I sure as heck hope GT5 isn't like that .

I am under no illusions that the cockpit views in FM3 are amazing, but at least they are all custom (even if some of the dials and displays don't work).

Quote from CoolColJ :GT PSP had cockpits for all 800+ cars. Even though they were generic and blacked out, it was still a cockpit for all of them. I expect no less for GT5

Generic and "blacked out"?

Yeah, THIS, won't cut it

I hope so, I will be dissapointed if they don't.

I know, but again, its all ambiguious, I want solid, concrete proof that ALL 1000 cars will feature a custom, cockpit view.

Quote :Okay. There will be 800 standard cars and 200 premium cars. The difference will be noticeable. The premium cars will have greater details in pretty much all aspects, including the vehicle's undercarriage and dashboard.

Again, premium with dashboard, standard without.

If this is indeed the case, I think I may even reconsider getting GT5

Yeah, I got that bit, but there is still some ambiguity over the availability of COCKPIT view in the standard models.

Quote :There has been much debate over what the difference between Standard and Premium cars would be in GT5. Speculation has run rampant ever since the distinction was announced, but a new article from Eurogamer got the facts straight from Kazunori Yamauchi's mouth.

Of the 1,000 cars in GT5, 800 will be Standard while 200 will be Premium. As expected, the Standard models will be cars found in GT4 and GTPSP, upscaled and optimized for the PS3, while Premium models will show a ridiculous amount of detail: "every single screw is visible in the hubs, the interiors have been recreated down to the stitching, and their undersides have been comprehensively modelled to take into account a new physics system which, along with allowing for dents and scratches, can sends your ride flipping through the air during collisions."

Unfortunately, there is one more key distinction between the two types of cars: Standard cars will not sport an interior view. This is quite a dissappointment, as one of the key innovations that increased immersion in GT5 was the cockpit. Considering that GT5 has been in development for 5 years, it had been hoped that PD would include interiors on all cars, despite the high car count. Oh well, maybe in GT6?

Maybe I am dumb, but I still don't fully understand this standard vs premium lark

The noise is my biggest issue with the 360, the PS3 is whisper quiet, while the 360 (I have a jasper) sounds like a 747 taking off!!!!.

At least with a 250GB HDD you can install games to the HDD and stop some of the noise

Jasper didn't "fix" it, but it got a whole lot better, the slim cured it completely (apparently).

Personally, I'd say yes, mainly because of this, but yours obviously isn't a cut and dry situation.

Bottomline, the elite isn't a "bad" console.

The major differences are......

Quieter
Cooler running, One large more efficient fan rather than two small ones, 45 nanometer and integrated CPU and GPU, supposedly RROD proof
250GB HDD
Built in Wireless N
Dedicated Kinect port
5 USB ports

If I were you, I'd cancel the elite and wait for the slim.

Deffo going to be replacing my current 360 with a new slim, 250GB HDD and quiet performance make it a no brainer, plus my missus said that black would "go" better with our AV setup, my grey 360 does look a bit out of place

Its just a bollocky gimmick to sell more TV sets to people who don't need a new set, bit like HD, I bet a large percentage of people who buy a HD set have no means of getting a HD signal to the TV.

I've lost count of the amount of people I've corrected, "Hey, my new HD TV looks fantastic, you can really see the difference", "really?, what HD source are you using?", "source?, huh?", "you do realise you need a HD source, like SkyHD, Bluray, a HD console, or other form of HD broadcast to actually get HD".................normally the discussion ends there.

Quote from jibber :Did they recently add this? Last thing i've seen was loads of people complaining about the auto-aim fest that's going on online, demanding a change.

Nope, always been hardcore servers, you just have to level up to a certain level in MP (can't remember what level) to unlock them

Quote from jibber :Since there's no "hardcore" servers where auto aim isn't allowed, yes. All i plan doing online is doing gang hideouts with friends. And the coop-missions once we get them. Otherwise it's pretty pointless, unless they add servers where it's not allowed to use auto-aim.

You can get PvP hardcore servers where auto-aim is off
