Good movie. Lots of action shown btu sometimes the camera angles were a bit too over the top. Somnething that also detracted from it was some of the missing skins only showing white cars. 7/10
Cool music and idea about rewinding but that effect was overused and it made it look like your drifts all resulted in spins at the end so you didn't show the corner exit.
Great movie. The first half was better than the second. The angles used in the south city shots were something totally fresh. The fern bay stuff was the same old dirfting you usualy see. 7/10 only because the fern bay bit let it down.
Totally unprepared for this race, just didn't have enough time to put in to prac. Had a decent qual set but in testing the tyres didn't last the 11 laps so decided to use R3s for the race. Bad choice and the whole field ended up taking me within the first 2 laps after qualifying second.
Second race decided to go with the 2s and just try to preserve them but it didn't go well. Spun at the start then on at the hairpins someone punted me from behind at about 200km/h and I had a play in the sandpit for a good 20 seconds. The rest of the race I was chasing hard and managed to get a few spots back. Had a nice battle with K.Doughty for a lap or two but my tyres just couldn't take any more around that last corner so had to succeed the position.
Well done to Kev, great qualyfing time and impressive racing to win both. Hopefully the racing becomes a bit cleaner for the next rounds. Guess everyone is a little on edge for the first race.
3800+ X2 @ 2.5ghz, 7900GS and plays fine at 1280x720 full detail with HDR enabled but I've sacrificed AA. Don't really need it since the graphics are pretty damn sharp anyway.
I haven't come across any bugs yet. Although I am on a very fresh windows install. Oh for soem reason I can't get my wheel working hehe that might be a bug.
Just wondering if we could get the older packs for download? I happen to prefer some of the older engine sounds and I don't have them anymore since I overwrote them with the latest pack.
How the hell do you get a wheel working with this game? Is a wheel any good? I've just been playing for 3 hours with the arrow keys trying to finally unlock the bike stores but the popo keep busting me and throwing me in jail. Driving around to unlock stuff has me cursing since it's like NFS, the physcics are just like NFS as well, even in Hypersport or whatever the most realistic mode is.
Graphics are superb though, HDR is gorgeous and not really over the top with bloom effect. I wish LFS had the same collisions
I was under the impression the UFRs could brake later since they're nice and small compared to the bigger XFRs. Anyway it's a pretty level playing field and everyone takes care, a few bumps and scrapes are sure to happen though.
All the tracks and cars have a 3 letter combination. Don't feel too daunted by them now, give it a month or so and you'll soon know all the abbreviations.
Don't remember exactly when I got into LFS but I registered in April 2003. My mate told me about it and said it was a great racing game you drive using the mouse. I'd only played NFS before then so was intrigued and downloaded the demo which was 0.2, still have it installed on my old hard drive. Loved it since I first drove it, felt so realistic and was a great challenge.
Sort of got bored of the demo cars and I checked on LFS every one in a while till S1 and I then got a wheel. But life took over, I forgot all about LFS and sold the wheel. Rewind 5 months I find myself with heaps of time and remember LFS. Check the website and there's something called S2 now. Sweet. Download the demo, have a play and get hooked more than ever. 1-2 weeks later I'm buying a licence and ordering a G25. The rest is history
There's now ay of knowing what port a server is running on unless you know the config file. Try using Browse For Speed, it might speed things up a bit.
