So, its just as people have been saying for the last 71 pages, its business as usual.

Its just the doomsayers love to come up with all sorts of theories about how LFS is dead, sure progress is slow, but thats the nature of the beast, like it or lump it.

Cordura / armoured textile gear would fit the bill for all styles of bike IMO

Quote from breadfan :This thread is very relevant to my interests. If you don't mind, I'd hijack a little and ask: What protective gear do you recommend for choppers and touring bikes, as sports bikes aren't my cup of tea (as you british guys put it ).

Makes no difference (IMO) what you are riding, crashing is the same if its a sports bike, tourer or cruiser.

When I was hit by a car at 30mph, I swear that if I hadn't been wearing decent boots, I'd have lost a foot, as my foot had got caught in the back wheel.

There is no excuse for not wearing full saftey gear, I'd also say wearing a back protector is a worthwhile thing to do.

Quote from Nathan_French_14 :AMG Merc E55

Them is not alot of pence.

See, now THAT is what I am talking about.

Be a super speedy pimp for £3.5k

I dunno, £3.5k for a car like this is pretty much pence considering it cost a 10-20 times more when it was new.

Autotrader has more of them for around that price.

You can pick up a 5.4lt, V8, nearly 400bhp AMG E55 Merc for pence these days.

Quote from JJ72 :Every car in Forza has a cockpit.

Yup, and every car in Forza has an interior, although its "just" the sides, not the rear.

They aren't perfect, some have dials and displays that don't work, but at least they are all there, and all custom.

It obvious (to me, anyway), that PD have bitten off more than they can chew with GT5.

I wouldn't mind betting that the 200 / 800 split was never intentional, I reckon PD had the full intention of having 1000 hi-fidelity car models.

I think the 200 / 800 split is the point when Sony turned round and said "enough is enough, release the damn thing".

It does seem strange, because Kaz is such a perfectionist, and I reckon he can't be happy at having 4/5ths of the available cars to a clearly substandard level.

Either that, or the 1000 cars was purely a marketing bullet point from the get go.

I truely hope that the 800 cars ripped from GT4/PSP are JUST the models / textures, and don't use the same sounds and physics, because if thats the case, we are then in a whole new realm of dissapointment.

Bottomline, GT5 will sell by the bucketload, regardless of what I think.

Quote from lukelfs :I guess that all the cars in GT5 P will be in GT5 with interiors, the cars in prologue were some of my favourites :P

There is a premium car list over at GTPlanet, and yes, all the GT5P cars are premium.

Quote from lukelfs :Also all you moaning about no interior, were you fine playing GT4??

GT4?, come on man, that was 6 years ago, things have moved on now, IMO, a cockpit view is pretty much standard, and expected these days.

I hope it will be a good game, I've been looking forward to GT5 for 6 years

Yeah, it is a big deal, for me anyway, I use cockpit exclusively if the car has one.

Anyway.....looks like the "standard" cars may also have "opaque" windscreens too, to hide the lack of interior modelling.

GTPlanet seem to think that the 800 standard cars will have no cockpit view......

Its pure marketing, "1000 CARS!!!!", the 800 are just there to make up the numbers

Quote from CoolColJ :Well would you rather have 200 really detailed cars only, or the 200 cars + 800 more?

Hmmm....not an easy question IMO.

I'd personally, rather have ALL cars, modelled and detailed to the SAME level (whatever that maybe), it just seems odd that you are going to have 4/5ths of the available cars produced to a "sub standard" level.

PD have said themselves, that the premium modelling has been pushed too far for the current hardware, they should have toned down the level, and spread a lower level of detail, maybe somewhere between the premium and standard level to the whole stable of cars.

I think its just going to be dissapointing, and maybe a little disjointed going from a premium model ingame, to a standard one, am I really going to want to be using a standard model ingame, when there are premium ones?.

A fair bit of clear, concise info HERE 7 pages of it.

I noticed, standard cars get "basic" headlights only, no high/low beam, still no confirmation of the dashboards though.

If money is tight, then the old one, but the new one is better, better enough to warrant paying a bit more for it (IMO)

Slim.

Why buy old tech, when you can buy the new(er) improved tech?

Quote from gtpsharky :Isn't that being a bit rash?

To you, maybe, to me, not so.

I have been looking forward to GT5 for a dogs age, and would be sorely dissapointed if they were missing from 4/5th's of the cars.

A cockpit view, to me, is very important.
