One of the guys I used to race with had his wheel setup so as the throttle and brake (done as above) were set to use the paddles on the wheel as he was unable to use pedals, lot easier than having them on a keyboard I would imagine, then moved the shift buttons to other buttons on the wheel, might be worth trying
Maybe the wiki/manual could be updated? A quick look shows it is out of of date with no mention of the current range of wheels available or the recent updated patch details
That appears to be what it was, Plugging the wheel in or out must have changed something (or coincidence?) anyway selecting Axis previously had the view looking at the roof lining with no way of moving it (only mouse), manually clicking the select look axis and pressing to delete to remove/reset it has worked ty.
I guess this is the best place as from a search the look function was changed in a recent patch.
I have a little issue, I normally race with mouse however the other day I plugged my old wheel in (Logitech DFP if it matters/helps?), LFS auto detected it great and set everything up for me.
However I have now just launched LFS for the first time since and set my controls back to mouse/kb all's fine control setting wise, however the look function has defaulted to joystick with the drivers head looking 45 degrees to the left, can adjust by moving the rotate view slider to 45 but then I can't look right.. Can't test if I can reset it by using an actual joystick/controller as I don't have one here with the laptop.
I actually can't remember what the default view setting is for this and trying them all, I can't get it back to a static forward view.
Not quite, S1 was released in 2003, S2 in 2005. It was Rockingham and a certain car that where announced as upcoming updates 8 years ago, Rockingham was released with S3.
You really are opening a can of worms there lol, Steam has been discussed many times on here.
Pretty much sums it up mate, it is hard to believe that S2 was released 11 years ago and sadly, content wise, not a great deal has been added in those 11 years, so you can see why people get a little frustrated.
To be fair Scawen has kept a steady enough stream of updates coming on the the sim itself and it has changed a lot from that side of things over the years, as said it's just content that's lacking and most of us old timers have simply over driven what we have.
I guess some people see it different ways JB, you obviously want to hold out paying until they get something else released, others decided to put a little faith in and give them a boost in cashflow, it's not as if they are releasing update after update and charging for it, another £12.00 after 10 years of use is not bad is it? I'll spend more than that on the first round in the pub tonight watching England... not sure if that counts as entertainment knowing England though lol
Fanboyism won't save LFS I quite agree, but what will? No one buys any more licences the money will eventually run out then no more LFS full stop. We all know it desperately needs content but that is out of our control.
What would help is getting some hype built up and keeping things moving at a consistent pace, for example the Westhill update, then Rockingham release both great but they where too far apart with no previews or anything in between so interest peaks up then fades away again shortly afterwards.
A true progress report every few months, even every 6 months showing some previews into what is being worked on (content wise) would really help put some faith back into the community and get people talking about LFS again.
To be fair they have been open and honest about it from the start, everyone who bought S3 knew there was no guarantee of new tracks in the near future... if at all, although I doubt that very much as it has been posted already that work is in progress.
So what if they needed a cash flow boost, I'm not surprised, they can't have been selling many s2 licences prior to S3 and all the VR work. As posted it looks like plenty of people will gladly put there £12 in the pot to help, I really don't see it as buying one track, you are simply helping fund the future of LFS, which has to be a good thing for everyone here surely.
It will be an interesting journey RacerX, regardless of whether we like or it not the decision has been made so we just have to get on with it and make it work, no point in moaning about it. No doubt once the EU stops trying to give us a verbal kicking for standing up and leaving, the press get bored of the scaremongering things will be fine.
Be interesting to see how other countries react now we have gone, especially the major contributors, can see a few more in out votes coming up in the near future.
You have nothing to worry about with that rig, LFS will run on pretty much any half modern pc, you should be fine with everything maxed out. A lot of helpful stuff all over the forum and also in the online wiki/manual (inc wheel setup etc). Enjoy
The same bookies that where giving up to 16-1 odds on the Conservatives getting a majority last time as it was so unlikely, they don't get it right every time
Also remember some of the people you will see racing/hotlapping have 1,000's if not 10's of thousands of laps on that combo, as above it's just practice, you'll get there
I actually thought this one was better and you're right it is the format that is over done. The last couple of series with Clarkson and co wasn't great as it was getting long in the tooth and they where running out of ideas.
I think over time they may well adapt the show as they judge the public's opinion and whether you like or hate Evans he can certainly take on a challenge, Taking over the Radio 2 breakfast show everyone thought he would fail after following in Wogans shoes, a tough gig for anyone. But he's still there and making that work, so hopefully he has the same success with Top Gear, as said I just think it's going to take time to adapt into the "new" top gear.
Well as someone else pointed out earlier in the thread, one huge downside to a pickup of any kind here in the uk is that it rains, a lot, so 50% of the time you would end up having to cover up what ever you where transporting. A van doesn't suffer that problem
Chris Evans really doesn't help himself sometimes, looks like he is trying to defend himself against the haters via his twitter account https://twitter.com/achrisevans..
Stating viewing figures showing he had more viewers than the first episode of the last series and declaring the new top gear "OFFICIALLY a hit"... Well yeah because everyone was curious to watch it, be interesting to see what the viewing figures are next week.
Yeah sorry I realised after I'd shut lfs to take the ss I had the wrong car lol, still the setup list/system works the same in any car, as Rony said make sure the set is named XRG_setupname not XRT_ plenty of xrg ones about I would imagine, pop in a drift server if you can't find one, sure someone will send you one
Mixed opinions about it tbh, not bad overall, though it all seemed a little awkward between Chris and Matt. I guess that could well change as the show progresses, still a lot better than the rest of the crap that is on tv on a Sunday night though
