Don't know if this has been posted here, but last night I was checking AIWR and when I used !bl fe3 fx2 or !bl FE3 FX2 I would get two different drivers with the same lap time....

Quote from kiste :sure but if they all leave and search a new team the team can´t be that inactive.

That's precisely my point!

Well a couples of weeks ago we’ve started a cooperation with eteam, 3 weeks ago we’ve done our first race (24h) and 15 drivers were present (we had 2 cars on the podium), momo and others were surprised how the eteam was waking up. We’ve made many plans for the future together and everyone was motivated (ex Carpio who can’t make up his mind atm), I’ve rented many servers to cover every aspect for everyone, now I’ve been on holidays for 3 weeks and I have to read this topic to get the news that the eteam doesn’t exist anymore…. Not even a PM or an email to inform me, I don’t know how to call that comportment, but that’s not the right way to do things in my book!
WTH happened during those 3 weeks?

Sorry for being of topic, but since the news was only here to be found, thought I should answer here too!

@ex Eteam guys: something I don't get here, you all left because of inactivity, and now you're all searching for new teams, does that mean you are going to be more active in an other team?

BTW thx for telling me!!

@EQ Worry: if you're looking to give your wife a reason to divorce you, keep working on your laptop when she's enjoying the Italian sun...waiting for you to snap out of your Airio addiction lol

Next year, she should not let you take the laptop on holidays...that's what mine does!

Quote from franky500 :Control panel issue: the TCAdmin control panel we use seems to be having issues connecting to the tcadmin license server. This is causing an error on the CP.

a ticket has been logged with TCAdmin and hopefully this will have a resolution soon.

I feel for you mate, you've been living hell the last couples of weeks, sometimes even doing your best isn't enough ....

Damn computers, how funny is that love and hate relationship we have with them.

Keep us posted!

I am French, but after their poor performances I'll be happy to support Holland (or wife will kill me lol)...even if I think Spain is the stronger team!

I don’t know about weather forecast, but I know that science is a slow process where previous and actual believes are always put in question, so they are only the best of what we can do at a moment in time.

I think the best heritage for our children’s is clean water, clean air and clean food. Today none of those 3 are clean, we’ve even manage to infect all the fishes in the sea, antibiotics and contraception medications are in all our water supplies (and I don’t talk about all the other rejections due to intensive agriculture and industries) and I don’t think we can discuss that the quality of the air has not improved in the last 100 years. The hole in the ozone is real and it is also true that since we’ve stopped to use the gazes (CFC) which we thought were damaging it, the hole has been stable and was even recently reported to have been reducing. And I could go on for hours about facts we can see with our eyes, so if the question is ‘’do we have an impact in damaging the planet and contributing to global warming’’, I guess the answer is yes (by how much is not really important I think)…sadly we live in a world where the technique is to contradict everything enough to make ppls doubt and when they do, most of them don’t make a choice or go against.

Also I believe that ecology is unavoidable and is very expensive for the governments who have to start it and if they look for new revenues, in short term they will never be sufficient if oil has to disappear… that’s why they try to make us believe that wind, sun and biomass are they ways we should adopt, but I believe that they are all possible transitions from oil revenues to a ‘’greener’’ forms of revenues…sadly we almost never talk about things like geothermal energy, 5% is exploitable now and without much technologic improvement it has 5000 years of energy to offer to the all planet (oil company can drill holes 11kms deep now, say that we improve this to 30kms to get under hearth’s crust and we could use geothermal energy everywhere in the world at very low cost and with no negative rejections), but it would be very hard to justify the high energy bills we have to pay (no big dams, no expensive research, no expensive oil rigs and refineries…..). I believe that ppls in our governments are chosen to keep things as they are and avoid changes at all cost, today they can’t deny ecology to ppls because too many evidences are showing we need to change, but they still can keep oil a little cheaper than advertised renewable energies (wind, sun and biomass) which needs gigantic investments to become a viable solution in our economic system, so taxes on fuel will happen, but they will be moderated and will have very little impact on speeding up ecology since at least a doubling of the price would start to have a real impact….

One of you said that human nature was greedy and selfish, that’s true, but I don’t believe human nature is a definitive thing, human nature evolutes and changes function of its environment and education. We are formed to be competitive, greedy and selfish from day one because a minority is owning the world and that’s the best way for them to avoid solidarity in the majority…

So now if the so said scientific community aggravate the facts to fight those big machines (corporate and government) and make us realize that we can’t go on living like this…so be it!

