premium cars.

I don't know where people think that the law doesn't allow them to protect themselves, their family, or their property, because it does.

Under British criminal law, a person is allowed to use "reasonable force" to either arrest or stop a person commiting a criminal act, in self defense, or defence of property.

Obvioulsy the key point is "reasonable force" and is up for question, but you are protected under British law, and should never think you aren't.

Some online retailers have stock, and have already started shipping, HMV being one of them, but this is fairly normal, and I wouldn't expect many people to recieve their copies before Tuesday

Quote from The General Lee :Not really.

Given the kind of shit I've been through (Which isn't much compared to say, soldiers or something) but maybe you would be too.

Different situations lead to different actions.

Me too mate, could probably tell a few tales from my 36 years on the planet that would curl your toes Smile

Quote from GFresh :I keep a telescopic batton beside my bed, i've fortunately never had to use it, but i'm glad it's there.
And there's absolutely NO FRIKKIN WAY i'd leave my front or back door unlocked, that shit's retarded...

Bottomline is, if someone wants to get in, they will, regardless of a locked door.

I think too many people have been reading the daily mail..........

Quote from tristancliffe :No, I don't think people should keep weapons in their house, even if the weapons are just strategically placed household items.

And I don't even bother locking my front door at night.

Best not mention that to your contents insurer , just in case like

Quote from Vain :I can't see how pointing a gun at a possibly armed guy's face makes you any safer. The only possible result I can see is that your chances of death rise from about 0-0.5% in a normal robbery to 50% in a straight stand-off between two scared guys who both fear for their lives.

Also consider the chance of yourself killing a 16 year old teenager who thought your place was vacated and the possibility of mis-use of the gun by someone else or yourself under emotional stress.

The only thing a gun can do is kill. If that's what you want, keep it. If you want to avoid killing or getting killed, don't keep it.
