- So do VOBs change the physics? As someone said, which was briefly answered, but somewhat ambiguously, if I made a "chibi" XRT, would I be able to "hit" them without actually getting hit?
And if they do, how do people use them online. Don't they get kicked? How do you change suspension settings with VOBs? If I put wings, like airplane wings, on a Formula car, would I be able to make the car fly?
- If VOBs do not change the physics, why are they illegal? As long as no one sees them except the user... isn't that fine?
You have to set the keyboard outputs (FFShifter outputs keyboard strokes) to the appropriate gears. E - 1st gear, S - 2nd gear, as necessary. Don't be tricked. The outputs are not ctrlr based.
I have just gotten it out. Apparently, there are screws beneath the paddings. I just didn't think they'd put them there.
Anyways, I've gotten my Atk 3 out, and have removed the pot for the throttle (z-axis). I have a cable from my pedals (blue, white, black, green). Assuming black is ground, white is power, I have a specific blue cable from the left side, and green from the right side. How would I wire them up?
Sorry for my stupid questions that I seem to answer after a while. I'll keep on searching, and re-post when I am done.
EDIT: Thanks filur. I removed it, and then I read your post. THank you regardless =)
EDIT 2: On the Attack 3 on the 'output' side of the pot, there are blue, orange, and red wires. How would they correspond?
I was cruising through my old posts, and came upon one from when I was a demo-er. I want a clutch pedal, and Commodo, at that point, told me to re-wire the pots onto a USB joystick (t/f minus the joypad -> usb converter)
I was thinking about dismantling an Interact V3 pedal set from ages ago for my clutch (re-wiring pots). I was just wondering, where all the screws are, or if there are clips that I need to play around with to remove the cover.
I removed all the visible screws, but the side furthest from the pedals (backside) is still really stuck on.
Hopefully getting an Antec 900, and a 60GB OCZ SSD , and maybe an extra 17" monitor to run triple screen. Will update post for updates in rig. God thank you, Boxing Day
The problem has been fixed, indicated by OP. The problem isn't that it is installed in My Documents, but that the setup file was named incorrectly.
It doesn't matter if LFS is installed in My Documents, System32, Desktop, or Program Files, etc. As long as the setup is found in the setup folder pertinent to where you are launching your LFS application, LFS will be able to find it (ie. Installing the setup to the LFS installation in Program Files and running the LFS in My Documents will not work). In the end, LFS will look in the /setup folder in its root directory.
I didn't really expect a progress report, so this is somewhat a godsend. But I second those who believe that a tyre model cannot be perfect. Put out what you have! I mean, many of the other LFS features were not perfect either. They were released, and the LFS community loved them, am I correct?
Well, we've been waiting for a very long time, and Christmas has been a traditional date where the developers release stuff. Just a spec of hope, especially because of the inactivity seen for the last year or so.
I do not see what fun we are destroying. Do you enjoy waiting, sir? Would you mind explaining the simile that you had. Like a bunch of two year olds. I don't know, but stuff like that having no real significance, for no real reason but to make you act idealistic and mature really makes me mad. What are you trying to do? Show the stupid superiority complex that you have? Stating how immature we are, by comparing us to being two year olds?
"Oooh, I am so good, so I will act idealistic, wait, shut up and act mature! I don't like the wait either, but I am here to tell others to stop talking about how they hate the wait, because I just like doing that." That is what I really hear coming out of your mouths
True, you've got a point. Lose - lose situation for the devs, AFAIK. But, IMO in regards to the magnitude of negativity, I think the level is higher than it was when the developers informed the community that they will opt to implement the physics model before releasing Scirocco. In fact, I was a happy little fella when they said they were going to release a new model. Then again, I was only running DEMO, so I wouldn't have gotten Scirocco anyways.
But, on the happy side, it is Xmas, which means another Xmas, another chance for a patch.
