I really wish they had gone ahead and laser scanned the tracks. In the VVV video of Suzuka there are a couple of spots I noticed which are wrong and there are dips that are either not there or are in the wrong place. Hopefully they'll be included in 2011. Still can't wait to get my hands on my pre-ordered copy as it looks very fun!
I am far from a fanboy. I mainly play iRacing. It is daft because being the "king" of console sims, does not mean it should have the best damage. iRacing is in my opinion the king of racing sims at the moment, but the damage is in some cases frustratingly poor. They haven't perfected handling and physics, no, but then name me a sim that has? The physics and handling have certainly improved, going by the TT demo from a while ago, and that matters more than damage, not that I really see the problem with the damage that they have done.
You're seriously knit-picking at small faults just because people are hyped up by this game? What did you expect? There are loads of GT fans that have been so eagerly anticipating the release. You thought fans of the series were going to just ignore it?
I hope your mates don't race it, that way you won't buy it and will have nothing to complain about!
Yeah it's an excuse and a completely valid one. Most hardcore GT fans would want physics and realistic handling before some damage. Thankfully they prioritised with that before having a go at damage. What they've done looks pretty good, I don't really understand your problem. Just sounds like your knit-picking. We don't even know all of the details yet but you immediately put it down as junk after a few screenshots. If it's such a horrible horrible thing that PD have not put in photo-realistic damage, without modelling every tiny incy wincy little piece of the car to break off, then just don't buy it. Surely you didn't expect Codemasters' level of damage for every single car in GT5? That would just be daft.
Might be your setup mate. Since about 2 builds ago they made the Mazda much better. I can catch slides a lot easier now and it's pretty predictable, still a handful though. Really good fun I find!
Also looks a bit like Richard McCourt a.k.a Dick from Dick n Dom in da bungalow Should form up with thisnameistaken as he looks like Dom in my opinion!
To be honest I probably won't be playing as often as I did when I was younger with the original GT and GT3 on the PS2, because whenever I am racing it is usually on iRacing. By the time GT5 is released iRacing will have a lot more like the Williams F1 car and maybe Spa, which means I'll probably be on iRacing a lot! Still look forward to less serious racing on GT5 though, with so many cars and detailed tracks etc
I am very grateful to CoolColJ for keeping this thread updated frequently with new bits of info, rumoured or confirmed. It saves me from having to make trips onto GTPlanet I don't know what you're complaining about really DevilDare. What did you expect? It's a thread about a game that is so eagerly anticipated and has been for such a long time. Part of the reason for a forum is to spread a word around and share info. The same thing happened in the Forza thread before the game was released, just not by only one person, but quite a few people chipping in with bits of information. I don't remember seeing you complaining then.
Thanks again CoolColJ
Just pre-ordered from Amazon! Looking forward to November 3rd
Well I've never seen it being actually used, that's what I was saying. Not doubting your source or anything, just interested to see it while driving and how it stacks up to Codies wet weather and rain.
If rain is in, then I assume it's something they've only recently, or are still currently, implementing into the game, right?
There has been quite a bit of gameplay footage, with new features such as day to night transitions, but I have yet to see any rain. I am interested to see how GT5 does the rain. The rain looks pretty realistic in WIP shots of Codies F1 2010, and with Kaz being a so-called 'perfectionist', it will be exciting to see how good/realistic the rain and other weather effects look visually and how they will affect the driving.
