In this second part of our series we have tried something a bit different, first major change is that the GT2 server will become a general server (GEN) where we are going to race different cars and tracks, second there will be only 2 events a week with 3 races each, on Monday TBO and on Wednesday GEN. The 3 races will have different race length from 10min+1lap No Pit, 20min+1lap Pit (free work), 30min+1lap Pit (free work), there will be only one quali of 15 min before race 1 and to reward consistency and racers who always finishes, race 2 and 3 will use the results from the previous race, others will be able to join in the back. The server will remain public during races which will allow racers to join the second or third race if they were a bit late. No mid race join will be allowed and during races no rejoin, we hope that everyone will respect the code of no chat (check the communication part of the rules if you want to use private messaging during race).
One thing which doesn’t change is that we want keep this series half way between serious and friendly, so it is still be open to everyone without registration needed. Of course it is always useful to register to our forum and present yourself, we are a community of friends, so join and be one of us!
TBO server will have a race calendar planned long in front and to be more interactive for the community, we will vote weekly on combo’s for the GEN server. So make sure you are registered to the forum to be able to vote...
Race format for both servers will be as follows:
19:40 UTC / quali 15min
20:00 UTC / Race1 10min+1lap no pit
20:20 UTC / Race2 20min+1lap with pit (free work)(start grid=finish order R1)(others can join in the back)
20:50 UTC / Race3 30min+1lap with pit (free work)(start grid=finish order R2)(others can join in the back)
21:30 UTC / end.....
Don’t forget that the races are race length+1 lap, so on some track it can extend the race from 4 or 5 min, which means we will have more than 5 min rest period between races to change our sets and prepare for next race...Free work means that there will be no pit window and it is up to you if you do change tires, tank or repair.
The series will start officially on December 7th, 2009 and will end February 24th, 2010. Points will be attributed to every racers finishing races and will be accumulated till the end of the season, the stats will be displayed in 2 categories, TBO only, GEN only.

A license lock will be applied just before the race to insure that lap time difference are not too important, the copper license will be required to race in dailycious. Licenses are achieved with driving certain lap time on our servers, to check the lap time required for copper license, go on track and type !lcs (LCS) in the chat. Also note that admins have been very indulgent and many ‘’second’’ chances have been given, the quality of races has now considerably improved we are going to be more demanding as it keeps doing so.
Our system is fully automatic and will not allow manual results changes in its early version, none the less we want to make sure races stays fair for everyone, so you will find a dedicated topic in the Dailycious part of the forum where we encourage everyone to help us by posting reclamations. Guilty drivers will mainly be sanctioned by preventing them from joining future events and if really unavoidable a manual point adjustment will be done.
Make sure to read the rules well to learn all the ins and outs of our system. Our community consist of mature and clean racing friends and we suggest to everyone joining this series to become one of us.
Any infractions to the rules or anti sportive comportments will be sanctioned consequently…
This is a ‘’show up and race’’ kind of leagues which should allow for a maximum racers to participate, R2R team hopes that you will enjoy it like most of us did during the first part…
THX to the Team and Community for helping us building this new Series!
Without you guys this wouldn’t have been possible!
Now let’s have some fair and competitive racing, have fun racers!!
R2R team
Next to Dailycious we wanted to have a competition for all those sprint races we do every day, so we have decided to start using the Champ points to nominate the best driver in the end of each month.
Those points will be reset the 1th of each month, we are also thinking about organizing a race with the top 32, but that's for later....
The top 32 champ points is on the portal for everyone to see: portal.php
19:40 UTC / quali 15min
20:00 UTC / Race1 10min no pit
20:20 UTC / Race2 20min with pit (free work)(start grid=finish order R1)(others can join in the back)
20:50 UTC / Race3 30min with pit (free work)(start grid=finish order R2)(others can join in the back)
21:30 UTC / end.....
THX to everyone for participating in yesterday's test which was quite OK for a first test, tomorrow (Monday) we'll have an other test event like this on TBO server at AS2r.
OK guys the first part of Dailycious is finished, thank you to all participants, it was fun racing with all of you and we hope to see you all in the second part!
Here are the results for each classifications, you will also find downloadable pdf's with all results:
Just did something I normally never do, but since it is the last week and no one had driven on GT2 server yet, I have changed the track to WE1 like it was requested by MoE drivers and the community.
Sorry for this last minute change...
Sorry guys, the flue got me and I am late announcing next week's calendar, this will be the last week for the first part of dailycious and the tbo and general classifications are not decided yet.
Nothing will stop maxnorris from taking first place in GT2...Congrats to him!
We are trying to race as much tracks as possible (easy, hard, long...no racism :razz, when you race in RL, you don't do only the ones you like, the quality of a racer is to adapt and achieve the best result possible, even when he doesn't like the track.