I do not want to start another discussion, debate or flame war, but I really believe that it is, LFS that is, has stopped. Well, to be honest, the justification that the developers want everything to be perfect before release is nothing, AFAIK, but an excuse. A simulator that is released in stages needs to have patches released regularly, because a game like LFS is not complete in itself. The fact that the developers are not releasing patches to fix small things makes it worse than making sure the items to be released is perfect.
I mean, the game isn't perfect. Why did they release it in the first place? Buggy crashing physics, lights that don't realistically work, mirrors that are actually parts of the rear view. Why did they originally have them? They weren't perfect. This is just to put my point through. I like mirrors, some sort of lighting, and crashing to prevent bad racing etiquette. Release it. Even if it is not perfect, it will be there, and will raise the quality of the game and community morale.
I don't know. Almost a year after they started the fixing the physics, they said that the "mathematical basis for the forces a tyre produces under varying circumstances and does feel good to drive". If it does actually feel good, then at the point of posting on 19 Nov 2010, they had a semi working product, which is, ATM, almost a year and a month ago. Being able to make a good majority of the product in one year, only needing a new "Tyre heating and cooling system" and having it not released after the same time it took to make a new physics model doesn't seem any how realistic to me.
I understand that snags do occur in programming, but bad communication is really frustrating, and that is the stuff that stimulates rumours. I agree. Short, and slightly informative posts are better than none, and they keep the morale of the forum up. I'd love even to have select people test it out, whatever they have, and have maybe some feedback from them. Just to tell me that I am not wasting time checking the website / forums every two days.
If you are losing frames through adding monitors and AA / AF, you are GPU bound. Your CPU is not doing more calculations when you up the resolution; your GPU is. It is probably lack of memory bandwidth, memory, or a slow bus which is causing this problem for you. I ran 3x 1280 x 1024 on a 7600GT, which is one fourth the power of a G80 (~ GTS 250) whilst getting 72 FPS (not sure if Vsync was on or not). I was also running a E2180 @ 3GHz, which is still loads slower than the E8400 even at stock.
You probably have something configured wrong to get something like 30FPS albeit @ 2x. Drivers? Bloat-ware? Faulty card? Faulty cooling? Maybe you have some pr0n viruses on your computer
Though it'd not happen, I'd be happier if I could at least get a goodbye; we are no longer developping the sim. I wouldn't be hung here for hours upon hours of checking the website. "Possibly he put up a post stating something? "
All in all, please say something. Nothing is more frustrating that the lack of communication and information. Fortunately, Gran Turismo 5 is coming out. Unfortunately, I am too fking poor to buy a PS3 + a copy.
Keep on topic, sir? How? There really isn't much physics to talk about because NOTHING HAS BEEN HAPPENING. If you are unhappy by my moaning and groaning, you may might as well report me. However, until something actually happens, I will waste my time like a stupid teenager I am and continue on saying stuff like:
ME DRIFT0RZZZZ WAUNTT NEW FYZIKS SO I CAN DRIFT LIKE DRIFFFKIN !!!!
But seriously guys, I can't see another purpose of this thread. If we aren't getting updates, we might as well fill it with spam, right?
Always feeling hopeful that something would be out everything I check LFS. However, it has been over a year of checking a few times a week, and still nothing.
Hopefully it will come out on Christmas; that would be THE BEST Christmas present ever!
SSDs are good, and $80 can get you a crappy 32GB SSD (still faster than non-raided HDs). Or you can go get two big hard drives (1TB), short stroke, and RAID. Now that would be godly.
It's all about boasting. But in the end, who cares if you run a 5970.
In the end, someone will just troll. And I really won't whine because I can play the games I want. If you are so insecure about your penis that you have to go online yelling that your rig is so awesome, maybe you should find something else to do.
:flamed::flamed:
My point is, don't get obsessed with what people have, and most importantly, don't get upset. Life is good.
RAM can make up for a shitty HD, I'd say. You offload more of the memory from swap onto your fast RAM. But again, if your computer is bloated with sh!t, it doesn't where it is loaded; the CPU will be busy doing other stuff not giving a rats @ss where things are allocated.
