your work is amazing mate, details like this make the differences between real life and the game very small!

on another note i prefer the green and red kerbs to the ones you have made with the spots on them. Although both are good

Inspired by the series 1 106 Rallye, a 'track version' with a little road grime and stone chips, and a muddy version to use on rallyx

i made this today, i think that a few touches like dirt and other things really adds to realism of a skin

funnily enough, for me, the decision to buy a full licence, had nothing to do with a forum, or about other people who have also bought a licence, and more to do with the fact that i liked the game

i made this one last week sometime, no previews im afraid so youll need cmx viewer. The only thing i dont like about it is the colour of the bonnet and the reflections of the paint, make the dirt on the bonnet reflective so i need to change that part

and what a shame the skins carbon bonnet is wrong it stops before the front of the bonnet does

i think you just havent assigned the axis correctly, if they are registering on the horizontal bars, there is nothing wrong with the dfp itself.

Continue to play with the settings for the throttle brake combined axis. Its in there somewhere!

As an aside, the very first problem you had, the throttle not registering full on the green in game bar, i just had today. It solved it by unplugging and plugging the wheel back in at the usb plug, but a couple of times it came back. I reckon its something in the driver software thats responsible as the pedals still functioned perfectly, just didnt give full throttle??

that skin will be very very very difficult to do, because it goes over the edges of the skin in many places and is an intricate design

its not an r88, the vents are wrong, the r88 has vents next to the cockpit on the top of the side pods.

hi guys, first ever render request

please could someone render these two skins as 1024x768, the 'dirty' skin on track somewhere preferably, and the clean one on a mirror base like some people have done above.

Im not sure how the process works, but it would be great if you could substitute my 2d bonnet pins for 3d ones and preferably use the standard in game, split 6 spoke white wheels (maybe a bit more grey and dirty on the dirty skin render) or ones that most closely resemble these wheels, Speedline Chronos - http://www.106rallye.co.uk/members/dynofiend/xsi/tripod.jpg

Maybe also use the registration number K898 DAC as well pretty please.

Thanks for you help

sorry TiJay i never even noticed the bumpers, fair play mate, i take it back, i should look harder before commenting next time

kansei - it took hours to get the dirt right on the car, i guess it would be an easy job to change the colour of the car, and have different coloured bonnets too, was there anything specific you wanted, PM me if you like

not being overly critical, but its not much of a skin, just has a few logos on it

On another note, i took the advice of a couple of people about my 106 XSi skin and 'dirtied' it up, note the hand print on the bonnet and the graffiti on the boot Again its only the first time i tried making dirt on a car and i didnt use any techniques, i just played around. I found it really hard to get the places where panels meet to be right because i used about 4 colours of dirt all hand applied so each corner ended up different, hopefully the blending doesnt show too much! Ironically the real thing has never been this dirty

a couple of UK police skins, both using the more modern batternburg design. One a 'full' batternburg ultra high visibility design as found on traffic/motorway type cars, the other a 'half' batternburg as more often found on basic patrol cars. Ive used the same roof idents on both cars but these are easily changed, as would be the force crest (West Midlands) on the rear quarter.

Enjoy

Quote from Gimpster :My question is why would anyone in thier Left mind race or do a track day with tires that are prone to excessive sidewall flex.

The cars in LFS may have accurate sidewall flex but they are the wrong dam tires for the application they are being used for.

because when using 'trackday' type tyres or even full slicks, the massive amount of extra grip they provide requires the entire suspension setup to be revised, often needing spring rates to be increased 2 or 3 times over standard, as well as damping rates. Most people cant afford this, or simply dont want to have a car with such stiff suspension for the times it isnt being used on track.

contemplating this i went out and shoved around my 106 which is on 45 profile tyres and fairly stiff suspension. Nearly all the movement when shoving it by hand, comes from the tyres and the sidewalls of the tyres. If i had the strength (and if the car wasnt made from foil) then when shoved sideways hard enough im sure it would flex similarly to the in game physics.

Other things to take into account are that after races, game tyres are usually hot and sticky and clean. If cold and dirty they probably wouldnt deflect as much.

must be the only LM car where the gearbox is louder than the engine! I was hoping it would sound a bit like the rip snorting 905s which i know and love i hope at least that they use the Peugeot Sport colours to carry on the tradition

The ncap one also works well in silver

and as promised the HAPPY TREE FRIENDS, again very simple but i like the way theres a landscape all the way round the car and and how the eyeball wraps to the roof. Plus the pic on the boot looks like all the characters have been splatted onto it

In sympathy to the way alot of drivers seem to end up in T1 on the bronze UF1 server... very simple i know, but makes me smile

what about still allowing access to all licence holders, but discounting anyone higher than bronze holders from the points scoring? is that possible or is that not fair?

Quote from Dajmin :I'd prefer it if the upgraded license holders couldn't go backwards the same way lower licensees can't go forwards.

i think this should be the case as well really, otherwise like you say, the competition isnt fair, and you end up being able to score more points when the gold and silver racers arent in the field, meaning its a bit of a lottery.

And i know what you mean about the banger racers, plenty of times i have been deliberately, and theres no other word for it, forced off the track, only for the offending player to disconnect before i can type an angry smiley lol
