Make use of the knobbly tires for once.
Bigger jumps too, something similar to that of a table top

Could have a rally-x track or something.

Just a thought

Quote from Ingolf :So FPVaroon, what wheel did you end up with?
Would be nice to hear and what you think about whatever you decided anyway... as a conclusion of this thread!

I think I'll go with the G27, I'm awaiting my tax rebate so I can get it, hopefully in the next 1-2 weeks.

I'm just throwing ideas out there to get the numbers up

Flight simulator is on there, many pilots play that the same way many drivers play lfs, the others just stop playing, still a purchase.

Worse case scenario I think if people flocked to LFS is that certain pro servers will lift there LFS XP requirement to enter

LFS on steam?

I can't help but notice the threads about the decline of LFS popularity.

Here's an idea.. Advertise and sell on Steam?

I'd like to see a tunnel version of this.
No need for textures apart from the walls.

Imagine...

32 players flat out through a 2-6 lane tunnel.

Or even custom design with a track building mode, up hill/down hill, various corners and straights.

Design can be as simple as building a roller coaster in roller coaster tycoon

Edit : can call them fun maps, add some loops as well
Doesn't have to be a tunnel either, a simple Grass plain say 10x10km as a base and elevated road that can be built ontop letting your imagination do the rest

Returned to LFS after 4 years, G25 vs G27

I first started playing in 2004 and stopped around 2006
About 2 months ago cleaning out my cupboard I found my old logitech formula virbration wheel.

Plugged it in and downloaded live for speed.
After 2 months of solid racing my wheel stopped functioning

IRL I have always had a manual drivers car, I feel as if I need a realistic racing wheel for the computer for obvious reasons.

So here's my question.

G25 or G27.

What is better at what..?
.eg

Which has the better/stonger or more accurate Force feed back?

Which has the better wheel?

Which has the better shifter both H-pattern and Sequential?

Is there a hand brake leaver?

Do the pedals have force feed back?

Which is less likely to break and what causes them to break?

Well it's been a year since I've touched LFS but i'm going to get back into it.

Problem is though I got no setups so is there a website out there that will allow me to download some good setups?

Thanks,
Aaron.

Thank you this will help with my licance testing . Now all I need is a wheel that has massive amounts of force feed back to simulate steering with a small steering wheel on a front heavy car with 9inch wide front tyres.

Lol, I paid a little over $300 to insure mine, but I put the car in my mums name so I got the insurance cheaper .

It takes the exact same amount of space as your sig does when you take yours away I'll take mine away.

Quote from J.Gent :What sort of HP Performance do you get at the moment, I imagine that its handling is only adequate on tarmac, so why do you want monster horsepower?

(slaps head, why wouldn't he want monster horsepower)

At the moment it's 82kw and 228nm or 110 hp and 168lb/ft, I'll be looking at getting a 4.1L 6cyl what is my engine with a different sized stroke. Although I'd rather just buy the new engine then change the stroke because the engines are worth $200 at the wreckers. The 4.1L have 98kw(132hp) and 295nm (217 lb/ft).

I won't touch the 6cyl engine because it's simply not worth the effort since the car is designd and structured for a 5.8L v8 so that's what I will be getting eventualy. the 351ci cleveland that came with the car as an option has 149kw (200hp) 415nm (306 ft/lb) < gotta remember that's bone stock and relines at only 4300rpm chunky cam shaft and some other minor mods should get that that engine reaching 400hp

As for the handling bit, it actually handles great, like a sports car I was suprised how good it sticks to the road. I've taken it on dirt before as you can see from the the pic with the motorbike on the back, I was following my cousin on private propity he was in his 4 wheel drive nissan it was a bit slipery but still held to the dirt ok at 80km (divide 80 by 1.609 can't be f***ed working out the equasion for mph).

Edit: fixed a few spelling errors.

Quote from jtr99 :Hey Aaron, nice one. Some of what you're doing to the ute seems a bit like putting lipstick on a horse,

I can't really do much to the engine until I'm 21 or I won't be aloud to drive it, I'll just pritty it up and make it look nice then just dump a 5.8L cleveland in it the day I get off my P's.
