I don't see how a sub fee will increase development speed unless it was used to fund the wages of more employees working on the product, something that it seems will never happen, which I feel is a shame. There are a lot of talented guys even within this very community, for example Lynce, Becky and Blackbird. If it would guarantee a rapid increase in development then I would pay 10 dollars a month no problem. That's what... about 6 quid? Not really that much. It would have to wipe the floor with everything else though, as I am extremely happy with iRacing at the moment, but would certainly not pay subscription fees for more than one thing at a time.
Totally know where you're coming from SilverArrows. Same has happened to me. I can't say I regret it though to be fair. I do feel like I have been played by some effective marketing strategies, which makes me feel like a massive dong, but I am really enjoying myself and that's what it's all about at the end of the day!
You've kind of proven you're not reading all of what he has said then. You are only reading that one line of text. To answer your question: Yes, I am reading what he says. The difference is, I am reading all of it, and not focusing on one sentence.
I am not fooling myself or anyone. I have only just started iRacing, but I have tried it before on a different account quite a long time ago. The Spec Racer feels way different now, than how it did back then. Before, it would immediately spin as soon as you took your foot off of the throttle. This characteristic is still there, as it is supposed to be since it is a car designed to train the driver to enter corners on the throttle, but no where near exaggerated to the extent that it was. The car is now very driveable and nowhere near as snappy.
There were updates that were relative to the Spec Racer, so actually it was updated in the new build, as were most(all?) of the cars. I am not sure how much significance the update has had on the handling because I wasn't able to drive it until after the latest update. It feels fun to drive, you just have to drive it correctly.
Edit: MadCat I'm not sure you're reading all of what he says.