I agree that the science is more than doubtable, it could be wrong both ways too, so I chose to be a believer because in doubt I think it is better to go for a cleaner way of living… it is less risky than denying it…

Depends what you want I think...
Security/privacy: Firefox and/or Opera
Usability and customization: Firefox
Speed: Google Chrome

Note that I don’t mention IE because it is part of the operating system and uses activeX function which makes it very unsafe to use… Only reason I don’t remove it is because it is needed to auto updates windows…

I have all browsers installed (ex Safari for personal reasons I will not discuss here) and like to use one for daily browsing and one for more sensitive operations…

Daily: Firefox with noscript, adblock, Wot, Webmailnotifier (also have spywareblaster to prevent 90% of spyware cookies without using any RAM or CPU) and it is set to delete all browsing data when I close it (exclude the cookies of my favorite websites)…next to that I have Flash, Shockwave, Quicktime alternative, Real alternative, WM pluggin and of course JRE (java)…Ho and I tweaked my Firefox to death following advises from this guide which I recommend to anyone: http://www.tweakguides.com/Firefox_1.html

Sensitive operations: Opera because they are almost always the fastest to react to security problems with very efficient patches ( I don't use it for anything else).

I am not a security freak, I like proper balance between security and user friendliness, but I know too much to do my Bank on a windows machine, for that I use something like puppy linux or any other quick linux distro I can boot with a live CD (strait from CDRom or from a virtual machine with an image when I am lazy).

For the irreducible IE users, there is one thing which has not been mentioned here, Check out Chrome Frame which is an open source plug-in that seamlessly brings Google Chrome's open web technologies and speedy JavaScript engine to Internet Explorer. http://code.google.com/chrome/chromeframe/

Edit: and always use the last version, this is very important for security!

I was just reading this article and thought let's post it here and aliment the fire a bit http://www.smh.com.au/technolo ... 609-xu3v.html?autostart=1

Quote :BP, facing a tidal wave of bad publicity over the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, is buying search terms on internet search engines to point users to the company's official public relations crisis page.

Searches on Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft's Bing for "oil spill", "Gulf oil spill", or related phrases deliver a "sponsored link" at the top of the search results page to BP.com and the message: "Learn more about how BP is helping."

Clicking on the sponsored link takes a user to BP's website, where the company outlines the measures it is taking to combat the damage from the greatest environmental calamity in US history.

I remember Total and Shell reacting in similar ways when facing similar disasters, financing add campaigns is often cheaper than facing responsibilities.... This only demonstrates how much impact adds have on us and how brain washed we are by them.... and they know it

let's hope that this one is big enough to make us realize the price of our dependency to oil for energy...

Quote from dekojester :NDR used the 20/23/24 in GTAL, and seemed to me that most drivers felt it was a good balance.

MoE added some ballast to the XR2, but that seemed to keep people away from it there.

I'd say that the 20/23/24 is sufficient for GT2.

I agree with you, we've tested it intensively on our GT2 server last year and came to the same conclusion, beginners seems to use the FX2 more and often makes it looks slow, but with Masai in it we had to hold him off with 23%...

So I'll say 20/23/24 too...don't like to combine added mass with air restriction...

no it will work in your network if they are on the same router, to check what IP your pc has go Start/Run and type cmd, then type ipconfig.

The port is configured in server settings...

Make sure your firewall allows it, sometimes it popup in the back and connection fail because you don't see it..

Here some more info: http://en.lfsmanual.net/wiki/H ... #How_to_play_LFS_on_a_LAN

Just go multiplayer and create a new host, chose the track and in the next window select LOCAL by visibility...it will be LAN only...

To connect the other pc, chose local network and input the IP adress+port from the server PC to join...

Good luck!

Quote from franky500 :anybody still playing RBR.

Got the RSRBR2010 mod on it so i can do online sessions (its against the clock but other people set times aswell)

I have installed the game no less than a dozen times in the past but have never got round to playing it.

i do not know why!.

THX for the heads up on RSRBR2010, I haven't played it for a while now, but I was a rally driver in RL (long time ago ) and I can say that RBR is the only rally sim where cars handles quite realistic. It is very challenging at first and you get the feeling you will never get it right, but when you do, it is the greatest reward in sim racing...give it a chance!
