The Golf skin works fine for me. This may be pointing out the obvious but are you sure you're saving them into your current lfs folder? and not in the cmx viewer or another lfs install you might have?

Is it the right dimensions? does lfs give you an error message when it first starts and try to convert the skin?
Maybe upload the skin here so someone can see if anything is wrong with it?

You can upload it using the same file name as when you connect to a server lfs checks the date of the skins and re downloads them if they have been modified

looking again it is odd, the mp4/4 didnt have a second lower wing but pretty sure senna only ran number 12 on the mp4/4 
That is Senna's mp4/4 from 1988. He was not at McLaren when they ran the mp4/3.

Just go back to the lfs main menu and click Replays, the newest replays are on the top of the list, click the one you want and click play
Have you tried using the hotlap analyser on lfsworld? It will give you a full comparison of your hotlap against any other uploaded one.
