Quote from Racer X NZ :If you have brought the game, post from an existent account showing an S3 licence Smile

That S3 username does not exist on lfsworld so I can't imgine he has bought it. Although I think it is the same person who has a thread running asking how he can pay for it in brazil.

Edit - yes it is the same person https://www.lfs.net/forum/thread/89601

Really?? the show is due to launch this weekend and coincidently two new presenters happen to "unwittingly" follow one of the people rumoured to be the Stig for a while so it makes probably every tabloid paper just in time for launch, I can't imagine it was a planned publicity stunt at all..

All the same, looking forward to seeing what it's like.

Actually you are right they did also sell the 300c, forgot about that one but as said they have stopped selling anything now. You do get the odd Charger/Challenger but they are just US imports and very rare here, think I've only ever seen one at a show.

Quote from Racer Y :The only vehicles Chrysler makes that are halfway decent are HUGE. I wouldn't think they'd be very successful over there.
And I don't think American and Japanese makers have seriously considered marketing Trucks in the UK and Europe cause they're happy to just be able to get cars sold. This latest attempt from GM/Fiat might be the right one. Or it may fall flat on it's face. They're going to have to be as aggressive in marketing that truck as they were in marketing that little 300 scorpion car they've had success here with doing so.

That may be true in America but I don't think we got the full range you guys have. Instead we had the Neon, Crossfire, Voyager and PT Cruiser plus some rebranded euro box crap with a USA badge on it. Similar with Dodge I think all we had over here was the dodge Caliber. That is what I'm trying to say, they won't even send us big engined American cars here never mind trucks. The only exception being the 5.0 Mustang and that is literally only just being released, although it seems to be doing well as there is a waiting list for new orders.

Dave, sorry but I have to disagree there, I don't see how pointing out that someone who is clearly using a cracked version is not going to get a great deal of help here, or this is in anyway going to harm or even boost multi player numbers.

I would hazard a guess there is a fairly active cracked scene given the percentage of them make it on here looking for help, now if a few of them actually went out and bought a licence then things might start changing but whilst the cracked community is allowed to carry on they will.

Quote from Racer Y :Yeah. It might not. But you do realize that in this day and age that there are people that specialize in creating markets where there are none. Sure a pick up is a different product than say diet soda or a clothing line, but the same principles apply. And I wouldn't be surprised that tactics I brought up plus many more were utilized to bring this about.
Isn't that crazy? No market? No problem! just make one up! There's all sorts of books and courses that teaches how to do just that.

I know what you are saying Racer Y but do you not think all the American truck companies have researched the exact thing you are talking about. Do you not think if Ford, Dodge or who ever thought they could make money bringing them over and selling them they already would be doing so?

As has already been discussed, there is no market, well ok there probably is but it would such a niche market it would not be worth the hassle of setting up everything they need over here, not just importing trucks but supplying parts, training mechanics & sales on them, right hand drive conversions etc, not to mention the cost of marketing them. Even then there is no guarantee they will sell many.

As said nothing against American pick ups, quite like some of them, I just can't see them fitting in on UK roads. Plus as both Dodge and Chrysler have both pulled out of selling cars now in the uk I really can't see any other companies taking the gamble, other than Ford maybe.

I really can't see it making a difference Racer Y, Ford have only just started trying to sell the Mustang over here never mind trucks lol.

Quote from Racer Y :Yeah Wenom, If I ever win the lottery, I'll buy one like that and move to Monaco. I would say Luxembourg,
but that truck is so big if you park the truck there, the back end will stick out into Belgium.

Not to be picky but you do know Luxembourg is a hell of a lot bigger than Monaco Wink

I notice there are several threads appearing in various sections, but just a title, no post written at all, as such there is no way to report it (that I've seen) without someone replying to the empty thread and reporting their own post

Quote from bobloblaw :Of course it turns into a thread about steam. LFS is a sim, and if its one of the best sims, then people looking for a racing sim will buy it. We're looking for racers, not gamers.

On topic: I don't think I've ever raced with 3+ people on a US/Canadian server. There are enough of us here, we should setup an informal time to race!

It turns to Steam as that is probably the most used game service there is and therefore an easy way to access lots of newcomers, love it or hate it you can't argue with their customer base.

At this point in time it is not just hardcore racers lfs needs, it needs gamers, casual users, drifters, VR users, It really doesn't matter, and for that it needs publicity and people talking about to get the servers busy. Obviously it is a sim, but it has never just been hardcore racers, it's always had a mix of abilities and interests within its users even from the early days. Everyone always just found a server that suited them.

You really seem to like pickups lol, I guess it just the differences in the way we do things over here compared to you guys over in the states.

I don't see why you are so shocked by it? We have many differences, take sport as an example. You have American Football, Baseball etc all of which is hardly watched/played over here, in a similar way we have Football, Rugby etc that has a much smaller market over there.

I don't really see the issue tbh Shrug

Quote from Racer Y :Gasoline prices.... I didn't ask how come Europe doesn't have big giant monster trucks. Just Pick-up trucks in general. Like an Izuzu 4cyl. diesel?

We do... you can buy pretty much anything here all jap, ford, etc most main dealers/garages stock them or if you can find one/get one imported you can have what you want.. Seen plenty of american pickups and even the odd holden.

Pickups are fine if that is what the job needs, as posted though most people here use a van for work and a car for social use, rather than try and compromise with a pick up for both.

Also Commercial vehicles (Trucks) start over 3.5 Tonnes here not just because it has a flatbed lol.

Quote from 5tag :Hey folks, I remember seeing an awesome XRR skin based on the 80s Toyota Celica IMSA GTO. Somehow I never managed to download that beauty and now that I've looked for it I can't seem to find it.

Does anyone still have it and can upload it here? Preferably in 2048px resolution.

I'm not sure who made it but my tummy tells me it was Schuppor so the original upload probably went down with L4P. :l

It was SchUPpor, you can find it here : http://skinnerz.proboards.com/post/25376/thread4

Edit - I missed someone had already posted it -.-

Is it worth it Dan? I see you got them cheap but by the time you've paid to have them machined or drilled they aren't going to be that cheap. Wouldn't it be easier to sell them and buy another set of wheels with the right fitment?

As above yes all those combos are possible, not sure how many are actually used for race days though, however like most Circuits, it is used for every kind of Motorsport, including bikes, public trackdays, vehicle testing/demos etc so I would imagine that most combos are used depending upon who is using the track and for what purpose.

Real track from above :

Quote from SLEEPER_ :
not bad but as you mentioned there's no way to separate triggers. the car throttles by itself

The car shouldn't throttle by itself with combined triggers, it should work normally (Make sure you have selected combined throttle/brake above the axis selection in options) The only downside to combined throttle and brake is you cannot use them independently.

One other thing make sure you go into options/misc and set analogue smooth steer to full, that will help slow the steering down as much as you can.

It has been a long while since I used a pad on lfs (probably around when that thread posted) But yes it will work however the XBCD drivers only work for the wired pad and from memory will only work on Win 7 or older versions.

You can use a pad using the default Microsoft drivers but the downside is there is no way of separating the triggers so you will have to have throttle/brake as a combined axis.

Scawen if the taskbar is going to overlay on top of the lfs window meaning you can click the start menu, then could this not be a problem for us mouse drivers as it would be easy to miss click on it, I'm guessing from you post that a very small section of the lfs window is under the taskbar so CTRL+C wouldn't help either.

Apologies if I have misunderstood, just thought I should mention it.