We love LFS for its Sim character, so no compromises...
TBO/BL1R was week3 of the series...
if you want to check what tracks we have already done, go to this link and click on track calendar: http://www.ready2rollteam.com/r2rdailyrace/
We are thinking to call the Dailycious winners every 3 months and restart the series fresh, so that would mean (if it happens) that end November the first part of dailycious will end and restart in December (maybe with some changes), which will allow us to race the popular tracks again... so stay tuned!
It was a great week for TBO with the easy AS2 which we have bookmarked on everyone's request, we had a special feature in the first corner which seems to have prevented the classic T1 divebombs.
GT2 was a bit slow last week with AS4r, so next week TBO will get a hard track with SO6r and GT2 a popular one with KY2r.
Our compliments to most of you last week, we've seen a lot of great and fun racing, the ambiance was great and it makes you forget those inevitable bad races.....
Also we have seen many new faces, it was nice to meet you guys!
PS: To those we sadly had to ban this week, don't take it personal, we are just trying to keep the place clean for all of us. We believe that bans works only if the racer change after it, so most bans were short, if you decide to come back, remember to be friendly, clean and respectful, we are all friends, so be one of us or don't come......(to check your ban length, just login to our servers, a message will be displayed)
PS2: If you are a beginner (we all were at some point in time), plz try to train when the server is less busy to avoid crashing races and getting banned, the community is very friendly, if you need ask for help and I am sure someone if not many will help you with setups and advises...say hello in our forum, so that we know who you are and what you are trying to achieve... http://www.ready2rollteam.com/forum/portal.php
lol..someone sent me the topic on msn...probably to show me the two old guys's picture in the first port ...and i thought it was recent...I'll just take an other aperitif if you don't mind..
Yeah was fun ... I made a beginner mistake when I changed my gear ratio just before the race, ended up with a hot clutch after 6 laps and I had to control temps all race with manual clutching, loosing a couples of tens in the process... Anyway Dinosaur was too good, grats to him!!
LOL mate, you're not easy to please:
Your first comment was great, but not enough racers...so we've added more racers...
Your second comment was still great, but too many aliens...so we've added more humans...
Your third comment is great as always, but now we have too many humans...so we will add more admins and try to cover more hours now...
Can't wait for the next improvement...
Our team is now 6 months old and we have not chosen the easy way with TBO and GT2 which are quite slow to start up (specially since we use restrictions), but I can insure you that we keep a close eye on our servers and we are consistently discussing the ways to improve...but sadly it is impossible to achieve perfection on a public server...remember the omelet story from my previous post!
THX for the feedback guys, it is music to our hears!
@Dailycious racers: could be very busy tonight, so make sure to be on time before the qual and don't forget that there will be only 32 cars at the start...Good luck!!
TBO server is getting very busy, many new faces the last two weeks and it was nice to see their racing improving day by day, we even managed to have many super clean starts at FE3, I was impressed by many of you guys, good work!
Next week we go back to Aston tracks with AS2 for TBO and AS4R for GT2.
Don't forget you need at least a copper license to participate to dailycious, this is achieved by driving a certain lap time, you can find the licenses for each cars by typing !lcs on our servers.
Thx for you input IfastLT, Could be an idea, remove tires change for gt2 and keep the 40min, but we've made this series to simulate longer race and add more realism with out lap on cold tires (many racers in our community like endurance races), Personally I am not a fan of those pits where you say hello to the pit crew and go, that's why we are thinking about increasing race length.
That said 40min for TBO is more than enough, so maybe 1h race only for the GT2?
The first objective in racing is to finish our races, sadly too many racers give up at the first little problem, we've had many races last couples of weeks starting with 25+ cars on the grid and finishing with +/- 10 cars. I think it is too bad, first you don't learn much and second many valuable points are lost, on the good side this has allowed some slower drivers to climb the classifications much faster than they had expected....
This series has two objectives, first to provide us some longer races to train on an almost daily bases, and second to allow everyone (fast and slower) to participate to competitive races without inscriptions....We'll be re-evaluating the situation periodically and we will add or change some things on the way to keep improving.
Question: we are thinking about improving the strategy works, 40min races seems a bit short to really allow the tires to be exploited to their full potential (sadly LFS don't allow us to use used tires). So we are talking about increasing the race length to 1h with a pit window between minutes 15 and 50, what do you think? would that be an idea?
Damn, I'll need to remove the 3% restriction on fxo now lol
THX for the kind words guys, greatly appreciated!!
We had some racers who were slow a couples of months who are very fast now, never give up is the right racing spirit!
If there are no examples how are we going to get faster?
It was a difficult week for the TBO's and competition was hard in the GT2's, so we need something more friendly for next week, we'll be visiting BL1 with the TBO's and AS3 with the GT2.
