I smell something going on in this series. Let's say, in the first episode, the Stig is said to be -put a name here-, I'm quite sure in the second they'll say the Stig is -put another nane here-, and so on...
When I use LFS, I use VLFSDash. In this program, in the bottom right corner, there's a little red light that comes on when the engine is being damaged.
I've seen it turn on when:
• downshifting (error) to 1st in a FWD car;
• at the rev limiter, going downhill.
So, staying at the rev limiter is safe. But if you go downhill, you may destroy your engine
IMHO, it does. My PC was Vista-Ready OOTB, and the only thing I did was to upgrade the RAM.
That said, Seven worked fantastically since the first builds of the Beta. Then, I'll just skip Vista and go straight to Seven.
I've had a try... and I was kind of unlucky. AMD Processor (but there's the AMD Patch), Creative Audigy Sound Card, ATi HD4650 Graphic Card: there aren't the .kexts. Also lots of kernel panics because of the Network Card.
Now it sort of works, fixed resolution, can't use PhotoBooth or any other program that uses the graphic card. So, a FAIL.
But, my suggestion... If you want a computer to behave like a Mac, just buy a Mac. You get tested hardware, warranty if something goes wrong, a nice OS, and also a very good looking case. With an iMac, you pay for the specs, you pay for the style, you pay for the build quality, and (not to forget it) you pay for the BIG screen.
One of my closest friends bought it, I fell in love with it, I wanted it.
And I will buy it, (well, I hope) soon.
My view.
Pc with XP on it. Bought Vista, partitioned the HD, installed XP, all working, installed Vista, BSOD. That was my first impression. So, I sent it back, and asked for a refund... all of this in less than 3 days. From XP, I only switched to a newer OS when Seven came out. The RC works like a charm. It's XP-stable and better looking than Vista, I love it
Yo dawg, we heard you liek Windows, so we put Dos in your Windows in your Windows in your Windows in your Windows in your Windows in your Windows in your Windows, so you can use Windows while you use Windows while you use Windows [etc.].
On motorcycles/mopeds. On bicycles the front brake is on the left, the rear on the right. (As bike can be either motorbike or bicycle... It all depends on what was Jakg riding).
Now, my scariest moments.
I was riding my Honda CBR 125R in a hot afternoon. The road had two corners, a 90° left hander and in a few meters a tight right hander. First corner, all ok. Second, the (skinny) rear tire lost grip, but I held it in a huge powerslide screaming "POWERRRRRRR"! No, wait... I managed to keep the bike on its wheels and I sh*tted my pants. That's right
(Yep, with 13bhp you can't powerslide, 0-60 is in 20-ish seconds and your top speed is between 65 and 75. That's a fast bike :tilt.
Next one, I wasn't driving, so I got the feeling I couldn't do a thing to avoid the crash; and that's the worst.
This friend of mine had his license for a month or so, and kindly told me and my friends to jump up in his 106. He started the engine and stalled. From that time he always stays over 4k rpm to move, because he is afraid of stalling.
We were travelling at 30mph, he went round a bend and decided to accelerate, without moving an inch the steering wheel. We were then going on the opposite lane. And if one of my friends didn't turn the wheel, we would have crashed into the oncoming traffic.
But now I know that's normal for him: he managed to crash into a small column while entering his driveway and scratch all the poor Peugeot's right side while trying to exit a parking (twice in a row).
He's not a good driver, is he?
BTW... Just tried it.
Question: In Live For Speed, will the Scirocco come tomorrow?
Answer: Yes
Question: Is the new patch coming in a few days?
Answer: My sources say no
Question: Is it coming tomorrow?
Answer: Yes
Yes, since a long time everybody in this thread repeats always the same things. But I think it's better that they keep whining here than on the rest of the forum. So, +1 to keep this thread.
I'd love to have the VWS in LFS, I prefer real(-istic), everyday cars to stripped-out racecars. When they said the release date was in December, I couldn't wait. They postponed it: I was a little bit disappointed, but I kept living my life. This didn't "Ruin my Christmas", of course.
Sure, I can't say I'm not waiting for it, but I think the devs can take their time to give us a bugless patch.
BTW, I think that an year is divided in two parts, early and late. So, early can be from January to June.
That's just madness, IMHO. I love my cars, I really do... but that's too much.
Even if it's a limited edition, it's still an Astra. The final result is superb, it looks much nicer than any other Astra... but I don't think it's worth it.
And then, the power of a Standard VXR is 237bhp, more than a FWD car can handle; but he has a Nurburgring Edition (that's 251bhp). He than upgrades the power to 280bhp and 320 lbft of torque.
I would not be too surprised if he would torquesteer into a tree the first time he floors it on the road. And that would be a laugh, after the time and the money he has spent on it.
